We just returned from a truly amazing experience at Dunes. From the place to the ambience the staff the service the food the entertainment- everything was spot on. It’s incredible scenery all around and serenity was breathtaking. Waking up to the chirping of the birds was something else.
Chefs Palash and Aman made yummy breakfast and both meals Dinner & Breakfast were hot, and great quantity.
We were a family of 4 adults and we booked the platinum Pod with extra beds at a charge. Super comfortable.
We are sure to return every winter !!! So well done dunes ❤️

We stayed here for a night and it was a pleasant experience. Getting there is easy and we are thrilled with the views along the road. My husband booked for the deluxe king room (one of those dome tents) and it’s clean and comfortable, AC system is perfectly fine (can’t even feel the summer heat from outside). The place is nice and truly a hidden gem in the middle of desert. Our booking included typical activities like camel riding, sand boarding, henna tattooing and buffet dinner. Other activities like dune bashing and quadbiking are of extra cost. Entertainment programs like belly dancing and tanoura dance will grace the night before dinner. There are play areas for kids and photo worthy spots inside the camp. Service is really good and the team is very helpful, specially Sanjay. When we were supposed to get there the first time, our car broke down while on our way there and we had no choice but to cancel the trip. We called Sanjay and he offered us to reschedule without added cost. When we finally get there, we met Sanjay and pleasantly welcomes us. When I mentioned to Sanjay that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, he arranged a cake for us, called us on stage during the evening program and announced our celebration. Same goes for the other birthday celebrants that night. They have an in house photographer so you can ask Sanjay if you’d like to book for photography sessions while you’re there. Check in is at 4pm, check out at 12nn (max time). The evening program starts at 7:30pm that includes dinner and will finish around 9pm. After that, the place is quite and evening is so relaxing. We hang around outside the room balcony, just gazing the entire dunes and night skies. Few things to consider, the rooms aren’t equipped with mini bar so you have to order before the restaurant/ camp bar closes. Water is salty for bathing. Overall experience is worth the price range. If weather is not good due to sand storm, check with Sanjay about the road conditions near the camp. Small or saloon cars may get jammed on sands when there is a sandstorm but for sure Sanjay and team can help you out.

We have stayed at the Dunes Camping and Safari RAK, a perfect hideaway location to be free from the hectic city life. The location itself is the speciality of the camp, deep inside the desert, very unexpected lushy greenery around the camp premise and desert dunes which gives us a spectacular view. Check in was really smooth and as soon as we enter the camp, we do really feel the fresh air. All the staff were very helpful, especially our host Mr. Sanjay who made all his efforts to make our stay comfortable. All the entertainments and activities were interesting, especially the camel ride and Quad Bike Tour. The food was really good, had a lot of varieties for Vegetarians and non vegetarians with number of BBQ items. We enjoyed our Shisha Smoking around the bonfire area and the night stay was really really calm and peaceful. We would love to come again with a group of friends and highly recommend this place for a hideaway stay. Special thanks to the whole team of the Camp...!!!

Heritage room the heating didn't work, tea only no milk and 2 paper cups. Heritage 1 the banisters are loose when you grab it it falls sideways I nearly fell over. Room had no information in, we were told quad/buggy bikes included and sandboarding was but never got asked or shown. We had buggy to and from room when arrived after that non for a disabled person not good. Didn't enjoy the people trying to sell us stuff at EXORBITANT prices, when you arrive they wrap the headdress on seeing others thought included in the £500 overnight cost. They say come we finish it off so went over and already had white robe out to put on hubby asked me what colour for me they said black with gold. We thought then for photographs but saw card machine hovering they said £200, my husband said no the reply you make me sad, you should buy as wife beautiful (64 and wrinkly so NOT) Hubby ended up saying yes to mine. I have food allergies was told would have food for me to eat I had around 10 chips that was it so was looking forward to breakfast. Hubby said what he ate was ok except for the gristle in meat. The twirling dance amazing how fire show also but belly dancing not good especially as she had kids up on stage with her running around so dancing marred. DJ then continues with loud banging music but only until 11pm thankfully. We left about 9pm not a buggy in sight hubby went to reception and closed so slowly walked back which was painful to a very cold room. Aircon had cold and hot settings as desert gets cold and damp but didn't work so slept in our clothes. Got up raining so as no phones in room hoped for a buggy to breakfast but no one around got to where we were previous night nobody around tables etc. all covered where was breakfast as available until 9am? Went to reception closed, we decided to leave this was 9.05am reception still closed. A blonde staff member was very helpful but couldn't find her leaving the night before the 2 guys entertainment was brilliant they both get 5*, drinks poor cheap varieties. Go for the late afternoon and evening show DON'T STAY as not worth the money, this was the experience we look forward to mostly very disappointed Our driver took us around but seems the dune bashing was done in convoy which we didn't realise quite surprised at the rubbish left behind bottles plastic trah. This is because the locals go there and stay we heard cars until around midnight but this is no fault to the camp. I wish I could give 5* overall but sadly can't

Dear Ms. Debbie, Thanks for your detailed review on your stay. * Due to the material used for the construction of the rooms, none of the rooms have provision for Room Heaters. * Room rates doesnt include Qua Bikes / Buggies, it is not mentioned anywhere that it is included. While confirming your booking, we have mentioned clearly whats is included in the room rate & what can be done at additional cost. * Also while confirming the booking, we have shared with you the information on the Inclusions / optional activities / emergency numebrs etc. * Regarding the Headscarf, we will check on this and will brief the outsourced shop vendor to inform the guests about the cost well in advance. * Regarding the Food, if we were informed on this well in advance, we could have taken care of it. Anyhow, we do apologize if our services were not up to your expectation and surely we will try our best to improve our services. Best Regards Reservation Team

Scammy tourist trap. We prepaid and As soon as we arrived a guy started putting scarves on our head with the impression that was part of the experience then he said we had to pay 200AED and it wasn’t clear. The Blonde Russian lady who runs it pretended not to know what happened and basically lied about everything. The Henna that was supposed to be included was charged after you did it. The camel ride is like 39 seconds long. They rush you through the dunes with a crowd of people making people motion sick. Then then you sit and wait and hour doing nothing until a really bad meal is served with a mediocre set of shoes. Very unpleasant. Other guests were complaining. The toilets were disgusting

We stayed here for a night during a trip to Ras Al Khaimah in November 2020.

Probably the most ask question about this place: Do I need a 4x4 to reach it? - I would say it is possible to reach it in a normal sedan car, however I think it is easier in a 4x4. Road to the camp is a bit rough, sandy, however it is not too lose sand to get stuck.

The welcome was warm, the place offer quite a private atmosphere as it is not too big.
The staff will take care of your luggage, there is no complicated check in procedure and you will immediately be transferred into the easy going mood of the place.

We stayed in one of the air conditioned iglu tents with bathroom facilities.

The place comes with full board. Don't expect any fine dining food, it it rather basic. Alternatively you have have a barbeque by yourself.

The hotel staff arranges a fire place in front of your house if you wish so.

There is a small bar on the property as well, soft drinks are included in the package, alcoholic drink are available at extra cost.

One thing to mention here: for some reason the staff at the beginning tries to charge you 4% extra if you want to pay by credit card, however we just mentioned that we do not agree to that and this issue did not pop up again.

At the evening there is a show with a fakir, a dervish and a belly dancer. The show is quite entertaining even though it has a slight tacky vibe.

In some corners the place could be a bit cleaner. For example behind one of the tents somebody dumped an old water boiler etc.

Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay here. For people which are looking for a camping experience with a little extra service and a shower it is the right place.

We stayed in their lovely premium rooms for one night for our anniversary weekend. They charged an additional fee however they presented the room beautifully with roses, balloons, fruit basket as well as a cake in the evening. The staff were very friendly, especially Sanjay who was very welcoming and available throughout our stay on WhatsApp. The evening programme and the camel ride was great.

Thank you for a wonderful stay 😊

This place is mainly about making money fast, on arrival we got a nice scarf, 5 minutes showed that the scarf was not free. During dinner, people walk past your table all the time to sell stuff. Small henna is free, but before you know it, it's suddenly a big henna and costs money again. Do you want hookah or ice cream? Also pay extra. Even if you spend the night here.

Dinner (buffet) and breakfast is mediocre.

The bed didn't sleep well (that's my personal opinion of course), but outside it was noise, music, quad bikes, buggies until well into the night. Because of this, can hardly sleep. Not quite what we expected from a night in the desert.

Obviously we reported all this to management, but they didn't really care that much, didn't really feel taken seriously.
