The Cove Rotana Resort is often celebrated for its immaculate cleanliness and stunning location, offering picturesque views and proximity to a serene lagoon. While the resort's variety of pools and beach amenities earn rave reviews, guests have called out the need for improved food quality and diversity. A mix of modern and traditional decor creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, though opinions on room maintenance and noise levels vary.
While many find the value and comfort commendable, some reviewers warn about overpriced services. Service is generally regarded as attentive, despite occasional slow buggy transportation.

Detailed Reviews
My family and I stayed here during the school spring break from March 8th - 12th as a last minute booking change. We live in Fujairah in the UAE so we decided to check out RAK for a change rather than go to Dubai again.
The location of the Cove is fantastic. The grounds in which it is set are beautifully maintained; there is a wonderful array on plants and flowers which make you feel as though you are in a different country. The natural beach is also a huge attraction of the hotel. It is very clean, (though not completely rubbish-free) and you can see lots of sea creatures when the tide is low. My son really enjoyed searching for star fish and other marine animals.
We did have to request a room change after our first night because we were located next to the Cinnamon restaurant and its AC units which were loud at night.
The new room was in a wonderful location and it was a pleasure waking up to birds singing in the trees outside our window.
The breakfast buffet is good ad offers everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel buffet.
The infinity swimming pool is fantastic for children as they are temperature controlled so you can spend lots of time playing around in the water.
We really enjoyed our stay but next time I think perhaps all inclusive could be a better option as the restaurants and bars and quite expensive.
Special thanks goes to Awais from Cinnamon restaurant. He was extremely polite and sociable with us and our son! Thank you Awais :)

Such a beautiful setting for a long staycation. The resort has a Mediterranean design, which transported me to Greece. The warmest welcome was given by Taha who took the time to tell me about his family and ask about my own. An adult only infinity pool. A separate family pool. Individual villas with private pools. A well equipped beach with plenty of sun beds. The room was cleaned daily by Shabnum who was super polite, kept us informed about the time that he would come and he was very thorough with his work. The breakfast was according to Covid restrictions with staff still adapting to the new norm. Perhaps either have a buffet or a la cart at the table to streamline the guests expectations and lighten the pressure on the serving staff. Receptionist Liazza was always super friendly and most servers were attentive and eager to please. The breakfast manager Mesode handled the 600+ guest flow exceptionally well. She was competent, courteous and extremely professional. Ask for a room away from the laundry storage and kitchen storage as cleaning carts and vans rattled past our room frequently. Amine, who dropped me at the room upon check in and collected me for check out was always super energetic and interactive, such a pleasure to meet him. The life guard Emmanuel did a great job jumping in and saving a guest who did not appreciate the depth of the pool. Room service was prompt and the lasagne and lentil soup were delicious. I will definitely be returning frequently for weekend stays with friends and with family.

Post Covid this was our first trip & we badly needed a break and I am glad we chose The Cove Rotana!! Excellent in every way. The F & B handled by Mahmoud was perfect with an ever smiling personalized attention paid to the dietary needs of guests, the Front Office efficiently handled by Mahmoud (same name diff pple) was totally spot on looking into any room or recreation needs we might have beginning from a speedy check in. Santosh from Housekeeping ensured that our private pool was cleaned twice a day and we never had to ask for towels or water etc. I have never come across a huge resort where the buggy pick up service is under 5mins but Rafiq & team were there dot on time. Two outstanding restaurants, a clean beach, private air conditioned pools (we had selected a pool villa & highly recommend), amazing service and such a high level of coordination by the entire team under their manager Ibrahim makes this massive operation move so seamlessly. Pls do have a staycation to recharge your self with your loved ones without fear. Their Covid Sanitation was excellent.

We have chosen Cove Rotana Resort upon the recommendation of friends and online reviews. The scenery was breathtaking as the whole resort is built on a leveled hill. If you look from any point you’d find a scene quite picturesque. However we found some unexpected setbacks. Our initial booking was in a classic room. All rooms are the same size the difference would be in the view. Upon arrival we found it rather small and inside the washroom we found no cleaning faucet (sharifs) attached to the toilet (European style) which came as a bit of a shock to all of us as it is essential to us for personal hygiene and cleanliness. I have gone to many resorts in UAE and I thought this is part of the system to have toilets equipped with this cleaning faucet as it is a Muslim country and we all need our bodies clean at all times for prayers and personal hygiene.
When we asked the bell man he told us that all standard rooms have no such faucets only the villas!
After some debate we succumbed to the fact that we’ll upgrade our accommodation to a villa instead of two rooms (we were a big family) and bear the difference in expenses which is a bit high rather than cancel the whole trip and head home.
The two bedroom villa was a different story. Favored with a two floor spacious building and a view overlooking both the lagoon and the sea which is absolutely to die for. Villas come with an American style kitchen and a living area. Spacious veranda and a little pool. It was fully equipped with all essentials though it could have used a coffee maker.
Another setback that we were met with was the uphill and downhill slopes that you have to walk through on your trip to and from the main restaurant (cinnamon restaurant) as it’s situated right next to the reception while villas are close to the beach side all the way down the hill. If you have little kids or an elderly mom or dad, it would be quite a scare. My mum slipped down while walking once from the restaurant back and it was really frightening for all of us till we made sure she was OK.
That being said, I have to give the resort some credit on some points, firstly the beach is amazing, very clean water and sandy beach without rocks. It’s also very well maintained with a bar overlooking the sea. The resort also offers a nice aqua park with five slides which my kids enjoyed.
Food in the restaurant was really delicious and mouth watering and it offered a nice variety of dishes despite feeling that the Indian cuisine was strongly present other than other food from other countries. The buffet could have used more Italian, American, French dishes.
Service was really good through the whole stay. I have to commend the fleet of buggies and cars allocated for transporting guests around the resort (always on time and very friendly and helpful drivers).
I have to mention a few drivers, thank you Mr. Waseem, Mr. Hussein and from the restaurant Miss Juneena. And others thanks a million for being so attentive and helpful.
Our stay was a nice one through and through. Hope this was helpful.

We had an enjoyable weekend at the Cove Rotana Hotel - the resort is in a great location and has a really nice resort feel. It is certainly has an older feel about it and some aspects of the hotel feel a little old and rooms a bit dated. Walking around the resort has a European town feel and is generally well maintained, although the lagoon looked a little green and murky!
Beach is really nice with a well run water sports facility. We hired jet skis and kayaks and it was a great experience.
Food and cocktails are only average which is why I scored the hotel a little lower. The staff were certainly very friendly and helpful and went out their way to make the experience as positive as possible. 5 stars for them!
The buffet Breakfast in the main restaurant was too crowded so we didn't end up eating and went to the Basilico restaurant instead. This is where we ate the night before and I must say is the best place to eat at the Cove - much higher standard.
If you are looking for a mid-level family resort at good value, the Cove is the place, but don't expect the glitz and glamour of a Dubai beach resort.

We stayed at Village in Classic room. Pool area was nice and the water was very warm, about 28-29 C. Toilets at the poolside were always clean. We loved the food, there was lots of fresh vegetables, salads, fruits, breads and warm foods were very good. Always there was some kind of pasta, potato wedges, rice etc. There was every day some speciality at the coner, pizza, tacos, pad thai, hot dogs, burgers etc. Little children had also lower table with their own favorites, like fries, meatballs etc. If you stay at the Village you can also use Laguna pool (only for adults). Laguna Bay bar was on our use and also the Sunset Pool Bar. The Infinity pool is not allowed for customers staying at the Village.Customers staying at The Village can also use Breakers Bar at the beach and you can order nice lunch there. There was fries &nuggets, Greek salad, chicken salad, tuna wraps, ciabatta stuffed with vegetables, pesto and mozzarella. Wines were Hardys Stanley Claret Red Wine and Hardys Stanley Chabilis white wine. Beers served in a can Beck´s 50 cl and Carlsberg 50 cl. Straight spirits, Gin, tequila, whisky, vodka, rum and brandy. Coctails, Gimlet, Vodka Grapefruit, Tequila sunrise Pina Colada, Whisky Sour, Brandy Creamer, Long Island Ice Tea, Cuba Libre, Screwdriver and Tom Collins. Also of course chilled juices, soft drinks and hot beverages. Later at night if you need snack, you can order after11.00 pm pizza margarita and plain burger.

Seems, at least in our opinion, the resort is struggling during covid, a lot of the drinks arent available, nothing on draft and some of the wines werent available that we asked for. Then at dinner our first choices of meals were also not available. Having said that the tenderloins we then chose were yummy and well presented.
Although the location had many restaurants only one is actually open, Bascilico, whilst a great evening dinner location it didn't make a 5-star breakfast experience, maybe understandable with covid but it doesn't compare to a normal 5 star breakfast you can have at other locations currently.
Most unusual is the lack of chilling in the adults pool, this was extremely hot at 38 degrees so meant everyone was at the kids pool, not quiet or relaxing and not very good for social distancing. We went to the beach which was really quiet but the temperature of the sea was hot so hard to cool off.
The rooms were great and the resort is very pretty so its definatley a lovely location, the staff were trying hard and the approach taken to hygeine was very evident, well managed and couldn't be faulted.
Also don't try to checkin at 2pm even if the the online checkin app says 2pm as despite being quiet none of the rooms were ready until after 3 so lots of people were hanging around.

We booked 3 nights with the hotel, the check in was extremely slow with only two receptionist to do the check in of all arriving guests, that took from us some precious time we were planing to enjoy the beach. The architecture of the hotel is beautiful outside, however the interior of the room was very outdated. The bathroom had a very small shower that could easily be replaced for a better one, we noticed that the hot water couldn’t last not more than 5 minutes trough the shower, the room had no carpets and it was a very simple room for the price we paid for. The balcony of our room had the lights on all the time and there wasn’t a switch to turn it off, that bothered us during the night, even with the curtains the light was still bright in the room.
They offer room service 24hrs, but we’ve tried to order something during the night and it took us many time trying to contact them.
The service is very slow, the only service that was exceptional was from the main restaurant.
The beach was fine, but we noticed that they don’t clean the tables or the sunbathing chairs (during this pandemic times that’s unacceptable), we saw so many bottles, glasses and rest of food everywhere and also no one collects the used towels from the beach. The prices are not attractive but the food quality was good. They have a major issue with parking spaces, we struggled to find parking in the property and we didn’t wanted to leave it with the valet parking as the pick up service takes time.
Resuming my experience, the price they charge for night can be reduced and a minimum updates in the room is needed.

The general experience was good but as soon as we arrived (Friday afternoon) we got the first problem: there was a big line on cars to enter the resort so we had to queue for 40 minutes until we reached the reception. The staff was very nice and kind but the parking space in front of the reception was too small to accommodate all the cars that were arriving. They should find a better solution for that.
Summer is not the best time to stay at this resort, indeed because of the heat it is impossible to move around the resort walking, you definitely need to request a buggy every time you want to go somewhere. The problem is that the minimum time of waiting is 15-20 minutes. But we have to admit that seeing the sunset from the infinity pool close to the reception was something amazing.
Room wise: the bed was very comfy but there were some details that need to be improved, like the water pressure in the shower (ridiculously strong) and some other things that need to be replaced because too old.
We had dinner in the Basilico restaurant: the staff was very nice and helpful, great attention was given to the details, we really enjoyed the food too.
The following day we had breakfast in the buffet restaurant in “the village”, it was really rich and we had plenty of choice.
One more positive note is that although we had to check-out at midday, they let us keep our baggage in their store room so that we could enjoy the pool the whole day.
Last suggestion: avoid going there on Friday afternoon/evening, the pool was packed with people and very noisy, definitely not ideal for a couple that is looking for some romance. But Saturday was much better and we could finally enjoy some relax.
We’ll probably go back this winter during the week days.

Perfect ambiance, poor customer service and amenities.
Cons
Check in process is slow
Breakfast selection is less than par
Not so clean rooms
No bidet
activities are timed/limited and not informed during check in. nothing much to do aside from swimming
Shuttle service is slow but the shuttle druvers are very hardworking and I love their smiles despite tbe summer heat
Pros
I love the ambiance, best I have been into in RAK
TV was not working and was changed immediately
Feels like I am in Santorini
They allow to bring food and liquors in the pool area
Crews are all smiles but I feel like they are understaffed
Over all good value for money since I got it during summer rate from cleartrip with Mastercard discount! But I think they can clean the room better and improve the turnaround of the shuttle service.
