Nice place, good quality of food at decent prices. However, training is still in process for the service given. I had to wait for over an hour for the cold hamburger I purchased. My wife got cold fish- yum- not. There was a kitchen and stove in the room, so you might want to consider to make your own food- faster, more tasty and hot. Isolated location with little stores on the street 5minutes away. People at the store were very social and helpful. The problem is that you can only pay for your rooms and meals with cash. Unfortunately the ATM machine is a taxi ride over 10$ (equal to the airport cost- which was 20 min away) but the ATM was only a 10 min drive. TV was present, but limited on channels. The pool was nice, but you will need to share it with many local children and lots of loud music. We did have our breakfast delivered to our room free of charge during the rain. There was local wildlife close by such as birds and monkeys (cute and didn't beg for food)

You'll find this place just half a mile off the main road connecting Kampala with Entebbe airport and both places are just around 15 miles (Kampala) and 10 miles (airport) away. The tiny road leading to the guest house is a real African experience and then you'll find a reasonably large and green estate that is embedded in a largely quiet environment and limited by a monkey inhabited forest on the lower side. These normally shy animals visit the place quite often during day time. Other attractions are a sauna and the recently finished pool and you can choose to stay in a nice tiny apartment that offers enough space for a little family or in one of the more traditional banda-like round houses. The friendly staff that is serving you there is local and provides African food that is also brought to your apartment if you wish so. Of course, you can always get a cold beer or soft drink if temperatures rise in the afternoon. Your African experience, however, won't be complete if you don't experience one of the temporary power cuts, so don't forget to bring a candle or a flashlight, even though a generator is available. Never forget you are in Africa and not in the Western world, then you'll enjoy your stayover and love the place and might become a regular like I am!

Although Governor club is not on a main tourist location we have to suggest you to spend some time here. Services are really great. We come to uganda without a real plan what to do here for 10 days and John Scofield and his team arranged a wonderful stay for us. They was even able to arrange Gorilla tracking without a prior notice. We really enjoyed the stay. Hotel have a nice new pool made and it's providing half-year course for local people about hospitality for tourists. All of them get a job straight away. Perfect idea. Room is always clean, hot water works and prices are really acceptable. Do not hesitate to contact them about pick up from airport, it's just few bugs and save you a lot of time as public transportation can be hard to understand :-)

I stayed in this very friendly and relaxed hotel in Entebbe. I came for 1 night but stayed 4 eventually. I loved the swimming pool and the variety of birds and trees around the place. The rooms are basic, simple and clean, the staff is very helpful and client oriented; they’re both very respectful to your privacy as well as very sociable in the same time. If you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of busy Kampala, the Governor’s Club is a perfect place to be!

Imagine you have just arrived in Uganda, and maybe even Africa, for the first time, after travelling for hours from Europe or North America. You could then take a cab from Entebbe to Kampala, facing up to three hours more on the road before you reach your hotel. There's another option, which is to decompress at The Governor's Club, an Eco-Lodge, just a few miles from the airport and sheltered from the highway noise by a natural buffer -- a lush forest complete with exotic birds and friendly primates. Add to that simple but clean, comfortable rooms and a cordial staff and you have the Governor's Club experience, a well-kept secret but I'm guessing not for long. Warning: You may want to spend more than just one night before you strike out for one of the countries wonderful game parks. And the best part: You don't even need to be a governor to stay there. Although the way you are treated you might think the staff believes you do hold some high office. Oh, and I understand they have recently opened a good-sized swimming pool, which will make your stay even more pleasant.
