We travel to Uganda about two or three times a year. Rather than going straight on to Kampala, as usual, this time we decided to stay over in Entebbe on the night of our arrival. I therefore booked and paid in full for this hotel in June 2018. My booking was confirmed and “guaranteed” in writing. I spent ages choosing the hotel from a combination of research and other reviews on TripAdvisor. About a week before we were due to arrive I asked the hotel about an airport shuttle. Although my message was read shortly after, they didn’t reply. I contacted them again on the night before we were due to arrive to be informed that they had given our room to somebody else. They would provide us with a car from the airport to take us to the Livani Beach Motel, some 7km further away. I paid about £56 for the room at Peniel Beach Hotel. A quick check online found I could get the Livani Beach Motel for as little as £28 so I asked if I would get a refund. There was no reply. On the night of arrival, we were driven to the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was dreadful and I’ve reviewed it separately. A few days later, with no reference to me whatsoever, a sum of £6.50 was refunded to my credit card; presumably the difference in price that the Peniel Beach Hotel thought was appropriate. I certainly didn’t think it appropriate. So, I’m sure the Peniel Beach Hotel is a nice hotel. After all, I chose it after a lot of research. Alas, after confirming and guaranteeing our room, they decided it should go to someone else at the last minute. You may wish to bear this in mind if planning to book here. I certainly won’t be coming back here on my next trip to Uganda.

I stayed at Peniel Beach hotel last Christmas and enjoyed a restful and comfortable stay. My stay at this hotel this Xmas is even better. My evening flight was unexpectedly delayed for two hours, yet the hotel driver waited patiently for me and this shuttle service is free. As usual, i stayed in one of the cottages as i found these to be more homely than their conventional hotel rooms. Don't be misled by the room rates, which are much lower than expected - the services in the hotel are comparable to those offered at twice the price in Entebbe or Kampala. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the massive flat screen TV beamed at least 60 international channels. Breakfast is excellent and usually complementary, as is customised lunch/dinner for just UGX25,000. Aero, Spenah and Liddo's beaches are minutes away by foot. Some guests might find the loud music from these beaches uncomfortable, but it usually stops by about 10pm. Most of all, the customer service is exceptional and personalized. Give it a try - very much worth exploring!

This is how one can waste a beautiful setting and a great infrastructure: Authorize a group to hold an end-of-workshop party litterally under your window and let them shout on the mike for hours on end. Offer no alcohol drinks and let a messenger disappear with your money to purchase a beer. And leave the reception unattended when guests wish to check out. My hopes for a good 24 hours of rest were shattered!

I went to Peniel beach hotel for a night with my boyfriend. We were informed that they served breakfast from early morning till 11;00am. When we went to the dinning at around 10 minutes to 11;00, the place was clear, and when we asked for breakfast we were reliably informed that the chef thought people in the rooms were finished. So they decided to make for us something. It took another 30 mins to prepare. The bread seemed like it had stayed for so long, it was so hard, the butter was frozen. And we had to look for cutlery in the dinning cupboard. The staff need to do something about their service delivery. And for a hotel by the lake they need to provide more thick bedding's because what is used as a blanket is way too light for when it gets cold at night. Then giving a guest one towel yet you have checked in two people.... that's a no no no for me. and for the record if you want to maintain a particular standard as you claim to have, please provide a face towel, hand towel and then the big towel. The hotel rooms are nice but they need to be well maintained.

We stayed at the Peniel Beach Hotel in February. We were met by a driver at the airport who took us the 10 minute drive to the hotel. The kind reception woman checked us in quickly and escorted us, helping with our rolling bags on the sand path. to our room a banda style room. The room was clean, the bed fine, not super great, but fine. The bathroom was ok hot and cold water and the had shower was fine. I dont think there was anyone else there as it was very quiet. The breakfast was very good. The staff was attentive and someone was always around. I hope to visit Uganda again and will stay at the Peniel Beach Hotel.
