We arrived late (9PM) and while the person who checked us in was pleasant the person that helped us to our room and arranged for the room service was hostile and unpleasant. We ordered a margarita pizza which took over 2 hours to arrive and had mystery meat and vegetables all over it and looked like it was made with Velveeta cheese. The floors were tiled so the hotel was extremely noisy - you could hear everything and there was a window over the door that ensured the hallway light never allowed our room to be dark. There was loud music (and a party?) at the bar directly outside our room that went on until 11PM at night. There were lake flies (which we learned later are common) on the beds but this was cleaner than other hotels in the area. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels but there were two showers in the bathroom and the toilet was on a pedestal. The provided breakfast was inedible and small. Skip this place for one of the nicer ones (with not as nice a location) near by.

Spent my last night in Uganda at this property and did not end my 19 day vacation on a high note. The room was spacious, the bathroom fairly clean, but I experienced serious plumbing issues (toilet not flushing at all) which eventually got corrected. I also had no hot water available . The included breakfast was a joke! Only home fried potatoes and canned baked beans. No toast or eggs! A very disappointing end to an otherwise fabulous trip to Uganda. Absolutely no value for your money…. I positive thing…. The hotel organized a doctor to come to the property and perform a COVID-19 test there for me. The results were emailed to me.

Stayed at the hotel for four nights, and was well looked after by wonderful staff, Hotel does not have a safe in the room or at reception. Breakfast is very good and the meals on the menu is very good. The restaurant and bar is opened 24 hours. There is a lovely sitting area by the lake but is losing it to a flooded lake. A nice place to sit and enjoy the lake is on the veranda. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. A big thanks to Hedrin, Lawrence and Owen, Due to the Corona virus my holiday had to end abruptly. Hedrin was a big help with assisting me to get an early flight home.

In 2018 I had started this review: I arrived from Amsterdam late in the evening and the hotel provided a driver to meet me at customs. The room was good with a hot shower that I needed after a 36 hour flight. The next morning they had a delicious breakfast and then I was off to the airport for my next two flights to Congo. The staff was attentive and friendly. I would like to return again and see Lake Victoria in the daylight!! Thank you. But then in 2019 I came back with my wife and it was much different and worse. To start, as we drove to the hotel, two men carrying rifles were running down the street as if they were chasing someone. When we got to the hotel, we were told that they did not have a room in the regular hotel, and that they were taking us to their sister hotel down the street. What a disaster. The sister hotel was essentially empty. We were certainly the only guests. And they took us up to the fifth floor, by stairs with our luggage. For who know why. The room was dirty, the bed as hard as a concrete slab, the hot water didn't work and they recommended that we keep our outside windows shut. It was a sauna indoors. The next AM they took us back to the original hotel for breakfast. It looked like there had been a keg party on the lawn with beer bottles scattered all over. But at the same time, at 7AM, there was no-one in the lobby. Just us. So if this place was full the night before, the guest either all left or they were all sleeping off their drunks. The meal severed was adequate, but nothing spectacular. We were taken to the airport for our next flight and the pickup and drop off by the driver was the highlight of the stay.

Beginning of year picnic for family happened hear. Despite rain earlier in the day, we enjoyed the evening. Nice place to watch the sunset and eat BIG fish. The place is not crowded since its enclosed and security is paramount so one enjoys the shores of the lake.

Didn't really integrate too much with the hotel and it's facilities, as it proved to be our base for first day and last day of our mesmerising trip in Uganda. Our guide managed to negotiate a better rate for us compared to all the other hotel comparison sites. There wasn't a beach here, though neighbouring hotels had a little stretch of sand. Instead of sand there was a gardened terrace that was taken care of excellently. Staff here were great and arranged hassle-free airport transfer when departing back to the UK. In the mean time rooms are spacious and clean, but decor is set back from the 70s as is the majority of the hotel. This resort wasn't going to dictate our adventure in anyway, shape, or form, so to have cleanliness, hot water and charging points is all we needed. Food here is good, with an extensive menu that offers room service at no extra charge. Location is excellent as there are a string of restaurants in the nearby local area, or you can venture out 10 minutes further and reach Victoria Mall that will have all your travel requisites. If walking back from the mall late, then it's completely dark all the way back to the hotel, but rest assured as you'll be safe all the way. There is also a nearby botanical gardens that is supposedly the highlight of the area, but we didn't visit so can't comment. Also opposite the mall is a local artisan souvenir market that's run by kind ladies that need your support towards the community. If your looking for a five star hotel, this is not it. But your boxes will be ticked in all other sectors..

This is definitely not a luxury hotel, but I've come at least three times for business meetings and stayed 3-5 days, and always been very satisfied and impressed. I can't recommend it enough. I've stayed at a lot of budget/midrange hotels in Uganda and this is the only one where I've felt consistently taken care of, rooms are pleasant and clean as are the shared sitting areas, and the meeting rooms were perfect and their catering service around our conference worked seamlessly. It's definitely not perfect, but I've never had a major issue and at anywhere in this price range it's unmatched in my experience. It's a fantastic value. The facilities are basic, but pleasant and clean, and the service is excellent. Food was delivered timely whenever we organized it in advance for a group meal. Staff were very available and communicated well. I loved having views of the lake constantly, and at the same time being very close to the airport. Fantastic location from that perspective. It's also easy walking distance to other lakeside restaurants. Their airport pick up service worked well for us. The only downsides I've experience there are noise from the music sometimes playing loudly on the lawn, and some of the rooms have kitchen noise around mealtimes. One thing I like about it but I don't know how real this is or just luck, but personally I frequently get ill from food I eat when I travel in Uganda (I'm from the US) but I've noticed I"ve never been ill the days I've been staying and eating at the Sienna. My impression is they have good food prep training and practices. One note- This is common in the area, but if you aren't familiar, you'll need to give them your key on days you want your room cleaned.

The sienna hotel is incredible and in many ways: the service, the food, the proximity to Lake Victoria, the birds, the reasonable price. It’s simply a hotel one doesn’t want to leave. We also enjoyed the fact that it’s within walking distance to the Mall and the fish market on the lake. Highly recommended!!

Top of the line accommodation. Competent friendly staff, great location and a splendid night's sleep. Not bad for birding either, away from the bustle of main streets. I'll be taking my wife in the future, and she has a high standard.
