I stayed here on my last night in Uganda awaiting my flight home the next day The place is really beautiful, set in a really nice garden and has a small swimming pool The food is really really good and the entire staff were absolutely outstanding right from the manager It is a little more costly then most i stayed at in Uganda but wonderful none the less
I arrived very late at night from Europe on 28 November, and opted to spend the night at the Karibu Entebbe, rather than trek to Kampala straight away. My daughter and her small daughter had spent the afternoon and night there, and we all enjoyed a full English Breakfast the next day. Fast forward to 14 December, where I took advantage of the day use room offer that gives you access to a room from 1000-2100, and includes the airport transfer (drinks and meals are extra but are reasonably-priced and delicious). Again I had no regrets. This guest house beats many I have been to around the world, and that stems from the homely and comfortable atmosphere, and stunning surroundings. Having said that, none of these assets would be noteworthy without an outstanding staff (Lily, Rose, Clare, Maggie), who as always were so professional and incredibly friendly. I have to also mention Rhys, the manager, who exudes decency, respect and has an innate kindness. He and his staff never failed to ensure that everything was in order during my stay. I opted for the safari-type rooms, and had the pleasure of the Mango and Avocado rooms on my stays during this trip. I have described the garden in a review a few years back as the Garden of Eden - that moniker hasn't changed (kudos to the gardener)! It is verdant, colourful and is a source of attraction for a wide variety of birds. It would be amiss on my part not to mention Covid (unfortunately), but if any traveller out there has any anxieties, Karibu will wipe these away immediately! The staff wears masks and shields, there is visible sanitizer bottles at various opportune locations, care is taken whilst dining, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. I was able to completely switch off from the crazy pandemic world, and just soak in what this little paradise had to offer. I will definitely be returning here in the future without any hesitation whatsoever, and can strongly recommend it to others. Last but not least, I'd like to thank Gerald Sekanabo, Mirembe Tours, who introduced Karibu to me and to several of my friends a few years ago; all who remember it fondly and wish to return.…
Karibu was our first lodge for our Africa trip during the COVID era. We were a little nervous at first but the management and staff made our stay feel safe and sanitized. The room was clean, had its own hand sanitzer, and the staff was always wearing a facemask and face shield at all times. Thank you for an amazing stay and making us gain confidence in traveling during these times.
We recently enjoyed a one night get-away and have nothing but good things to say. The room was great, with incredible water pressure in the very hot shower! The employees were professional and helpful. The food was a particular highlight, being genuinely delicious. Coordinating the stay was very easy with responsive emailing. We also appreciated the fact that in this COVID-19 season, they had put things in place to make us feel safe and comfortable.
The perfect place to co-ordinate your Ugandan travels. Close to airport for those crazy early arrivals and departures- without any noticeable aircraft noise/ disturbances . Spotlessly clean rooms with lovely decor and brilliant showers! Insider info on what to see and do - and how to arrange same. Fantastic meals-breakfast, lunch and dinner.....mmm.. Very good WiFi- bonus! However the Best Thing about Karibu Entebbe is The Staff Everyone- at reception desk, serving meals, kitchen staff, drivers, cleaners, gate lodge security, gardeners, room turn down .. I am sure I have forgotten some-Brett and Bex Everyone -was so happy and welcoming, cheerful and polite it made the trip special! Please stay here 😀❤️
