I dropped a TA rank recently and after investigation I found that my honest review of the Irmak had vanished without a trace. This review replaces the one that was removed. This hotel is poor (but not completely terrible). It is a budget option but I still feel I paid too much. Its located in a verdant yet unkempt back street. The street is terrible with pavements that are hard to walk along as they are in such a bad state of repair. The rooms are extremely dated although spacious Our room had broken air conditioning. The all inclusive bar had a quite limited selection but did the job. The pool is small but quite clean although it is in the shade for most of the day. The slide is only in operation for a couple of hours through the day. The bar at the front of the hotel is ran as a separate business, We met a friendly barman who went out of his way to make us feel welcome (the only staff e who did), but Avoid the cocktails which all seem to be made with terrible white wine and taste nothing like they should. The hotel is Russian-owned and has a lot of Russian speaking guests to whom [in our experience] the staff give a much higher priority to than English-speaking guests. We missed an excursion we had paid for separately because the reception told them we weren't staying there and they left without us. We sat there and watched it all happen but it all happened in Turkish and our names were never called so we only found out when we got worried it was so late and we asked the guy to contact them for us. He in no way showed that he could care less. The food was TERRIBLE! Well, the breakfast was fine, plentiful and many items were quite nice although there were many savory items I have never seen on a breakfast anywhere in the world. I never ate the lunchtime meals but attempted to eat the evening meal each night. The first night most of the hotels guest were waiting for the meal at the advertised time and well over half an hour later at least 30 guests were ready to kill for their meal. When I got my first look at the food I was disappointed to say the least. Fried fish, veg and potato wedges and I think some cauliflower cheese was the meal on the first night. It was terrible but that's not the point I'm making. That was the entire selection, that plus the 40 different bowls of assorted pickled vegetables that were hanging around at breakfast. The next night I was equally disappointed. The saving grace is that the very limited selection yielded some sort of unidentifiable meat cutlet which was more edible than the previous night's fish. I love fish. I hated that fish. To include the comments of another family we were speaking to, they were taking their 2 children out to McDonalds each day as they 'couldn't' eat any of the food (and they were on all inclusive). While I think the children were overly picky and this was an extreme reaction, I can confirm that I ate nothing at mealtimes in the Irmak that could not have been beaten in freshness, quality and taste by a day old Big Mac. I fell into the trap of reading TA and deciding that despite the reviews, it couldn't be that bad. It is and you should trust this review and others like it. I would not dream of going back and I have actively warned friends and family. I have low standards or this review would have been rated terrible.

I found the bar staff, waiters and kitchen staff friendly and helpful, reception staff not so. Food very reptitive, very basic and bland. Room was run down and extremely basic, shower was so small you couldnt turn around in it. Place could do with a refurbishment and a new menu. The hotel is small so it was quite nice to get to know a few of the guests. Price to keep the room longer on the last day varied from £4 to £50 depending on who you asked. Would go to Turkey again but would give this hotel a miss. All inclusive would be nice to have snacks or ice creams available and a few more drink choices.

Well... where do I start ?? My first visit to Marmaris with the worst hotel. First we've arrived around 4 am the bell boy didn't speak English at all so we had a difficulty to communicate. The room was horrible we were placed in an attic with a damaged Ac.. In the next morning we tried to talk to the front desk agent to change the room that we have already booked but she was rude, snobby, mean and she lacks the sense of communication. The room attended doesn't understand the exact meaning of cleaning we got dirty towels, and the beds were not comfy at all. The breakfast was terrible with no taste even the omelet taste like vomit very not appealing plus every morning the same no change of any sort. The lunch and diner were kind of good but too much spices.. the lobby and the reception area felt like a suna eating and sweating like a pig. Moreover the swimming erea is really small and no sufficient sun beds even the slide is turn on 2 times only for 3o minutes no fun at all; babies have difficulties to get in the pool for it lacks stairs or a space the ambience and the mood of the hotel is really down .. the drinks stops at 10:30 and if one asked for certain drink the answer is ' WE DON'T HAVE ' though we booked as all inclusive.. the staff we kind of good and helpful but whene they want so 50/50 equation. Many more to say what a shame a beautiful place but a horrible hotel I don't recommend it at all HELL NO

We made a last minute booking for Budget priced All inclusive holiday in July 2015. At Hotel Irmak we got what we paid for: A comfortable basic room, food a bit repetitive but there was always something to eat. Swimming pool OK. Staff charming, friendly and very helpful, especially since we tried (and mostly failed) to speak some Turkish. Using please and thank you goes a long way to get a friendly response. The young bartender (training at Istanbul to be an anaesthetist) was keen to practice his English, and all of the bar staff, and waiters gave good service. If you are looking for a Hotel with lively entertainment in the evenings then this isn't the place for you. But we wanted a quiet relaxing time and for that Hotel Irmak proved just right. A 5 minute walk will take you to lively bars and restaurants, and the beach. Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Irmak.

I had a great time in Marmaris and the hotel was really good. Close to the beach, with the swimming pool. I was just a bit unhappy about the room because it was very basic but that room was booked by our travel agent and it was quite cheap so I could not really complain. As far as I know the hotel has better rooms equipped with airconditioning and other extras. The advantage was the food which was absolutely delicious. During the time in Turkey I also went to two other hotels because I bought a trip in a trip and I must say that the food in Irmak was definitely the best. The majority of guests are Russians and Polish.

This was the 3rd holiday we've booked as a family to Turkey and this hotel was by far the worst. Firstly our room was double booked with another family and 6 of us had to share a small room for a couple of nights, we complained to the reception and they told us we could swap rooms for an upgrade with a larger room for the 4 of us but only gave the other 2 people a different room so we stayed in the same room. It states in the hotel that there is a menu we can look at to order food but there isn't. The hotel has no set menu and doesn't cater for English at all, all they serve is continental food for Russians. Our hotel was meant to be all inclusive so our food and drinks should've all been paid for however, we got given the food that was cooked which was mainly rice and boiled eggs and the only drinks we could have was beer and vodka and lemonade and coca cola. We had to pay for ice cream and when we ordered drinks they had no available glasses to use. The vast majority of staff at the hotel were very rude and disrespectful however a couple members of staff were very helpful and friendly. The photos that are shown do not match what was seen and the pool area was an health hazard as you had to climb underneath the slide the get to the other sunbeds and the ladders to get in and out of the pool were loose and unstable. In addition to this, children struggled to climb in and out of the baby pool as there were no steps. The slide was only turned on twice a day for 30 minutes so children had nothing to do. Furthermore the hotel didn't have enough sunbeds for the amount of people who used the pool area and the area itself could only fit around 30 sunbeds for around 80 people that were in the hotel, 10 of which were only in the sun, the rest in the shade. Booked here for 2 weeks and ended up staying for 4 days and moved to another hotel across the road. Very disappointing for the amount of money we paid for an "all inclusive" holiday.

I have been to this hotel, 5 years ago, then it was really good, great staff and food. I have just came back home from this hotel, and I have never had such a bad holiday, staying in the hotel, it has change owners and has a all- Inclusive concept, which I thought would have been great having 3 teenagers and 4 Adults. Well, where do I start, first of all the hotel is catering only for the Russians, I have nothing against the Russians, but if you are any other nationality, you feel your not welcome and that is also including the staff. They look at you if you have 3 heads. Most of the waiters, head receptionist and manager, do not speak English or just the v.basics. They also treat us differently from the Russians, one rule for them and another for us. Ex. As the hotel is an all-inclusive concept, we were told we could not take drinks from the bar to our rooms, the Russians could. The bar closes at 22:30, we were at the bar 22:25, we told bar was closed. We have seen other nights, Russians standing and getting served and a Russian getting his bottle filled up with vodka from the bar and they could get a bigger glass for a beer, we asked, they said no. Food is terrible. Breakfast is not even continental, it is salad and other stuff you would not eat, sometimes there was scrambled egg, which was bought in. Lunch was sphalerite with no sauce or meat, salad again soup and bread, no butter, you have to ask for it. Dinner the same again, soup, bread, rice, a large chicken nugget(cheap, not real chicken) and some kind of cheap hamburger meat, but this came in ALL different sizes and shapes and sometimes with a sauce. This was the SAME EVERY DAY. We were 7 of us, it became slightly a more expensive holiday, as we had to eat out ALL THE TIME. The food was despicable, I never seen such crap( excuse the lauguage) giving to people. This is the bottom of budget hotel. The rooms are very used and old, in just our room the shower holder was fallen off the wall, the table was battered, you wouldn't find it in a second hand shop. In the fridge, the freezer door always fell down, when opening the fridge. No lights worked, where the bedroom was, my husband tried to fix the lamp and got a big electric shock. Ask for help, got No help. Only thing was the cleaning, I thought, until we found out that the towels we left on the floor to get clean ones the next day, were just folded really nice on the bed, but were the same towels you used the day before. Around the swimming pool, there is only about 15 sun beds that actually in the sun most of the day and you need to be up early to put towels on. All the rest of sun beds are in the shade or under trees. I look at the pics of Irmak Hotel on their website, the pics of the bedrooms look so nice, but the are not and that goes also for the food. We had 3 separate rooms and not one looked like the pics. They are conning people. I am not complaining for the sake of it, i have travelled to Marmaris many times, and try many hotels. But this hotel is taking the biscuit. If you have booked this hotel, I totally recommend to get your money back or this will be a huge disappointing holiday for you all!

Booked on this hotel as family of 6. We booked two rooms to arrive and they only had one room available:( 5 adults & 1 child crammed in a small room. Food poor had to eat out every day even though we had paid for all inclusive. Staff very grumpy & not very helpful. The pool slide isn't very safe and only gets turned on once a day. After a few days we managed to book another hotel but didn't get any money back so it was very costly. Very disappointed with this hotel:(

Spent a week here with my friend, 5 children between us, 13 yr old, two 12, 11 and 2. Sold via teletext holidays as all inclusive (not joking), we weren't intending to spend much after saving all year round, as you do! On arrival, 2230, we were informed that only one room was ready for us, would we mind waiting until 0330 for the room?? Err yeah alright, with 5 tired hungry kids I don't think so...extra camp bed promptly placed in the available room. Oh well we thought, it's only one night....no lift and up on 3rd floor with cases, kids and a pushchair, not good, still we soldiered on. Breakfast...awful, scrambled eggs disguised as vomit and last nights veg, yuk, nice bread but not a toaster or butter in sight. Lunch no better and dinner worse, this remained the same the entire stay! All inclusive?? I'm afraid to say if you are going here take plenty of cash as you will need it to eat out, barely passes for self catering. No entertainment whatsoever, staff on the rude side and only speak English when convenient. Young lad on the front bar very nice and polite, I must add here that this bar is not all inclusive though don't know why as it's nowt special. No fizzy drinks half the time and beer is rank. I must also warn those with kids that no snacks or ice cream available at all 😟 Maid service good, cleaned every day. Good location too. Does not cater for British, in my opinion it should be removed from the travel agents lists for English holiday makers. Hotel Dena across the road is much better, good pool and entertainment however going there means spending money. My advice, do not go here, plenty of other hotels to choose from in marmaris, it's a lovely place to visit.
