Hillside came highly recommended by my sister who visited twice and she is going back again in September 2023. There are so many amazing things to say about this holiday so I will split it into sections for you to read if you wish. Room Our room was 551 and had a gorgeous sea view. The room was very modern and minimal in design and was very clean, functional and practical with lots of storage. The bed was as comfortable as our bed at home which is rare when you go away. If you didn’t like the pillows there was a pillow menu to choose others. Every day our lovely cleaner decorated our bed with flowers which was a beautiful touch. There were complimentary toiletries including soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, scrub, lotion, hair bands/bobby pins, shower cap, and nail file. Other thoughtful/useful things in the room included bath robes, slippers, insect repellent, a hair dryer, a sewing kit, and a notepad. Tea/coffee is complimentary in the room. There is also a mini fridge and snack drawer that you can purchase from. Staff The hotel wouldn’t be as good as it is without the incredible staff that work there. So many go above and beyond with their motto being ‘If you are happy we are happy’. The waiters, we grew fond of a few that regularly served us (Dogan, Alaattin & Kadir). They were always so happy to see us and made us feel so welcome. The entertainment team were incredible, these guys and girls were so friendly and approachable often learning and remembering our names. Notable mentions to Baran, Chicquito, Letchi, Gui, and Jamie ✨. After activities they hosted, they would often sit and have a drink with us. As well as hosting activities in the day they also hosted fun evening shows and parties. Food/chefs I follow a gluten-free diet so I was pleased that I could eat here stress-free. Everything was so tasty and fresh. On a couple of occasions, the head chef (Oskar) kindly prepared me a special gluten-free dessert at my request, anything you want they will go above and beyond to achieve for you. Walking With over 300 acres of land at Hillside, it is fair to say you get your steps in. Our daily average steps were approx 9k and easily could have been more as there is so much beauty to see on foot including the lovely walk to serenity beach. The walk from our room to the dining area was up/down 90 stairs steps. It’s a workout the first couple of days but it does your body good going up and down the steps. Beaches There are 3 gorgeous beaches, the main one which is for adults and children and two others just for adults. The just-for-adults beaches are silent beach and serenity beach, they are both absolutely bliss. I was able to participate in morning yoga 3 times during my stay and it was a truly memorable experience, I would highly recommend the morning yoga on Silent Beach even if you just do it once :-). Visiting in May the sea is a little cooler (18c on most days). Thank you Hillside for a very memorable holiday we hope to come back again! This was the best holiday we have been on and we didn't want to leave, we highly recommend it. Improvements I’d love to see on our next visit: - I would love to see clearer labelling of allergens, maybe a menu card for each food dish - And running total of the money spent on the Hillside app

Our friends have been raving about Hillside so we were very curious about discovering it. The place at first takes a day or two to grow on you but once you discover the amenities and all that you can do around the resort, you start wishing this holiday never ends. Their house keeping team are very kind and welcoming. Special mention to Çiğdem. Their restaurant are really good. Enjoyed the Italian restaurant more than Pasha and the staff at the main restaurant are so nice from the manager Zafer Bey, Ilyâs, Hasan and Hasan, Cansel, Ozlem and Soner to name a few. The food is also very good. Their entertainment team is so talented and some of the shows blew us away. Obed, Karl, Zoe, Elena, Sade, Giusu and the Turkish gentleman that presents everyone at the end of the show is buzzing with good energy. They’re all and also the ones we haven’t met really nice and they are the ones that bring the resort to life. I would recommend you try the nature spa by the silent beach. Amazing experience and one of the best massages we have had. A small downside is that some guests are overly motivated and book the best seats as early as 6 am and 7 am so was a bit of a nuisance at first then we couldn’t be bothered and we went to the beach whenever we felt like it and we still managed to find decent seats. As a couple you can always enjoy a stroll to serenity beach where you can have a lovely quiet time surrounded by nature. One advice is to update some of the rooms as they could lift up the experience even more! Thank you Hillside Team for a lovely time

After a five year absence - due to school exams and then lockdown - we were so very happy to book our fourteenth visit here. I thought I’d take a look at the recent reviews and had my optimism somewhat dented by other ‘repeaters’ who didn’t seem at all happy with what they’d found and seemed to find lots to complain about and voicing their disappointment. Well we’re here now and it’s just as lovely as ever and I don’t have a clue what people are finding to moan about. The food is excellent, the staff friendly, the rooms are comfortable and cleaned beautifully daily. The nightly shows peaked around the Lady GaGa era to be honest but the kids still love them. It’s not a west end show people, get a grip. The only changes we found were the new beach bed system. Blue ticketed umbrellas mean the bed is taken. Not sure it’s a good move as it does what had previously been discouraged; people get to reserve the bed all day whether they use it much or not, but hey ho. At least you can go to lunch in the knowledge that your bed isn’t going to be cleared and taken. It’s different but entirely workable. Changes to the main restaurant include the dessert station now behind glass (much better) and you now order fish and meat from the grill to be served at your table. There are still plenty of readily available dishes at hand and the variety is fantastically good as ever. If you want to go on the boat trips or go to any of the restaurants instead of main restaurant, book early. Simple. For us, we’re so happy to be back at Hillside and its just as good as we remembered. With a good two years without income - thanks to Covid - they’ve done a fantastic job here keeping standards as high as they ever were. DO NOT let the moaning brigade persuade you otherwise.

We recently visited Hillside for a family holiday having been before 6 years ago before having children. This resort never fails to deliver and leave us with wonderful memories. This was a special trip for the family and one we will not forget. Here are the highlights for us: Rooms - the rooms are traditional and in keeping with the Turkish style. We had an extra bed in our room for our 4-year-old daughter and there was still plenty of space. We love that they provide all of the toiletries and think of everything even down to hairclips and bobbles! It is nice to have robes and slippers to put on when getting showered. Our room was spotless every day thanks to the Dilber who looked after us. TIP: Irons are not provided in the room and so recommend taking a travel iron or steamer for your clothes. Restaurants - We love the choice of food in the main restaurant. Everything is freshly prepared and there is plenty of variety. I love the granola bowls which were different every day, the chopped salads and the desserts which are served to you to avoid people messing the display up so everything looks delicious. In particular, the Baklava is the best I have had! It was also lovely to speak to some of the team who told me they were on a Hillside training programme which is good to hear. Sinan our waitor was fantastic and always helped us to find a suitable table as we were a larger party and was really helpful. The manager (sorry I didn't get his name) was always there to welcome everyone and was so friendly. We only had breakfast once at Pasha which is later (10.30-12.00) but has a simple but tasty selection and nice to mix up during the week as you can enjoy breakfast outside.- pastries, coffee and fruit and granola bowls. Beach and Pool - the beach is so well maintained and there was always a bed available. They have a great system of labelling beds when you arrive and if you don't return within a certain time then this is removed to stop people hogging beds for the whole day. Both beach bars are fantastic and offer a great selection of drinks and light snacks in the afternoon. TIP: Head to the bars for Happy Hour between 5.00-7.00 for great value. We loved the Canoeing and this was fun for all the family. Again by offering limited slots for 15 minutes meant everyone could enjoy this. The pool options are great for kids with different depths and always very clean. Sports - I did the morning yoga a few times which was lovely and was a great start to the day. TIP: be sure to wait until the end for ginger tea and a shoulder massage. The yoga is no necessarily for beginners and so some experience is probably needed. My husband tried Pickleball and loved it and also played tennis. Boat Trip - we enjoyed the boat trip for half a day with the children which was the perfect amount of time. 2 stops for a swim and cool off and morning snacks and drinks. The crew were very welcoming and helpful and the boat including the toilet facilities are immaculate. TIP: Woggles are provided for those with children when they want to swim in the sea as well as beach towels. Serenity Beach - we made a quick trip here when the kids were in kids club. Loved the colouring activities for adults to help promote mindfulness.Lovely double sunloungers. Guest Services - I loved the idea of the Blind Book - you could collect a book that was wrapped up and had a clue to the synopsis of the story. You could take these then and read for the holiday. Now I am saving the best to last: Entertainment: Well the entertainment team are amazing - the shows are high class and the dancing is as good as you would see in the West End of London or Broadway. The performers are from all over the world and the shows really showcase their abilities. We particularly loved Britney and the Beast - fun and clever for all of the family,. The kids particularly loved the aerial silk performances. This gave the wow factor. We got to know Charlie really well from the entertainment team and she always took the time to speak to our 3 girls and make them feel special. The girls loved being invited to the stage with all the children at the end of every performance. In the end, Charlie became like a celeb to the girls who looked out for her every performance. Kids Club - I can honestly say this is the best kids club I have seen and we have been to Ikos, Liberty Fabay and one in the Maldives. What makes this kids club amazing is the team. Special shout out to Ozlem, Osman and Asli. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel so comfortable and I am not one to leave my daughter but felt totally at ease. The activities they run are great and so much fun and they always remembered my daughter's name and gave her a hug. The facilities are great with sandpits, water slides, little tables and toilet facilities. The kids did everything from pottery painting, to clay, to designing a dress, basketball, fruit bocha and more! A special mention has to go to Anri - the heart and soul of the kids club and kids shows. He has so much time for everyone and was wonderful with our daughter in the kids show. We loved the Carnival night at the tennis courts - so much fun! Hillside is a special place and I think it is the people that make it. Thank you for having us and we hope to return next year. We don't have any criticisms because this place is perfect but here are a few pointers for things that would make the place even better: 1. Reusable bottles - they invest so much in the Hillside merchandise such as bookmarks, toilettries etc. but every water station offers paper cups. So many of these paper cups end up in the bin and although they are probably recycled I think it would be a fab idea that when people check in, that they are given a personalised water bottle with their name on (probably full name) and are branded Hillside. People can then use these during their stay to fill up and can take home as a keep sake - also advertising the resort. 2. Ironing facilities -I think that there should be an ironing board and iron in the rooms. 3. Ability to book classes/events on the app - we wanted to attend the cocktail masterclass but by the time we realised that you had to do this at guest services, it had sold out. 4. Welcome on arrival - i think it would be nice when you arrive to be sat down, given a drink and then talked through everything you need to know about the resort. We had had this at other hotels but it was a nice way to start the holiday after a long journey. Thank you again!

Sadly, Hillside is no longer the place it once was. After staying here over the last 25 years and more than 30 visits, we have noticed standards have declined. There has been economies made, particularly in the Restaurants, with food quality deteriorating year on year. After Shows are nowhere near as spectacular and verging on boring. Animation and Restaurant staff are always friendly, although it’s become more obvious in the restaurants that they are tip motivated and treat people differently. Guest relations have always been confrontational. The setting is still as stunning as ever, but maybe it’s time to consider other options.

Hillside is a beautiful resort and deservedly popular over the years. Food is good though buffet restaurant very messy and chaotic. However overall my latest experience is pretty poor and I wouldn’t recommend a stay here. There are far better options now in Turkey honestly. Service is now pretty surly and terrible. gyest relations are shockingly unhelpful. Check in is poor. Restaurant booking is a nightmare where you have to call at an exact hour and can only book once per call (and the restaurants once per stay). I asked for my latte three times at breakfast this morning. Housekeeping is also below average. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Another great stay at hillside , this was our 19th time and we are still in love with the place , this time it was just the two of us but we met lots of new friends ! Great holiday for families or couples , this year we went for the smaller room for the first time and this suited us perfectly , however if you are new to hillside have a room with a balcony so you can take in the fantastic views !

We were the only people we met during our 7 night stay that it was their first time visit... at first I thought this was... odd, why would people return year after year, a couple we met had been returning for 20 years, another 15 years, another family this was their 6th return but by day 4 I could see why. Hillside is a hidden gem so it's difficult to know where to start... the highlights for me were the food, the facilities and the staff. Everything is considered, multiple large size toiletries in the bathrooms plus mosquito plugins, lip balms, sewing kits, hair clips, make up pads, nail file, loafers, spa slippers and robes, an infa red light when you get out the shower to keep you warm on chilly evenings, a funicular to help get to rooms on the top levels (best views in my opinion so worth the ride), 3 different beaches including an adults only beach and a silent beach (bliss!), two spa's, wine cart happy hour brought to your sun lounger, afternoon tea and cake served at 5pm ish every day, call for refreshment buzzer on every umbrella across the resort including all 3 beaches, the Wifi was perfect even on the beach (in my experience this is rare), canoes which you can just take out when you feel like it, lifejackets in every size which you help yourself to, kids clubs and activities for all ages, the list is endless! The food was outstanding, I have never been to a resort and experienced the variety of food on offer, everything you could possibly imagine, from traditional turkish, a grill, multiple salad bars, bakery, pizza oven and not to mention the deserts, completely out of this world. On the first day we were sat by a waiter and he looked after us the whole stay, remembering our drinks, talking to the kids, adding flower petals to my glass. Our children tend not to go into kids clubs and instead prefer swimming together and spending time with us, snorkelling, playing etc. however once they discovered the 'Kidside' water slides and sandpit, and the 'Activity Centre' air hockey, basket ball court and 3G pitches, they were off for a couple of hours a day. The resort is enclosed and safe so we had no concerns letting them spread their wings and explore on their own (they are age 8 and 9 years). The entertainments team were brilliant, there were so many of them and the shows were fab, with a full set design, lighting, costume and make up team to support them, the shows really were elevated from what we have experienced at other resorts. With a different show each night, this became a holiday staple for us after dinner. A highlight was definitely the Family Scuba Diving, none of us had ever scuba dived before so it was amazing to do this as a family. Other water sports included inflatables and water skiing, paddleboarding and wind surfing and much more. There were a few boats trips that we recommended, we were booked on the sunset cruise for our last day however it rained so the trip was cancelled, another reason to return. For the first time ever we didn't feel the need to leave the resort, usually by day 3 we are up and out but we didn't get that urge, maybe we needed the rest, maybe Hillside gave us everything we needed, either way we will be returning and exploring what Turkey has to offer and making the most of what we didn't do at the resort. We will definitely be returning. Hope this review has been helpful.

This was our second visit to Hillside and we were every bit as blown away as the first time. The place has a charm that nowhere else we have visited can rival. If you want fancy, this place is not it. We have travelled to many destinations and stayed in many high-end 5* hotels (think One&Only, Jumeirah, Ritz-Carlton) but this is still our favourite place to come. It is unpretentious, authentic and charming. I almost didn’t want to write this review as it means the secret of Hillside gets out a little bit more. But I had to give you a very special mention to Anri and Olcay from Kidside. We travelled with our 16-month old daughter and, this time, made use of the kids club (Kidside) and their babysitting/nanny service. Anri and Olcay who looked after our daughter all week. We were nervous to leave her as we had not done so when holidaying before but they were absolutely amazing with her. After the first time, we felt very comfortable leaving her with them for a few hours each day. There are only 2 negatives to this place that bothered us - the first is that it is VERY loud at night time. It meant we could not go to sleep before 12am. Next time, we will request a room in a quieter block (around by Silent Beach). The second is that they don’t turn on the air conditioning system until June. I still can’t understand why but it can make for a very uncomfortable night’s sleep (and also worrying about whether the baby is too hot). Despite this, the many many pros outweigh these points for us. Thank you again Hillside - we will be back.
