Was slightly concerned following a few bad reviews. The decor is dated and bedroom carpets need cleaning. But I found the staff friendly, the rooms clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable and breakfast was lovely and varied. I would stay again.
We did not have a pleasant stay in this hotel. To begin with, the staff barely spoke English which made it very difficult for us to communicate and ask for help. They weren't very helpful or welcoming. The rooms were quite spacious, not very clean the carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The room had a very bad smell all the time coming from the toilet. Every time we left the room everything automatically turned off including the AC as the card had to be left in the card socket for everything to work. The breakfast was okay not a huge variety and was the same every day. Also when we were leaving we were accused of taking food from the fridge and we were charged and had to pay for the items. Overall this hotel wasn't what we were expecting and we will not be returning here.…
Part of the Grand Corner Boutique Hotel, the Topkapi Restaurant, directly across from Basmane Gar, has both indoor and outdoor seating. However, this place is a repository for street kids begging for money, both inside and outside. The waiters do make feeble attempts to shoo the kids away, but those efforts are in vain and soon there’s another small, outstretched hand on the table. Service is extremely slow; menu selections are very limited; prices are too high, given the quality of food; and there are simply too many flies about. Tried it only once. That was enough!
Hotel location, hotel, breakfast and reception staff(specially black-white haired guy) were too bad for the city like Izmir. Guy in the reception tried to fool us whenever we asked for help, and sell us tours with higher prices,I've never seen such rude, not welcoming hotel workers. Also hotel restaurant writes different prices for the same food and you just can't proof anything to anybody .But Izmir's people are very honest and open as we noticed.so this is very shameful situation for the hotel. Breakfast is another big problem, we have been offering the same food everyday, without juice, milk and honey with 1day interval, you can't find anybody to ask your questions about food. Hotel just economize on everything, Hotel has more minuses than pluses,we will never stay and don't recommend to stay there to anybody. I personally liked only bathroom, balcony and beds.…
Great hotel with excellent staff, bus/train station right across and many restaurants nearby!! We had a great time, the area was very lively as well! The room was spacious and the washroom was really nice
The location is very Good for business visitors, just few steps from Basmane Gar and Basmane Metro Station. Breakfast quality is basic but not bad, for vegetarians and Vegans are just 1-2 options available a day. They also offer fresh fruits and vegetables every day Rooms are basic, not really Dirty but does not look Highly great, just Normal. If you do not smoke, just ask for a non smoking Room otherwise you might be accommodated in a smoking room with a crazy smell of smoke. Bathroom is not bad, every day warm water is available but not hot water. So, expect a bit of freezing some times. Conclusion, be informed that you are going to a basic hotel, not bad nor Good. I was fine with my stay with the discounted price i was offered, 160 Turkish Lira a night.
This Hotel was the best during my trip through Turkey. Very reasonably priced but got more than what I expected. Great Location, Excellent service , Good Room with a balcony & Great View from the balcony. The complimentary breakfast on the rooftop Dining area was excellent. Staff was very helpful though not very fluent in English Language.
Friendly and helpful staff, good location, good rates, nice and comfortable rooms....The hotel is a little bit old...but for this rates..you can not ask better..I will recommend it for sure...If I will came back to Izmir...I will go back to this hotel
when we checked in to our room there is no hot water and we asked for change our room if it is possible and they just keep saying we are troubleshooting this problem. It’s about 1 hour that we are waiting...
We have been travelling around Turkey for more than one week and this restaurant served the worst food ever!!! They gave us a chocolate pudding completely expired with the typical taste of expired milk (taste like vinegar!!!). This was unacceptable!!! Disgusting.
