This was stand-in for desired hotel. Reasonably priced and seemed decent on the surface. HOWEVER: - bath light did not work. Told desk on the way out at night. Not fixed when back. - no real bedding (bed was just ok) - tv remote did not work. batteries may have been 100% dead. - tv was inoperable; the cable was broken and disconnected. - the entry door would only close if locked with the key. Was prepared to put up with the above - until getting up at night and finding the bath floor was wet so my feet were too. The bath room was also the shower - with a drain in the tiled floor. The sink drained to the floor. The drain did not drain so water puddled on the floor. Since it was late i slept. In the morning i had the desk clerk look at the problems. He seemed to already be aware - but did not speak English. I asked for a refund. He called the owner or manager. Her response - no refund since i did not report the problems when i found them. She implied she would move me to a different room - but i had enough and left. Did not try the breakfast - but it seemed minimal at best.

My husband and I stayed at the Nazar Hotel on a quick trip down to Ephesus in Selcuk, and we are so glad we chose to stay here. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and we felt right at home. There are several places to relax downstairs with a lovely view of the back yard. The room we had was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was double the size of the bathroom we have here in China. The owner is wonderful. He provided was helpful information regarding the area, he gave us a book on Ephesus to use while we toured the city and he was kind and welcoming. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you are looking for a nice place to relax after a long day sight seeing.

This hotel was exactly what we needed for a two night stay in Selcuk (Ephesus). We booked a transfer through Ilker and we were so thankful that the driver (his father) was there to look for us as Izmir airport despite complicated flights and my lack of access to communication. The hotel itself, it's cosy and has that home away from home feel. The terrace where breakfast and dinner is held has a lovely view of the castle. It is located in a central part of town albeit in a more residential area. Servce, impeccable! Ilker and Talal were really helpful in giving us tips to for Ephesus, booking our tour to the Pammukale and dinner suggestions in town.

Not a lot on offer when staying overnight close to Ephesus, which makes the clean & efficient Nazar Hotel all the finer. Owner Ilker Sen is both helpful and knowledgeable - not a common combination - having previously run an Istanbul travel agency before family brought him back to the Izmir region. Use his recommended taxi driver if you can. The pool area a most welcome oasis for a cold beer after visiting the ruins. The home-style dinner on the roof was not gourmet but honest and very reasonable. Would definitely stay there again if returning to Ephesus.

Nice, clean guest house with friendly host and great location. We were upgraded on one of two of the rooms our group booked since it was early in the season and they weren't fully booked. Ilker is very friendly and full of helpful information and suggestions. He recommended two restaurants which we enjoyed on 3 occasions, so if he makes any recommendations to you, be sure to check them out. Turkish breakfast on the terrace each morning was very good. We also had some laundry done at reasonable rates. I understand that during the high season ( and some other times) it may not be possible, but whenever it is, it would be nice to be offered a slightly later check-out as 10 AM is a bit early. Wifi is available throughout the hotel but not as strong in some of the guest rooms. This was not a problem for us, but as someone who often relies heavily on hotel Wifi for making upcoming tour, hotel and restaurant bookings I thought it should be noted.
