Spent two nights at this hotel. We were surprised by the fact that it allows guests to smoke inside the hotel and the rooms, which makes the smell of cigars be everywhere. We asked to change the room and they gave us another one with the same smell. The hotel is very central which is nice during day time but not that nice during night time. Breakfast is ok. If t weren't by the smell of cigar, it could be a very reasonable stay as its price is very competitive.

You won't regret if you book this hotel. It is just a few minutes to the Basmane metro station (no hills :D) but we also walked all the way to the Kordon and it was a nice walk (you need 10 to 15 minutes to the beach). It's pretty easy to come here from the airport. Staff were reaaalllyyy nice and friendy, they have upgraded our room and served us some fruit when we got there as a gift from the hotel. Thank you for everything :)))

The Baylan Basmane hotel in Izmir is mainly a business use as its in the heart of the city. It had good reviews as why we booked it it was only 3 star. The staff were fantastic always very helpful and curtious . It is a bed and breakfast only hotel but very well run and an excellent clean dining room either very efficient staff with very good Covid 19 awareness in place. We stayed for 11 nights while our family of four were in the city for our dental treatment. Although the area outside of the hotel is not the best the hotel and staff was very good and made our stay worthwhile. I would advise anyone staying in Izmir city for any form of medical treatment to stay at this hotel. It is very comfortable nice big rooms especially kale our room on top floor which had very large sun terrace and a lounge with sofas we could all use as a family at evening time to socialise as we took up the total 3 rooms on the top floor and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very reasonably priced and eating out is so cheap lots of restaurants in the vicinity including Burger King Chinese restaurant and local cuisine restaurants all around the hotel area. Thank you to the manager and staff for making our stay safe and enjoyable and for supplying everything for our needs without hesitation.

This is the third time I am staying in this hotel. Still it is a good choice for people who want to stay in a clean place. But İ've seen very few flaws and İ hope they will fix them. Be careful for the elevator, it move suddenly and stops suddenly by which might cause back pain and execuse me for saying this but the toilet is positioned just next the shower cabin leaving you no space to sit properly

The hotel is right next to the main train station. In a few seconds you are to the city center and in 10 min walk to city's flea markets. There is large parking lot fully accessible at the back of the hotel which is guarded all day and night. Rooms are excellent equipped and very clean. We even got upgraded room without extra charge. Visited the hotel with my family and even though the whole area around has immigrants and refugees we didn't feel any insecurity at all. Breakfast was just typical but the restaurant is a very nice place. Finally, the staff is always present, day and night, and is always willing to help in any mean. Recommended for families who want to stay in city's center.

Served well as it was just an overnight stay. The Balcony and the view from it was nice. It was very close to train station and had good connectivity. Breakfast was very basic but they do open buffet breakfast at 6:45 AM which was helpful as we had a morning flight. The train station opposite to the hotel had train scheduled to airport which was convinient. Other facilities are also very basic. No complains but the bathroom could be a little better.A good comfortable short stay

I wrote a detailed TA review of the Baylan Basmane Hotel when I was there six years ago, and that evaluation still holds, some six years later. What’s changed? - Rates were far cheaper this time round than they were six years ago. - WiFi - WiFi in room; don’t recall having WiFi in my room six years ago, although there was - and still is - a desktop computer available in the lobby. - There were far more migrants in the vicinity this time round than there were six years ago, but they kept completely to themselves and didn't bother anyone. - Me. I’m six years older, hair is a bit whiter, wrinkles are more obvious, and I look like the elderly single female that I am, but ... I still felt as safe in the area this time round as I did six years ago. 😊😊😊 What hasn’t changed? - Service - still as great as ever, excellent, particularly from Nejat, Kazim, and Şemsettin (receptionists); Torhan (overseeing the breakfast room); and the housekeeping staff. - Accommodation - still as quiet and comfortable as ever; air-con in good working order, a particular blessing given the searing heat of summer. - Turkish soaps - as fabulous as ever! This time round, got hooked on Aşk-ı Memnu!! 😊😊😊 What’s very close by? Pharmacies Dry cleaner/laundry Basmane Gar (train station/metro/Izban) Post office Mini-Mart (Migros) 24/7 Eatery (Ankara Lokantasi) Restaurants Hair salon Bakeries Produce outlets Currency exchanges Banks Hospital Mosques Etc. Definitely recommended! Will certainly return next time I’m in Izmir. 😊😊
