I am a tour guide and i take groups to all over Turkey. Capadocia is one of my usual destinations. This area is so popular and always very busy. The landscape of the region and the activities like ballooning attracts people from all over the world. Because it is so popular you don’t always find the best accommodations, this happens to me often. This is the first place I check when i am going to Cappadocia, if i can get a room in this lovely boutique hotel I consider myself most lucky. They have perfect rooms, wonderful breakfast and very helpful staff, I highly recommend this hotel.

Stay at the boutique hotel for 2 nights 3 days. Had a great time, hotel was clean, food was fresh and everyone that worked at the hotel were amazing people especially Okan and Nevsel would like to thank them. Made us feel like we were at home. Gave us advice on what to do with reasonable pricing. Transportation was good taxi, minibuses. Location of the hotel is between Goreme and Urgup. So much to do. You need atleast 3 days maximum 5days at nevsehir/cappadocia.

We were booked in another hotel but changed it the last minute because of the location. This Hotel has the best location to everywhere. They treated us like royals. Staff do everything to welcome you. Fatih Bey was incredibly nice to us and miss Nursev did everything for us to have a great time and we did. Highly recommend it.

We arrived at this boutique hotel to be greeted by lovely staff & a beautiful garden & lobby.. We were taken to our room & blown away! The attention to detail in ensign & beautiful finishes made us want to stay longer or take it home with us! The bed was so comfortable! We had dinner in the restaurant first night which had a great ambience, wine list, menu & waiter. After the hot air balloon we returned for breakfast which is so far (in one year of being in Turkey) the best breakfast I've had & again the staff were fantastic! We spent the day exploring the area & then sat on the terrace with cocktails. As we left I experienced for the first time a Turkish tradition of throwing water after us as we drove away. Such a nice finish to our beautiful stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful retreat.

It is hard to articulate how I feel about Satrapia Hotel after a three-day stay here. For the record, it is not a bad hotel, very new, hardly a year old. Interesting architecture, pretty garden, lovelier to admire at night because of strategically placed lighting. The restaurant is beautiful, unfortunately empty most of the time even though it is now still peak season. Food is above average. Satrapia is located in Ortahisa, a not very charming village a little outside the town of Urgup, where the center of activities are. On the weekend, the town is completely deserted even though there were tourist buses parked here and there. Very little sign of human activities except for a couple of elderly gentlemen smoking outside a very run down cafe. Even on a Monday morning, there were no increased signs of activity, just more elderly men playing backgammon. The village has a very desolate feeling to it. Now the hotel. The room we were given was surprisingly large, larger than what most European boutique hotels would give. But the room was very dark, and it is not even a cave room. At one side of the room is a long sofa, perfect for lounging or reading but it is dark. It is as though they forgot to light the other half of the room. The internet in the room was extremely weak (even though promised otherwise) and we kept having to get out of our room and onto the lobby to get good connection. They rectified this a day later (so obviously it was doable), which they should have done immediately. There were also flies in the room, which were very difficult to get rid of. The shower is great but the shower screen is narrow so the toilet floor gets extremely wet after each shower, unless you use the hand shower. The Hamam is still not operational. But the most curious incident is the water. When asked for extra water, we were informed that only the first two bottles of water are complimentary, the rest are chargeable. Strange but we accepted that. On the way back from our afternoon walk, we bought a litre of mineral water and a couple of peaches from one of the little shops. We were literally stopped at the door of the hotel and told in no uncertain terms that the water and fruit that we bought were not permitted inside the hotel premises! A long argument ensued that got the manager involved. It was the haughty attitude of the manager that angered us more than the planned eviction of our food stuff. Enough said. This hotel has promise but the jury is still out.
