If you want to be anywhere in the world choose a 5* all inclusive and never leave the hotel. If you want to immerse into Turkish culture then this is the place for you, room are basic but clean, you get the all important air conditioning. The family who run the hotel are amazing and make you feel very welcome once you get to know them. The hotel staff speak English, Russian and German so your covered. It was £30 a night and is right in the centre, you literally can’t get closer and the amphitheater is literally right behind it. The beach is 50m away, drinks in the bar are great value and foods good too, the staff were amazing with my daughter who’s 14 months, we will defo be back

Stayed in this stunningly located Turkish pension, in the summer of 2015. Such an amazingly priced accommodation, where the family based owners are simply charming and always on hand to offer advise or assist in any way. A must for travellers in search of peace and quiet, whilst indulging in the incredible history on offer. All basic needs were met, in terms of clean room, food when requested and exceptional views of the historical, natural/rustic Side. Incredible beaches are, essentially, a stones throw away, with absolutely everything on your doorstep - classy cafes, restraurants, shops and interesting ruins to visit.

Just returned from another great holiday in Side. The owners of the Ilhan were lovely people and helped to make our holiday so enjoyable. The rooms basic but very clean. We ate at the hotel several evenings, not only was the food well cooked it was great value for money. Unlike the restaurant Fuego on the seafront where we were very over charged. Be warned do not let them talk you into tastes of this and that. It adds up and for us spoilt out first night and avoided that area the rest of the stay. However, other wonderful experiences made up for this rip off evening.

This comes down to individual expectations but as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for' the rooms weren't as small as some had reviewed however they were only only maintained every 3 days. No TV, hair dryer, iron & board which seem like essentials these days but in a nice town like Side you can get by without these items. Having said all that it's a family owned operation and everyone was more than helpful and friendly. The location is absolutely amazing!! The amphitheatre is literally behind the motel and the beach is 50 metres away. Walking distance to everywhere and situated next to a supermarket for essentials although they had signs saying no food or drinks in the room. We still bought water in with us. The parking is directly opposite the motel and is at a 24 hour cost of 8 TL which is only about 2 pounds, how ever it was a little tricky to find as you enter the part of the town you can't drive the first car park is far mor expensive, follow the narrow road to the left as you enter that goes around the amphitheatre and you will find the place no problem. The original view from our room wasn't to good as we were at the rear of the building first floor looking at other flats but we were offered a better view after the first night. Again the family here were so friendly and really brought a relaxed homely vibe, the rooms are basic but at the end of the day you have somewhere to sleep and shower and the rooms are air conditioned, I wouldn't hesitate recommending this to anyone and I would gladly stay here again. Especially for the price! Thanks to the staff at Ilhan Otel!

A beautiful and cosy little B&B owned by the cutest little older couple. Great view from the balcony over the beach and the Side ruins. Very close to old town where you can go for some amazing food or a night out. It's very cheap but it's great value for your money. Obviously not for the luxury seeking traveller since the rooms are quite run down with barely dripping showers ;) But if you can look past that, this is a great B&B with loads of character and it doesn't pretend to be something it isn't.
