The Voyage Sorgun is probably the best hotel we've stayed in as a family and we will definitely go back. We're very picky about hotels and I spend endless days and weeks looking for somewhere for us to go. I do usually end up pouring over reviews before choosing. We did have a problem which is why 4 stars, I'll mention it at the end... But it's really difficult to find something wrong. The food is delicious and varied, the staff are simply the best - They're always polite, always on hand to do whatever they can to make your experience pleasureable. The grounds are very beautiful, well layed out. Usually something annoys us, but not here. There weren't even any mosquitos or flies - Nothing like that. There are several pool areas. Our kids love the tubes and slides, so the waterpark area is where we spent most of our time, there's even a little play area (seperate small pool) for little ones. Then there are various other pools of different depths to suit everyone. Tucked away a bit further on is a pool for over 16's only - So you can even get some peace away from kids if you choose to. There are a couple of piers (we didn't venture that far), but you can order your drinks from anywhere using the QR code. They use all the branded spirits and beers here. Jack Daniels is Jack Daniels, not some cheap hybrid like other all-inclusives often do. None of the guests go mad here, we didn't see one guest who had too much to drink, but mostly Turkish and a few Russians. Some English, but not a lot. There are a few restaurants. The main one has varied different meals each night and it's massive - Something for everyone. Some of the food is cooked right there in front of you. The other restaurants on site are smaller and require a token payment of 5 Euro each to reserve (I think, so they don't get overrun every night). The Steak restaurant is the only exception at 25 Euro/person. Kids are free to reserve. One of the restaurants had live music every night (but a bit too loud for us to enjoy). The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Many families with young children (including us, I guess!). You're assigned a person you can communicate with via WhatsApp when you check in and this is a very useful service. Any questions or desires you have, just WhatsApp them and they will get back to you within a few minutes with assistance. There was fantastic entertainment on the Friday evening with a live show of multiple bikers in a round cage complimented with cyclists on ramps, etc. Drinks brought to your table in the audience - Just very pleasant, all of it. They even have their own chocolatier and make a large selection of chocolates onsite for you to choose from. So why 4 stars? Ordinarily I would give this hotel 6 stars out of 5, but where they let themselves down are the third parties who venture into their hotel. Whether they allow them in, or they sneak in under the radar is unknown. When we arrived, we were greeted with a 'Turkey Guide Service' Holiday Assistant package. You would be forgiven for thinking this was part of the hotel, especially as their document talks about the hotel, including 'room customization' and lists various tours you can go on. We were telephoned at 9am on our first morning and this woke up the whole family (who were exhausted and could have done with another hour to wake up!) - We were told we needed to be at this meeting as it was VERY important!! So we showed up, our 'holiday assistant' greeted us at reception and took us outside. There he asked if we were happy with our accommodation, anything we needed we could ask him... Makes you think he's part of the hotel (we learnt afterwards that he wasn't). So we booked various tours with him for our family at a cost of around 1,000 Euros, thinking they would be up to the same standard as our 5 star luxury hotel. We discovered that they weren't. The bus we rode on to 'Land of Legends' was overcrowded, broken air conditioning, broken seats. It was two hours of hell for the kids. In fact our little girl was physically throwing up the next morning after the trip because it was such an unhealthy atmosphere. Discovered all too late that we were scammed somewhat. For what we paid, we could have bought tickets for Land of Legends independently PLUS FAST TRACK, and purchased a premium air-conditioned private transfer there and back for a lot less than we paid "Turkey Guide Service" with standard tickets and a terrible bus that dropped other guests from other hotels all over the place. They wouldn't refund us either when we said we would pass on the other trips. So that negative experience did spoil our holiday somewhat. The hotel did tell us afterwards that they were nothing to do with them, but I think the hotel needs to demonstrate some responsibility and care to be wary what third party companies they are allowing to interact with their guests. So rightly, I knock off a star, which is a shame - because they deserve all five. Steer clear of "Turkey Guide Service" - they are somewhat of a scam service. Other than that, beautiful holiday, beautiful hotel and we recommend. You won't regret your stay here.…
