Good points :

Room was clean and tidy, the maid cleaned everyday
Food was great and was always a vegetarian option
Beach towels are free to use (collect them from the spa in E block)
They upgraded our room free of charge as it wasn’t busy
There was snacks between each meal such as salad, fruit, chips, nuggets and burgers
Pool was always clean
Lovely location, quiet but still things to do
About 4 bars / restaurants walking distance
Water park up the road - about £15 each adult
Lots of little tourist shops and excursion stands (all prices are in euros but we asked them to convert it into lira - double check this as they will try to charge you extra)
Free wifi in the lobby - you have to pay extra to have it in your room but the connection is quite weak
Cheerful staff
Park for children in the hotel
2 water slides for everyone to use
Evening entertainment and mini disco for kids
No sun bed wars
Beach bar was great, it serves snacks and lunch as well as drinks
There is a spa and hair dresser in the hotel (extra cost)
There is a kids club
They grown their own fruit and vegetables

Bad points :

Can’t take drinks or food up to the room (£30 charge if you get caught)
Couldn’t find any English tea
Mainly just Turkish breakfast
There wasn’t always staff at aqua bar (maybe because we came at the start of October)
No late breakfast as promised, they pack away at 10am ( again maybe because we came out of season)
We had to ask to restock water
Cocktails are not included in the all inclusive
No drinks menu except for cocktail menu
Manager picked up chips with his bare hands
The receptionist wasn’t very helpful regarding taxis and local attractions
Evening entertainment was mainly in German (however we were the only English here) the music during the day was mainly in English

Overall this was a great hotel and we had a lovely holiday. I would ignore the bad reviews as nothing was terrible. I recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The hotel and decor was quite dated. Lack of attention to detail - paint not tidy and marks on wall. Beds were comfy and had good air con. Rooms were quite big too which was a good benefit. They were also cleaned daily too.

It’s set in an area with not too much going on. There are a few shops right outside the hotel, a strip of shops further up, 2 bars/restaurants and a small water park. It is also a short walk to the beach where the hotel has a little beach bar - food and drink is offered as part of the all inclusive which is great. There are also sun loungers just for people from the hotel which is great!

We spent most of our time in the pool with the slides which was good. The pool was a good size and slides were fun. They close at 12 for an hour or so for lunch and then come back on. It is the same for the bar near this pool so you have to walk around the other side to get a drink during this period.

Surprised at the lack of all inclusive drinks in all bars. The bar near the slide pool, and where all the nighttime entertainment was, only had beer, soft drinks and wine on some occasions. If you wanted a spirit you had to go to the other bar around the other side of the hotel.

Restaurant offered a lot of food. We especially loved the Turkish night. The furniture was quite dated and stained. There wasn’t a huge amount for children to eat. We did eat out at a local restaurant which was lovely, relatively cheap and had really friendly staff. It was difficult to get a seat in the hotel restaurant during our evening meal.

Entertainment is aimed more towards foreign guests so we found the entertainment staff tended to talk in German. We found that many of the staff had quite limited English.

Overall we had a great stay for what we needed from the hotel - a base with a comfy bed and a cool pool to go into when we wanted to.

After researching and driving around and looking at various accommodations, we chose Venus Hotel and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We liked it so much we added an additional night. It was within a few minutes of the travertines. A few minutes away from all the loud noisy tourist area, which we were glad we did not have a hotel right in the middle of that.
We had a non-smoking room with Air Conditioning and a free delicious breakfast and everything was perfect and wonderful and clean and comfortable. plenty of parking for our car. The pool was very clean and very refreshing to get into. There is a restaurant on site for lunch and dinner also along with beverages, including alcohol if that is what you choose.

Yunus was the manager and he was so helpful and accommodating, and will take care of every need you could possibly have.

This hotel is most definitely NOT a 4-star but a 3. It is very dated and old and is in desperate need of a re vamp. The pool area is nice and the rooms clean but the rest of the hotel is a let down especially the dining area where the seating is all very stained, the food is more in line with a 3 star and very repetitive. The location is bad with nothing to do in the area just 2 bars and a handful of shops, some of the staff are very miserable especially at the beach bar and laugh and talk about you, also noisy at night with alot of slamming of doors no indoor pool as stated, just a dry rotting mouldy empty pool, very disappointing, I'd avoid!

Hotel is just ok. Rooms are small, food is ok nothing special, all week same dishes. All Inclusive is poor. Virtually no animations. The lady who should take care of the children behaved as if it was a punishment for her. No commitment. The only big plus is the garden and the restaurant in the patio.

We booked this for just one night on our way back from further East. Apart from us, everyone seemed to be on a package holiday. The staff seemed stunned when being addressed in Turkish and even my English-speaking partner was continously being spoken to in German. Dinner was devoid of anything Turkish. Do people really want to eat stodgy German food when on holiday? That said, there were lots of salad choices and the breakfast buffet was very good. The room was excellent. Unfortunately, another hotel decided to play very loud cheesy music from 10 pm onwards - even earplugs didn't help much. Russia Today was the only English TV choice - certainly provides an 'interesting' world view.

Firstly, we visited at the start of the season 2013. The area was in full flow getting ready for the season. Some areas such as the children's play area needed grass cutting, weeding and general tidying. The Hotel staff were lovely, they took pride in providing a good service. The food was excellent, breakfast freshly cooked pancakes/eggs, main courses varied - lamb, chicken, fish. There was certainly plenty of food and the restaurant staff were friendly.
Many of the workers spoke English (enough to get by), the animation team were fantastic (especially with my children), as the majority of visitors were German and Dutch. Most of the entertainment was multilingual but favoured the German language!
The majority of visitors were families and older couples.
The location was quiet with a few shops and taverns.
The beach was a nice and sandy and was 5 minutes walk away.
The local area was well served by the 1euro bus service.

In summery: We enjoyed the hotel, the food, people and the surrounding area!
A good valued holiday

Stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. Two lovely pools, one with slides, which was never too busy. Hotel beach bar was an added bonus. The made to order crepes were amazing, along with a small choice for lunch.
Beer was great, spirits were very strong.. needed several tonics to accompany the gin and tonic! Wine in the dining room was palatable, bar not so!
Staff very helpful, especially in the dining room, where as soon as your drink was finished they were there to replenish...big thank you to Muslum, he was great.
Went on a local bus into Side, which is a must and for only €1 (euros, sterling or dollars preferred everywhere to Turkish lira). The only downside is the local traders are very keen to sell, so every step taken there's a different voice! However, they are very pleasant and don't mind when you tell them no thanks.
Food was good and plentiful, with a great choice for meat eaters. The salad, cheese and breads were really tasty and lots of choice also, luckily for us non meat eaters.
Towels for the beach/pools are available for use every day, a card is issued on check in.
WiFi available in reception area free, or you can pay for it to be used in the rooms.
The beach is lovely, however the sand into the sea is quite pebbly and fairly steep. There are lots of watersports available too.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.
