We came on september 16th early morning, approximately at 7 am, the reception guy said that our room is not ready and if we wanna our room now we have to pay $20 per day - 6 days is $120! I asked for the manager, he said, okay - $20 and that's it. We paid money and got our Family Room instead of Standard room (as the guy on the reception said).
The food is good and various, area is nice and there are many activities like water rides, ice cream, bars everywhere, kids' area.
The only disadvantage is very lazy housekeeping personnel.
On the second day, I asked on the reception how often rooms are being made up. She said every day. And after this day we started having problems with cleaning. Every time I had to go to the reception and ask to clean the room.
They try to escape cleaning, wait when everybody will come back to the room from the pool, beach or eating and ask if we need cleaning: of course not, just give us fresh towels and leave. 4 pm! Couldn't you come earlier? I guess this is their plan.
The rest was perfect. It's a good hotel for couples and families with kids.
By the way, Internet was free and worked properly.
The food was ok, breakfast was my favourite with the made to order omelettes by a lovely Turkish woman. The buffet in the main restaurant was passable but the pool bar made fresh 'pide' pizzas and burgers that were lovely. Sometimes at midnight they would have pre-made sandwiches available along side the soup which were handy for the children. Baklava only appeared at the end of our holiday when we mentioned it to a manager that there were none.
Drinks were fine, local alcohol and the fizzy drinks were all poured out of bottles which was good, none of that weak, watery draught soda!
Rooms were fine, but more 3* than 5* - don't fall for reception's trick of paying an extra $50 for an upgrade as you'll just get the same room regardless!
The entertainment left a lot to be desired. I know we were out of season, but there were a lot of guests and in one week we only had a keyboard player/DJ twice for an hour each time! That was very disappointing! We spoke to a manager about the lack of entertainment/animation and he tried to fob us off with 'covid' rules but this was April 2023 and the covid regulations had been relaxed.
The waterslides were only put on twice during our stay which was not fair on the children who were asking to go on them every day. We know you don't put them on if the weather is cold, but above 21c for more European kids on holiday is warm enough, believe me! Oh and all facilities need to be checked prior to allowing guests to use them, as the trampoline near the games rooms was ripped and posed a major safety hazard had we not brought it to their attention!
This hotel is beside a river which you can walk along to the beach and it has many turtles which are fascinating to see!
The reception on the day of arrival was very nice and the service during our stay was very good. The hotel has an 80's charm and even if it lacks a bit of modernity and the plaster is crumbling here and there, I would say that everything is within reason. The rooms are big enough (very big shower!) and the only negative point is the extremely hard beds, which were very hard for us. You get free beach towels (if you want to change them after use it costs 50 cents) and only the safe in the room costs an extra small fee.
The pool and the beach area are neat and clean and we always got loungers. You can either walk to the beach in about 8 minutes or take the shuttle car that constantly goes back and forth. The sun disappeared from the pool from around 5 p.m. and at least in October it is advisable to go to the beach where the sun is there until sunset (but after 5 p.m. there are no more drinks on the beach).
The food was generally quite good and there was always something there that really tasted good. Of course there were also some dishes that weren't so great but it was still OK. What was really bad was the jam. It was inadequate because it just tasted like a sweet "something" and unfortunately the fruit juices (the name fruit shouldn't really be used) are also an absolute no-go. I couldn't get the artificially sweet juices down and consoled myself with water.
The second point of criticism is the cleanliness of the dishes. There were some (!) dirty plates, cutlery and cups that were clearly just dirty - that's not acceptable.
Another point of criticism is unfortunately the plastic madness. It seems that it is not unusual for drinks to be served in washable plastic cups (we are not very familiar with AI hotels) but on the beach the drinks are served in small, extremely thin plastic cups that are thrown away after use. If one person drinks 5 or more drinks per day at the beach (with beer it can be more :-)) you probably end up with tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of cups being thrown away here per season. In my opinion, that is not OK, especially since the burgers that are served at lunchtime, for example, are wrapped in plastic (instead of a napkin). Unfortunately, there are a few other examples of plastic.
What we also did not like or enjoyed were the cocktails. Some of them come ready-made from large drinks mixers and taste extremely artificial and of NOTHING.
Fortunately, the entertainment is limited, although we found it embarrassing that 11-year-old children who are more than capable of playing bocce (!) are not allowed to play. What a shame, what a shame... we were very rudely thrown out by the entertainer and so the boccia is a tired pensioners' event.
Even though there were some points of criticism (let's call them suggestions for improvement), I would recommend the hotel if you know what to expect and the price-performance ratio is right.
All staff very friendly and helpful.
Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily.
Cannot fault the food as there was plenty to choose from at all meal times, also cold buffet/soup/breads available through the night, there is an a la Carte & fish restaurant which we did not try as only staying a few days. Burgers/pizza/chips/waffles/ice cream at pool bar, also a lady making Turkish bread with filling (can’t remember the name) but was nice. Pattiserie was nice not much choice however this could be as out of season.
Alcohol was not watered down in my opinion as I had to ask for an extra glass of coke as the vodka was too strong for me!
Plenty of shops/eateries within walking distance, we even passed a McDonald’s although did not sample it. This area does accommodate more for German/Russian/Polish and everything priced in euro however I did use the English pound and lira.
Beach a short walk away the hotel also offer a shuttle service (golf buggy) beach was clean only a few sun loungers again this was due to being out of season. There is a beach bar/snack bar included in your all inclusive package. There was 1 entertainment guy offering boules game however more would be available in season.
The only downside we experienced was the evening entertainment catered more for other European ethnicities and not in English but this did not spoil our time there, not sure if this would change when in season.
I have been holidaying in Turkey for over 15 years mainly in the Dalaman area. I did visit Kemer around 10 years ago but wasn’t impressed. I decided on joining my mum and her friend on this short break to Antalya as the price was fantastic, and a bit of me time. I was not disappointed. I plan to return later in the year with my family.
The food selection is very rich, not at the level of a gourmet restaurant, but no one will be hungry. Ice cream, drinks, fast food (pizza, burger, french fries, warm waffles) in the pool area all day.
The service is friendly, polite, helpful. Great location! Near the beach, a long promenade on the beach area for walking.
Bus stop nearby, bus ticket approx. 1.5 euros. A shopping street next to the hotel with typical Turkish cheap goods.
The mosque is next door, so keep in mind that you can hear prayers even at night. But I took it as part of the culture and I didn't let it bother me.
Nice big hotel with friendly staff in a good location! Hard to find something better for that price!
Suitable for couples, families with children, pensioners.
After a couple of beers we headed to our rooms.
Rooms were spacious and spotless with tea, coffee and a mini bar with soft drinks and water as part of the AI concept. The beds were a little hard, but I slept no problem. The air conditioning was very effective and cooled the room quickly.
The bathroom was spacious with a large shower unit which included a marble seating area with a large basin and a copper bowl to pour water from the basin over your head (Turkish bath style).
Only problem we had with the room was we had to visit reception a few times to get the key cards reprogrammed.
Food, although nice, was not in my opinion the best, too fish orientated for my liking with the same type grilled fish available almost every night. Salsd and fruit was fresh and plentiful.
Don’t know if the restaurant was short staffed but the staff at times were not very helpful or friendly. If you were not down at the restaurant first thing it was often difficult to find a table that had been made up despite there being plenty of empty tables. If you asked for a table to be made up for you, you were given a look of disapproval as if you should just go and get cutlery and napkins yourself, you were never sat down and never offered a drink by the waiter, not on for a 5 star Hotel.
Smashing big pool, kids pool and splash pool with slides for the kids and the young at heart, loads of Sun beds, however shortage caused by the usual selfish people who throw a towel down in the morning and return hours later. The pool bar served all the usual alcoholic and soft drinks and the snack bar served tasty burgers, chips and Pizza which were made to order.
Just outside the hotel out the back exit, on the way to the beach, is a small river which is inhabited by loads of turtles, some at least a metre in length.
The private beach was huge, beautiful and sandy, great for people who are a little unsteady as there are no rocks or stones on entering the sea. Didn’t like that there were no tables or hooks to hang your bags, nor did I like the practice at the beach bar of pre pouring and stacking beer on the bar top, beer goes through a chiller for a reason, this was done whether the bar was busy or not.
Only a suggestion, it would have been great if each bar stocked a carton of long-life milk for those of us who like tea with milk, although we are few and far between at that side of Turkey.
Don’t know why the British are not attracted to this side of Turkey, the beaches, bars and shopping are amazing.
All in all another great holiday and if the price was right, which on this occasion it was, I would certainly visit again.
Rooms clean.
When you check in you recive card for one for person free pool towel, Room every day clean,
