Overall 5 stars: The GOs (staff) are wonderful. All are friendly, warm, attentive, caring and each of them makes you feel that you matter. That is brilliant and a real credit to Club Med and Palmiye head Gianni.. Water-skiing wait times can be improved. It’s a great holiday - you can be as active or as relaxed as you want. Loads of water sports, tons of tennis, lots of exercise classes, volleyball, football, gym, hammam, massages etc. Lots for the kids, late-night parties with DJs for the adults. Or just kick back and relax by the various pools. Or combine a bunch of the above. If you’re coming for a holiday with a wide variety of high-quality activities and entertainment, catering for both children and adults alike, I would absolutely recommend Club Med Palmiye. If you’re coming solely for water-skiing, I’m less sure, due to possibly long wait times (which is an issue for senior and sports management to address) and due to variability of weather conditions (leading to closure of water-skiing). The water-ski staff are excellent. I came for 2 weeks, specifically for water-skiing, so my review will focus mostly on that. Water-skiing: Fantastic team! Sasha, Hugo, Ferzen and Celal on the jetty, as well as the boat drivers. All lovely people, all very caring, all giving me tips throughout on how to improve. I started out as a beginner on 2 skis, then wakeboard and finally monoski. The team are top class, 100%! So my comments below are directed at the Club Med management, and absolutely not the team on the jetty. I repeat, they were fantastic and an absolute credit to Club Med. Water-skiing wait time: Room for improvement. Guests would benefit notably from the team having more flexibility as to how to allocate the boats between the 2 jetties (1 for adults, 1 for children). During my stay, there were very few children (schools had restarted), yet on many occasions there was 1 boat allocated to the children’s jetty, sitting idle for a lot of the time, or servicing max 1-2 children. Contrast that with the adult jetty where there were usually 20-30 people waiting, with 3 boats (and on numerous occasions 2 boats if 1 didn’t turn up or if a driver went for a break [20-30 minutes]). That resulted in having only one 3-5 minute excursion per hour (ie 3-4 runs in the 4 hour morning session and similar in the 3 hour afternoon session). Guests’ experience of water-skiing at the Club (and desire to return to the Club for water-skiing) would benefit greatly from management addressing this e.g. run more than 3 boats on the main jetty (addressing any safety issues of too much boat traffic around the jetty - I’m sure there is a reasonable and practical solution), extra boats so that there are always at least 3 boats (ideally more) running on the main jetty at any one time, splitting adults between the 2 jetties based on ability, closing 1 jetty during times of low demand and combining the boats to service the remaining jetty etc.). * The key elements to this working better are to have more boats and allow the GOs on the jetty to make decisions - in real time - as to how to allocate and transfer the boat resources between the jetties. They need to have the ability to be adaptable and flexible. * Waiting 1 hour for each 3-5 minute run is too long. Waiting <30 minutes is far more reasonable. Water-ski weather conditions in Sep ‘23: winds, waves, undercurrent, leading to safety-related closure of water-skiing, meant that I probably lost about 30% of my water-skiing accessible time over my 2 weeks. That’s a lot (for anyone coming purely for water-skiing, like me). Obviously, weather conditions are not in management's control. One more thing: Water-skiing and various other activities are closed on Saturdays to allow the GOs a day off. I totally understand and respect this but guests have limited holiday time and are making an active choice with their time and money to come to Club Med, many of them based on the availability and variety of activities. So it would be great if the Club made arrangements to keep the water-skiing open on Saturdays as well (staff rotation of day off, additional staff etc.). App suggestion: The water-ski conditions in September can be variable. Too wavy, too windy, strong undercurrent (but the weather temperatures are much better than July/August when it’s too hot). For safety reasons, that can lead to closure (and rightly so). However, instead of guests having to walk to the jetty to find out if open/closed, Club could update live on the Club Med app (eg “we’re closed”, “check back in 15/30/45 etc minutes”, “we will reopen in 10/15/20 etc minutes”). The rest of my stay: Senior Management: Gianni (village head) - superb! Such energy and warmth. A fantastic listener, always doing rounds speaking to guests, addressing any issues raised, always striving to improve the Club. And his long hours: 8am-11pm at the very least. Never flagging in energy. Always smiling. Amazing! Harrison (senior management working alongside Gianni) - really good! Lovely spirit, again always attentive, warm, a wonderfully positive, sunny disposition. Water activities: Vincent (head of water sports) - lovely person. Welcoming personality and good energy. Always receptive to guests’ feedback. Actively strives to address and resolve issues that will improve the guest experience. The water-ski team: Sasha, Hugo, Ferzen, Celal and the boat drivers - the best! (I’ve already commented on them at the top but want to make sure they’re appreciated by all). Boat excursion: Charlotte and Alexia - lovely people, friendly, accommodating. Dining: Oguz (head of dining) - lovely person! Really warm and caring. Accommodated any and all of my requests. Took wonderful personal care of me, including the book-in-advance restaurants. The variety of food at mealtimes is excellent. Quality also generally very good. Special mention to the “white party” evening on Friday nights. Lovely setting. And to anyone that goes to the Club, it is well worth the effort to dress in all-white for that evening. You will be in a pretty small minority if you don’t. And it’s nice to make the effort - you will also enjoy it more. Entertainment and shows: Alba (head) - wow what energy! The shows are very good. High energy, entertaining, lively, high standard (to my knowledge, none of the GOs are professional dancers, singers etc yet they put on top quality, highly entertaining performances). Trapeze: I don’t recall the names of the GOs but good fun and something different. They take care of you well, they instruct you well and all of them are caring and friendly. Reception: Sercen - fantastic! He checked me in and helped me on a few occasions during my stay. Warm, friendly, helpful. A lovely person. Room cleaning: Sensihan - lovely lady, professional, kept my room to a very high standard throughout my stay. Thank you Club Med Palmiye for a wonderful holiday!!…
