Firstly, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Lunch was pretty good too. Our room was a little small and dated, but very clean. And what a view! We were looking straight out onto the sea. So why horses for courses? Well, I like to laze about on a lounger on the beach all day. You are not going to get that in Kalkan. The only beach is the town beach which really isn't up to much. The Kulube has its own seafront which is rare for the resort. No beach, but terraces and decking from where you can get in and out of the sea via ladders. My wife was very happy with that, but I prefer a beach. But the thing that really swings it is 'the hill'. There's not much around the Kulube in the way of bars or restaurants and wherever you go, you have a very, very steep hill to climb first. We climbed it at least once a day, but it's only a couple of quid in a taxi. Tight Yorkshireman! For location, I would score it a 1. My wife would score it 4. So let's call it a 2. We had a great holiday, a lovely time. Would I go back, no. But my wife would. As I say, horses for courses. Best places to eat in Kalkan. I'll do separate reviews later. The Blue Marlin. Great seafood and not expensive. Belgins Kitchen. Home cooked food served on the roof. Great value. Maybeyn. Best shish I've had. Lamb quality 1st class. If you fancy a change from beachfront Kulube. Go to the harbour by the town beach. You can get a free boat to 3 or 4 beach clubs across the bay. Worth a go.

After our Crete holiday was cancelled due to Covid , we re -arranged a holiday to Turkey instead. Kulube Hotel was fantastic, we had an upgrade to a suite with sea view and.... A private infinity pool!! Gorgeous room ( bathroom maybe needs updating a little) but it was clean & fine. Views amazing over Kalamar Bay. Breakfast was served outside on lovely terrace. Sunbathing platforms were great, sea gorgeous clear & warm. Swimming pools great. Beach bar/restaurant served great lunches - an amazing guy ran it... he worked so hard and looked after us really well. Prices are great - everything very reasonable compared to euro prices. Hotel was quiet when we were there - I guess due to Covid. Its quite a long steep walk into Kalkan town centre... we did it once ... & got a taxi back for only £2.50! But if you want a short walk to dinner I’d go to House Kitchen & Bar which is just round the corner or the fish restaurant at top of hill on left. Fab fab holiday ... so good we have booked for 2021 😊

Lovely, friendly hotel the staff were super,so helpful and went over and above to make your stay more comfortable especially Unum (hope I got your name right)at the salt water pool bar! Turkish breakfast was really good , everything was fresh and well presented. We were in a superior room and the view was breathtaking, really clean and comfortable, bedding and towels changed regularly. The only thing I could improve on is the wi fi reception in the room which was very poor but able to pick it up by the salt water pool bar. Kalkan was fabulous lots of lovely restaurants to choose from and so quaint and pretty. Nice quiet relaxed atmosphere. There’s a steep hill into the town but the taxi is just 250tl . We walked into the town and got a taxi back. Would definitely recommend the Kulube and would certainly return.

After months of pandemic my husband and I wanted a quiet breakaway. We didn’t want a large hotel and sea views were important so we chose the Kulube. What a find!Perfectly positioned on a secluded bay with superb sea views. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We plumped for superior suite with sea view and it was well worth the extra money. All Covid 19 precautions are followed by the hotel and it was very clean. The steps down to the sea and private cove are not for the faint hearted and the hotel should maybe put sone ropes up to make it easier. So definitely not recommended for people with mobility problems. However once the steps were negotiated, to sit by the infinity pool amongst the pomegranate trees was sheer bliss.

We stayed in June 2019 for 10 days and had an amazing time. The scenery is simply stunning, amazing views, two beautiful pools and obviously the private decking and beach cove area. We actually got engaged there and with the help of the manager and staff my fiancé managed to set up the most beautiful, private and perfect proposal. Pics attached. The staff really went out there way to help change the sun bed decking area into something simply stunning. Good food and drinks, staff lovely. I’ve been to Turkey 8 time’s and this was my second visit to Kalkan. We will definitely return to the kulube. The only downside for us was booking a premium room but there was a bollard in the way of the sea view. Don’t really think this is there issue though it was Thomas cook who should probably have tiered the room prices into basic, restricted view and premium. The room itself was beautiful and you still had an amazing view - we just knew it wasn’t quite as good as some of the others. The staff did try to help and move us but due to the hotel being full and only a room with no balcony (but incredible view) was available, so we stayed put. The walk into town is up a hill but lovely, and cabs cheap if not. We mixed it up! I am sure there are places with grander rooms and decor but you won’t find somewhere as peaceful and serene! We hope to be back soon, thanks for an amazing stay x
