We had a lovely stay here despite the fact we were sick :(. It's a bit hard to find so make sure you have a map before you come! But the location is very good (right in the centre of the old town). There are three rooms and a common area (with air conditioning- a lifesaver in the humid heat). The owner is very lovely, very helpful, knows the area very well and is willing to help with anything (laundry, getting around, local tips).

We stayed at Kales Homestay 2 last month and I can say exactly the same things as Tina v. It was the worst experience we have ever had in all of our travels across the world. We don't mind run-down,as long as it's clean, but we draw the line at filthy dirty! It was disgustingly dirty when we moved in! The kitchen utensils had to be washed, they were covered in old food. The shower and toilet had to be cleaned, in fact, we cleaned the whole place before feeling comfortable to use anything! The toilet "door", a plastic concertina contraption, was broken and couldn't close properly. No privacy in the toilet! When we tried to get out of this booking to find somewher else to stay, Katja, the owner, would not let us cancel without paying. In the end, she said she'll give us a discount. WHICH NEVER HAPPENED! She was very rude the day we left and even swore at us! I also have photos of the dirtiness of Kales Homestay 2. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!

We are a mature couple who stayed at Kales Homestay 2 for two nights from the 6 to 8 June 2014. Katja the owner was very nice when we met her but later turned out to be quite rude. Our stay at Kales Homestay 2 was a disaster. I have never seen such a filthy place in my life. I doubt if the bathroom and toilet and kitchen have ever been cleaned. The mould and grime built up in the bathroom is shocking. "Health risk" is the best word to describe this place. Walking up to the roof top is dangerous as the railing is very frail and on the roof is debris and dirt and absolutely NO railing at all. You can walk straight off the roof with nothing to stop you! Walking down the few stairs to the back yard/garden? you will also find no railing. We had to wash the dirty dishes of the previous travellers and even those that were "washed", we washed again before we could use it. As we supplied our credit card details when we booked, we could not just leave as we would have been charged. When we wanted to pay, we were informed that they do not accept credit cards, although the web site clearly states that credit cards are accepted. Across from the accommodation is a taxi rank. It is absolutely impossible to sleep as it is never quiet. The only positive point is that the beds are very comfortable. The shared toilet has a piece of consertina plastic that is suppose to be the door, but there is no privacy as you can see the person sitting on the toilet! There is more that I can add here, but let me summarise by saying that we will NOT RECOMMEND KALES HOMESTAY 2 TO ANYONE! ( we do have photos as proof of the dirty accommodation)

The room was super comfy, had a private balcony, a hanging light fixture made of cassette tapes, and access to the rooftop and kitchen. But the real highlight is Katja, who instantly charms with her stories of dealing with idiosyncrasies of owning a laundromat in historic Antalya. We will never forget our stay here!
