Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Holiday one this year, Azak Hotel, Alanya, do not confuse with either Azak Suite or Azak Beach hotels, my stay was for 11 nights on a half board basis. Arrived at the hotel around 2:00am met by the hotel security and night receptionist, booking in simple, straight to my room, shown facilities, not a bad start.
The room, not large but as a solo traveler this was not a problem, I would think that more than 2 people to a room would be impossible and there certainly would be a lack of wardrobe space for more than one. Bed ample and comfortable enough, bathroom quite spacious, the shower is a wet room facility and works well. For those with enough hair to require one a hairdryer, towels, soaps etc. There was a good balcony from which you had a side view of the sea, good people watching spot. All rooms are air conditioned which is part of the room cost, so no extra spending required to keep cool. The room was cleaned everyday, the towels were changed as required and the bed was changed at least twice during my 11 day stay.
The Restaurant, food is served beside the pool or in the buffet area, all meals were buffet style, with chef's available at dinner to serve hot food. Breakfast is what you would expect from a continental hotel, along with plenty of fresh bread, there were cereals, jams, meats, fresh salad items and during my stay boiled eggs and various takes on scrambled eggs, certainly enough variety to suit everyone. The evening meal was again what any traveller would expect, lots of freash salad and some reconstituted salads, the main let down was the choice of hot food, which consisted of a single meat and on one occasion fish dish, rice/cous cous, a vegetable and chips, I think this is the only area where the hotel did not keep up its high standards. There was some entertainment provided, but I think the Hotel need to advertise this more to the guests as generally you did not find out until you were having your evening meal.
The Pool not large, but ample enough and very few loungers about 12, which unless you were up with a towel before 7:00am you would be unable to use. Nice bar area which served food all day, this was a great shady spot to use between 1:00pm & 3:00pm when the temperature rose above 38' C, just too hot even for a hardened traveller.
The Beach literally at the far side of the pool bar area, walk ways down to the loungers on the beach, my guess would be about 4 km of sandy beach. Lounger plus shade 8 lira (£3.00ish) per day. the attendant will bring drinks and food from the pool bar to you, so it is possible to spend somewhere near 9 hours just relaxing in the sun. There are plenty of watersports for the adventurous, the sea is as always in Turkey wonderful, but be warned until you have worked out the best way of getting over the drop at the waters edge onto a stony section, which then drops away into quite deep water, it can be a little offputting, don't be.
How would I sum up the Azak Hotel, good clean hotel, excellent staff, great location on the beach, near to bars, restaurants, shops but quiet in the evenings, could make the evening meal a little more interessting but all in all one of the better 3 star hotels I've discovered in Turkey and I would happily recommend the hotel to freinds and family.

We arrived at Azak Sunday early morning and got something like the last free cabin, went to bed and complained about the room next morning. It showed that it was not the Hotel mistake and they changed our romm to a very nice room on 6 floor with a vue ower the sea. The food was very good the compleate week, and the servants were a delight nice, fun and helpfull. The position of the Hotel was direkt down to the waterside with nice sand. All together a wonderfull week.

Azak hotel is located at the beautiful Cleopatra beach, 20 minutes far from the city center (by foot). People in the hotel are marvelous, not pushy turkish people but very available and polite. The waiters are allways smiling (despite they work there whole day long!) and room service is quite good. Rooms are very clean, the view from the balcony is beautiful, and the food is really really tasty. You have plenty of dishes to choose and everything is fresh and so tasty. Swimming pool is small but clean. There is a pool for children also. Azak hotel is great for staying in Alanya for ones who don't want all inclusive, it's at the very beach but still so close to the city and the marina in the other way...

The hotel is decent with a great location. However, there are couple of things that should be worked on. First, the towels are not changed every day which is in my opinion mandatory for the beach hotel. We used to wash them by ourselves. Also, you have to take your shower gel, shampoo, and soap since you will get those only when you check in. Two small shampoos and soaps are definitely not enough for the trip that lasts seven days or more. WIFI is very poor and available signals are kind of confusing since they have one for each floor and area but none of them works good. The beach waiter/guardian is very unpleasent and have his own and very strange rules of selling the sun beds. For example, you come early in the morning and ask for some of the beds in the first row he tells you "No, it's reserved." Then noone appears there for the whole day or someone who is not even the quest of the hotel takes those. When you ask if you can reserve for tomorrow he says "No way!". This guy really makes you feel kind of discriminated for your own money and dealing with him on daily basis can definitely ruin your vacation.

This relatively small hotel is one of wery few with a direct access to the beach, what was very convenient for us. The location of the hotel is about 20 minutes away from the downtown, and it is an interesting walk through the streets of Alanya. The hotel's bar is in natural shadow so it was plesent to chill here during the hot daytime. It's not directly open for the visitors outside of the hotel, what makes this place quiet in the evening. Cocktails were also quite decent, what I cannot say for many other places in Alanya. Guys working here are very helpful, they offer a great service and are actually the main reason why I'm happy to rate this place with 5 stars. Even if they may lack a bit of language skills, they will do their best to meet your needs, help you if you want to rent a car or find anything else. The rooms are not so big so don't expect a 5 star comfort. The meals are freshly prepared and not spicy, so if you are not to picky it should do. Once again dont expect too big choice of different foods at the buffet, as this is not some huge 5 star resort. This cozy and friendly atmosphere ist just what makes this place worth visiting.

Right on the beach beside shops and restaurants I stayed here for 2 days at the end of my holiday after a horrendous experience at 2 other hotels in Alanya. Room was really clean and food was good. I would like to thank all the staff for making me feel welcome.

Directly located in famous cleopatra beach of alanya, cable car to castle and damlatas cave just few meters a way from hotel also city center and night clubs in walking distance you can go everywhere by walking all nearby. Need to see also dim cave and dim river sure advice reception. We liked to stay here and spent full lovely days and activity

Perfect, small hotel, nice and friendly staff, every day clean rooms. Small pool very clean. Solid food, not so varios, but tasty. Serve fruit every day. Good location. Free wi fi almost everywhere in the hotel and on the beach.

"Read all comments below as they all can be useful. In July and August all rooms are exposed to heat and outdoor noise, but ask for the rooms facing the beach nonetheless, if you cannot sleep - enjoy the view!"
