To begin with, we'd like to say that if you want to have a silent and a carefree vacation in the middle of the city, you can choose it.
First of all, this is not the first time when we were there,we were met by the helpful staff. Registration was done in some minutes. The porter insisted to help us with the luggage. The flat, not the room, was clean. There were towels, slippers.
There is a bar, a clean pool with a bar and you can taste local ghiozleme. The restaurant is opened three times a day. The food is enough tasty and varied. We are not heavy eaters 😁 and it was enough for us. We like city hotels because they give us the opportunity to taste local food in local restaurants, markets etc.
The hotel is very clean, and this is the main reason why we have chosen it.
The staff is very attentive and receptive.
We'd like to thank for everything!🇲🇩
The staff is very nice and very polite. They helped us with our lugage. The rooms are nice, and big, and they are being cleaned everyday which is great. Clean pool, good solide wifi, lobby bar.
Maybe just not the food for our taste.
Recomending to everyone to visit Alanya and Lonicera hotel. 😊
All day and night coffe, cold juise, water. Refrigerator is not closed.
Dinner and lunch- very good.
Breakfast- poor. Mainly no omelet. Sousages- poor view.
Not far from sea, good location.
1. The food is terrible. I don't know how the people rated good the food.
We stayed for 7 days and the food was the same all days. Cooked curry chicken (very dry and chewy), cooked beef with vegetables - again very chewy, rice every day and pumpkin. For 7 days we had fish just one time. No sea food, no grilled meat/barbecue. Only boiled chewy meat with near no taste. Boiled sausages
The salad bar is excellent.
2. The table tennis is extremely poor. Broken tennis rockets, very cheap ball which did not bounce and the table is like these ones for kids. Me and my buddies play tennis very often and we were exited to play in the hotel - not worth it.
3. Our stay was all inclusive. And yes, we Bulgarians drink many beers. They give you bad looks if you go and order 5 beers for all guys on the table. They start to ask you how many people are on the table like you are lying. At the end of the day why you guys even care? I'm all inclusive and drinks are free. I can have as much as I like.
4. The beer is very watery of course. It's written Efes Pilsen but I had all the bottled beers in Alanya (Tuborg Gold, Efes Pilsen, Efes Malt, Bomonti) and not one tasted that watery.
They try to charge you even for the free cocktails at the bar. We had cocktails on the pool bar and the bartender said there are some free types of cocktails. The same day on the night bar the other bartender tried to sell them to me and when I told him they should be free he laughed and gave it for free. Not cool.
We paid for a Mojito - made with lemons, not lime, almost no rum for 10TL - not worth it.
5. BEWARE where you book your room. The hotel have 2 parts - old and reinovated. I'm not saying the old is bad but you might be disappointed on arrival. The new part have big balcons with newer baths and rooms.
6. The rooms are small. The toilet/bath smells very bad. I don't know where that smell comes from but its like a canal smell.
7. The pool is not bad. Nice comfortable sunbeds, but they are a low number. Not every day you can go to the pool because people leave their towels on the beds like they booked it for the whole day.
8. The hotel is Russian targeted. Full of russians and the food is prepared for them. I'm saying this cause I know what the russians eat. Not a singe hint that you are staying in Turkey. All the staff is from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan etc.
9. The staff is not very cool. They never say you "Good morning" or something like this. They barely speak English. They think everyone is Russian at their hotel. So if you are not Russian I don't recommend going there.
10. You can get a ticket from the reception for sunbeds and umbrellas. It's paid but still it's comfortable to get it right from the reception. 25TL for 4 sunbeds and 2 umbrellas is a good price.
11. The location of the hotel is very good. 5-8 minutes walk to the beach, many shops near but it;s very very noisy cause it's near a boulevard with a lot of traffic.
12. Very clear hotel. The cleaning lady comes every day and does a great job
In other words - Not a bad hotel for a 3 stars but don't expect much. If you have option to not pay for food just to sleep it's the best choice. As I said the food is so bad that we ate real turkish food in restaurants.
My family stayed for 9 nights and my girlfriend and I went to their place for dinner a couple times for 150 lira per person (the buffet was much worse than the local canteens which are cheaper). We paid and were told everything was included in the food area, including drinks.
We took our food, drinks and two 0.33ml beers. We were politely poured one by a staff member in the lounge. We had dinner and were about to leave, but on the way out, the employee complained to reception that we had drunk beers that was NOT included in the dinner and we had to pay another 200 lira for it!!!!
We were shocked. I started arguing, proving that "you said 150 lira included both drinks and food". But I was lied to that there was no such thing. Then I asked "why the f*kkk didn't you tell me in advance about paid drinks????". Everyone shrugged and smirked. I had to hand over the money.
It's just disgusting and shameful. Be careful in tourist hotels if you look European. Nasty staff are always looking for a way to cheat you. I've been living in Turkey for a long time and I've never encountered anything like this before, except for cabs in Istanbul.
On the last day at the hotel, we were tied up by the receptionist with a "nice conversation in Russian to find out how our vacation went". He stayed with us for more than two hours. Obviously, it was an attempt to warn against negativity after that incident in the restaurant. As you can see, it didn't work :)
Lonicera City Hotel located in Alanya ,it's nice city not far away from Antalya just 160 Km- 2 Hours by bus (25 Tl = 7$ ) The hotel is nice with nice hall, 2lifts with a nice Swimming pool, the hotel has two section, I had a Double room in second section on the fourth floor No :1404 for a night from 28 to29 -10-2017, the room were nice, clean and comfortable ,The bathroom was nice, Reception staff friendly ,Breakfast was nice, free WI-FI, nice location just 500 M from Otogar & not far from center, there are a many supermarkets too close, Coffee, Restaurants ,short walk to beach,Very good value, I recommend
The room for three is simply wonderful! Huge corner balcony, excellent large bathroom, hallway, free safe, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee set, slippers, mini-bar with mineral and plain water, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the second with two beds, two modern TVs with 4 Russian channels. The cleaning was at an excellent level, towels were changed every day, bed linen every three days. The bathroom only has soap and shower gel, but there is a rain shower and a niche for cosmetics.
The food at the hotel is not bad for a group of three, you won’t see any variety at the same time, but it won’t be the same every day. They gave me meat, fish, liver, turkey, chicken, lyu la, cutlets, meatballs. There was always enough fruit, even for breakfast. We simply ate too many strawberries; for several days we had them two, or even three times a day. Desserts here are modest, three or four no more. There are no queues, everything is always replenished, the waiters are excellent, they bring drinks and clear tables instantly! The drinks in the bars are not very bad: beer, white, red, rose wine, pomegranate sweet, water and ayran are freely available. They brew Turkish coffee for free! Self-service coffee machines, as well as lemonade machines! The hotel staff is very sociable and pleasant. Many speak and understand Russian, there are those who speak several languages, but understand almost nothing if you say it in response! (elderly waiter) But this makes it kind of fun! A woman is baking gozleme by the pool; if there is a queue, there is only 2 or 3 customers.
The sea and beaches are not all convenient, discount coupons are given for beach 11, but the best are definitely 1, 2, 15, 16, 17, they have convenient access. We rested for 16, having previously tried others. Beware of scammers - they sell sunbeds before the real scourge fights arrive, this is if you arrive early and the beach staff later. We had such a blast on beach 15! After that, they sunbathed on their mats.
There is no entertainment in the hotel, once a week there is live Turkish music and that’s it. We liked it, we walked in the evenings, went to the first and second Waikiki, went to Migros, went to the fish market to eat fresh fish. Fortunately, it’s a 10-minute walk up the street from the hotel. We ordered dorado and sea bass, the latter is much juicier and tastier! In the evenings we often sat in the bar and talked with other vacationers from Murmansk and Estonia
The transfer back was in a big bus; along the way they collected tourists from other hotels; the journey took a long time - more than 3 hours! I definitely recommend the hotel and wish everyone who chooses it a perfect holiday!!!
