- The time was 21:30, all the time we were swimming in the pool the staff saw it, and only after half an hour they decided to bother saying that there was chemicals in there and health problems could begin. For your information, it is not written anywhere until what time you can swim (although we have been to other hotels and calmly swam until 23:00). We decided to find out why this happened from the administration, they left us to blame, saying that our tour operator should talk about these moments, and in general supposedly “you see that no one is swimming, so it’s impossible”, that is, we must proceed from the fact that others are swimming there or No. So the pool is just for beauty.
- Cleaning woman. there was a knock on the room, we opened it, there was a cleaning lady standing there, we said that we’d be leaving in 5 minutes, she said sweetly Okay, after a while there was a knock on the door again, before we could leave we saw this picture - she furiously and brazenly entered our room while simultaneously talking on the phone , let me remind you that we were still getting ready to go out. Upon arrival in the room, we find that the cleaning lady rearranged my glasses that were lying on the sink, cleaned their closet, when the staff does not have the right to touch the personal belongings of hotel guests. Firstly, I couldn’t find them, and secondly, it was wildly unpleasant for me that someone was managing my things at all.
- Purity. That is, its absence, which is indicated by dust on the wallpaper, a terribly dirty air conditioner, peeling wallpaper, a cracked door, a rusty shower stall, no dryer, you have to dry it on anything. Bed linen with stains. Dirty mirrors, even after cleaning the room. We were told that linen and towels are changed every 3 days. Firstly, not everything was changed, for example, the sheets were changed, but they decided to leave the pillowcases; They gave me a smelly, damp towel, as if they had just brought it from the next room and hung it up nicely.
- The hotel is 4 stars, but this is a definite D if you compare price = quality.
- Among the advantages:
- In general, the food is delicious, you won’t go hungry.
- The hotel is located in the center, you can walk, close to the sea.
- The hotel itself is calm, the contingent is 40+.
I was unaware that Remi hotel belongs to the Kleopatra group
To take a bath in scalding or cold water, you cannot adjust it. Horrible food, just chicken, in 10 days 2x fish and of course chicken. Sometimes they even use leftover chicken from the day before, shred it and mix it with rice and to go with... chicken!!!!. I know the Kleopatra group doesn't have good food, but this was the worst hotel in the group.
To take a shower, only boiling or cold water, you cannot control the temperature. The rod that supports the shower curtain (yes, a very old curtain) was loose, so it wouldn't fall, they had a plastic bag tied to it.
Bed linen, just a sheet underneath, the top sheet doesn't exist, just a blanket to cover up.
In 10 days they never put clean bedding.
Friendly staff, shame they don't speak even basic English.
Good location, in town and near beach..
The good:
- Decent wifi. Worked all around the hotel and also in our room.
- Free safe in the room which was very appreciated
- The staff were helpful when we needed help and were very friendly.
- The location is also really good. Close to Mcdonald’s and Burger King (which you’ll later read I really needed). Very close to all the clubs and the strip and plenty of shops and restaurants all around the corner.
Now…… the bad:
- The pool, just horrendous. It’s small with about 20 sunbeds which wasn’t too bad for us as we came late august - but any other time of the year I feel would be very sparse. There are flies around the pool that honestly do not leave you alone. They’re on you constantly so you’re spending the whole time swatting them away.
- The rooms are basic. Not ideal. Mini fridge wasn’t cold, air con is not great, our twin room was absolutely tiny - when you opened the door it was close enough to hit the end of your bed. The showers temperature changes every 2 seconds and there’s no drainage in the bathroom so the floor just stays soaking wet from your showers for the entire holiday basically. There were cockroaches in our room which honestly made me feel sick but thank you to the staff for removing them.
- The food……… this was honestly close to ruining my entire holiday. There’s absolutely no choice at all. If you’re a fussy eater or just want any basic food do not bother at all. It’s all Turkish soups and stews. There’s no labels at all so you have no idea what you’re eating and allergies? Non existent apparently cause you’ll have no idea what’s in your food. No toaster for toast in the morning, no english breakfast food at all, no waffles / pancakes, no chips, no pizza, no burgers, no chicken, honestly nothing ideal. Had to spend a fortune just eating out every night instead. No ice cream or anything which I found surprising as it was almost reaching 40 degrees when we were there.
- The staff aren’t really attentive, didn’t ever ask us if we wanted a drink with our meals but seemed to be doing it with everyone else? Not really sure why. One of the staff members asked why I was only eating bread so we told him there wasn’t much variety with food to which he just laughed and walked away.
I don’t really like to give bad reviews to be honest, but I don’t think the reviews for this place aligned with the hotel at all and I just wanted to give an honest picture of what the hotel was like and our experience with it.
I liked it - strategic location in the center of Alanya, close to the beach, the cable car station to the castle and to the harbor and shopping center.
Friendly ,helpful and fun staff, fantastic Turkish gastronomy and tea.
In the bar near the pool (open 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.) you can have local drinks .
There is the Turkish bath in the hotel with possibility to choose different kind of massage.
On the beach you must pay deck chair and parasol.
