We were in a penthouse suite (3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms) for 5 and 10 days at the beginning of September.
The Resort is somewhat outdated but clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff and English is spoken to a sufficient degree. Rooms are well cleaned every day and beach towels can be changed every day. WiFi, for a fee, works throughout the complex. Food is also fine, although eating out a few times is not a luxury.
The swimming pool at building B is a lovely place, although 70 steps must first be taken.
This period of the year there are plenty of sunbeds at all swimming pools and on the beach.
In short, if you don’t mind having to (stair)walk a lot, like the Turske cuisine and know in advance that it is a somewhat outdated Resort you can enjoy yourself here. If we have to assess value for money we give a 7.5.
All I can say is it is not 5*....... The rooms were spacious, nice and cleaned every day but the food in the restaurant was terrible. There was basic food every lunch and evening time and most of this was repeated for the 5 nights we stayed. On one particular night, they had some lovely turkey skewers but it was on a first come first serve basis. As soon as they were finished, we were told they wouldn't be serving anymore which was a disappointment as that was the only decent bit of food that we enjoyed in all our stay. Seems like it was cheaper options of food served which does not reflect the amount you pay to stay at this hotel.
They have a snack bar which is open every afternoon beside the main pool but they really need to staff this! You could be waiting upto an hour in 40 degrees for a pizza or burger as they have 2 members of staff running this facility which is not acceptable for a hotel which is huge and boasts of having 300 rooms/apartments.
The children's entertainment is the same every night where they sing and dance to songs in various languages but it is repetitive and after the second night, my kids did not want to attend this.
Some staff attempt to engage in conversation even with the language barrier, but majority of the staff come across as very rude and ignorant.
I asked for plasters from the lady at reception and was met with an arrogant reply informing me the supermarkets sell plasters with no regards to why I needed this (my little boy had cut his toe and was bleeding at this point) .
Definitely NOT a 5* hotel and would not visit here Again.
If you are a drunken German in a deranged state, then they will carry you to your room and fluff up the feather bed, and if you are Russian, they will ask you which room you are from and, at most, they will tell you which side it is on.
The hotel itself is not very good, if it’s your first time, they’ll put you in the farthest building, if you’re with children and a stroller, then they’ll move the guests closer especially for you, and you and your stroller will be given the farthest building, just for a laugh.
The food is not enough for five stars, there is a grill every day, but not every day you can find something to eat.
The sea is far away, the beach is next to the cemetery, and that would be fine, you need to be afraid of the living, not the dead, but the sea is icy, since the Dimchai River flows into it not far, which is not famous for swimming even in the sweltering heat, and in the fall it only cool beer, quickly and free.
The rooms are not for everyone, there are some with an excellent view of the sea and everything on the sides of it, there are the first floors with a view of the dandelion and grasshopper.
There is animation, with the caveat that if you are European, then they will add points to you in the game, will not take away your life in another game, and will count the score in your favor anywhere, especially if your opponent is from Russia.
Security here is more than completely absent. If the blue bull considers you a red rag, then you can only rely on your skills in hand-to-hand or close combat, if you do not have sufficient skills in communication and in taming various animals. But if the bull turns out to be from Europe, and you are from Russia, then no matter how right you are, you will be wrong.
The reception is mostly focused on smiling at German guests. If you are not lucky enough to be a Russian when communicating with the reception, then be prepared for rolling your eyes at every question you ask, for a lack of interest in resolving your issues and for partially ignoring you and your questions.
The staff, including bartenders, waiters and cleaning ladies, treat you equally well/normally.
In general, I do not recommend the hotel. For this money you can find something better, and if you pay a little extra, you can spend time in a good hotel without thinking about the described problems and difficulties.
We were lucky enough to have a family room with sea view to one side and children's pool to the other.
The children's pool and waterslides were open from 10-12 and 14-16 and we were at the pool ourselves so it didn't bother us.
The landscape is very hilly, so you have to be prepared to walk a few floor meters, personally, according to my watch, I covered 80-120 stairs a day.
They have a shuttle bus to the beach, or you can walk down there in almost the same time as the bus.
They have their own beach with an associated bridge where you can also lie down and sunbathe. The water was clear and warm, really a pleasant experience. The beach is very rocky and there are lots of rocks, I didn't find it very child friendly.
The food at the hotel was so nice, there was a grill buffet and lots of different dishes, but the icing on the cake was their Turkish dishes. There was almost always staff at the buffet and the signage was as it should be.
They also have an A'la carte restaurant, which I can also highly recommend.
The animation team were really good at getting people active at the pool. On the other hand, their Mini disco was a bit cheesy, but the children enjoyed themselves.
The SPA department is fantastic, although it is a bit difficult to speak English with the masseuse, the woman you book with can easily speak English and recommend what massage you should have.
The only complaint I have is that their free Wifi was really bad, especially because I didn't want to pay €15 per device that needed to be online (I had 4 with me).
