Great family holiday- tips and info

First of all, we have just arrived back from an 11 night stay and all I can say is please do not be put off by any bad reviews. I was so sceptical about coming here after reading so many reviews and I was scared to death that we were going to be spending hundreds of pounds tipping staff just to be left alone. What a load of rubbish, I didn’t see or hear anyone tipping anyone and staff certainly did not expect anything! We stayed in coconut, which was right opposite the main bar/reception area and perfectly between the pools. We had no idea of the layout, but to make it plain and simple as there are several pools with slides on site at one end, and at the other is a large figure 8 pool which is huge, this has a bar/food area, shops and passageway to The Island - sorry also at the other end there is also food and drinks available however we avoided this pool/slides because of the pure volume of people, you need to get your towels out at 7 to 7:30 am otherwise you cannot get round the pool. Our room was spacious and absolutely fantastic, the Aircon once it gets going is amazing! The cleaners came daily but don’t actually clean, they changed our bedding daily and swept the floor/emptied the bins but did not actually clean any of the bathroom/sink which was fine with us. Fresh towels are given daily/left in your room. We were on the second floor and had no issues at all. The last couple of nights due to an influx of people was a bit noisy in the corridor, but we were already awake and it literally lasted seconds. tips for anyone going, take some big, plastic empty bottles, because staff are more than happy to fill these up with Coke/lemonade/drinks from the bar otherwise you get tiny little half cups and if you asked for ice, you can literally get 2 to 3 mouthfuls before needing a refill. The local gin and whisky is free and they do have a cocktail which is a bit like sangria for free. Everything else you have to pay for. We did order two cocktails one night- an espresso martini and a sex on the beach and they were both absolutely vile, the espresso martini was the sangria mix with a shot of espresso! Meal times were quite hectic again especially the last few days because of the pure volume of people that had arrived, there were quite allot of queues for food in all areas in the restaurant, you had to walk around several times to find a table, but again this did not bother us as we were in no rush. Plenty of choice with food, was quite repetitive most nights, but there is such a variety of foods, you get your chicken/Turkey in sauce with choice of rice/potato/chips etc and on the far side there was always grilled/barbecued meat and pizzas made fresh in front of you every- however there were huge queues for these people push in a lot and literally do not care! Water is available in fridges in the restaurant however, they are usually room temperature. There are coffee machines available at breakfast, lunch and tea along with Turkish tea. Most of the time, the fizzy drinks, especially the Pepsi was always flat. Shops around the pool are not that expensive as many reviews said and you can buy gift/present/clothing for reasonable prices. So let’s talk the ISLAND……. You literally walk past the pool and under a passageway, and you arrive at the island! It is huge and has two big huge main pools surrounded with deckchairs, and then a pirate ship at the end with slide and a tiny lazy river again with chairs everywhere. Then there are two big main areas of where the Slides app, you just leave your shoes/belongings around, but again, if you want a sunbed you need to get there around 7 am. So during the day the food areas on the island open from 12 till 4 pm, it is a buffet style help yourself with bars also next to them. There is definitely a lot more variety of food than at the hotel bar. There is waffles open 12 till 3:45 pm, there was a chicken, KFC style shop, again, fresh pizzas been made, but not many people seem to know about this. On an evening, the entertainment is in the amp a theatre which was always a kids disco first, and then a main act slasher at 9:30 pm which lasted around 45 minutes and these were absolutely fantastic, the whole 11 nights we were there there was something different on. There is a zip wire, which you can pay to use, a treetop adventure, foot pool! We did this, and it was really good fun! There are shops, a bar/seating area which always had live music on every night, and several bars throughout the island open. We thought there would’ve been a disco/games at The Island 🛶 every night until 2 am, but it was more of just a DJ and a couple of seats, where people went, had a cocktail and seem to disappear. So the only downside to the whole holiday was that everything was extra money… Stuff sometimes walked around with milkshake/fresh fruit/drinks, trying to sell them and lure children in. Ice cream was only available between two till 4 pm, which was a feast or a twister, there was ice cream parlours, which ranged from £2.50 to £9!!!!! Coffees were anything between £3.50 to 5, there were the ice cream rolls, which were £9. There were many trips that you could do. The watersports were really expensive as well. But literally everywhere U-turn. There was someone selling something, smoothies, ice coffees, toys, hiring scooters and children’s toys. There is a gaming area, but it was something like £9 for 30 minutes. And an absolute must start… My husband booked a trip on the BIG KRAL ship, and it was literally the highlight of the holiday! You get a free coach, and it is only five minutes down the road, you go on a five star ship, you get free drinks/beer/buffet style, tea/games/film party/watching the sunset /jumping off the boat and night jumping !!! it was absolutely incredible and just so much fun!!! cannot recommend it enough, it cost us £110 for three adults and one child. Tattoo parlour at the Island was literally fully booked every night! My husband got one on the last day and it’s absolutely gorgeous!!!!…

Brilliant holiday

The hotel is brilliant for family’s and kids it’s close to Eftalia island where all the bigger slides are. Also close to the shopping and markets so perfect location. We stayed in the twin room which was perfect for us and the kids the cleaners were brilliant it was always kept clean with fresh towels every day. The animation team are brilliant especially speedy he is brilliant with the kids and goes the extra mile for you to make sure your holiday is Perfect.

Vacation:)

Great sunbeds with good pool. Delicious food and great staff which are engaging and funny. The rooms were good and the location is very good. We were getting looked after at all times and Ali and Ahmed were always telling us about activities in the hotel area.

Brilliant hotel

Thank you Ali and Ahmed for always hosting fantastic entertainment. Brilliant with the kids and always made time for them. Very friendly and couldn't fault them in any way. Lots for the children to do with plenty of water slides available and the island facilities are amazing. Definately recommend this hotel.

lovely place to go on holiday, wishsweeet ( ahmet) from entertainment team was so lovely made our holiday great, really friendly and makes everyone feel welcome, would recommend this hotel, lots of pools and slides, enjoyable for kids and adults, beach party on the night time is also a vibe we love to go

A family break away

I’ve had the most wonderful amazing holiday the entertainers the summer squad are amazing and funny they are all lovely and caring people to work with they take great care of you and love to have conversations they are all fantastic people and the hotel is amazing and the best I have been to so far I will definitely come again maybe next year but I highly recommend the hotel to a lot of people animation Ali at darts game disco and bingo they are all fantastic

The best GANG STUFF!!

Great family vacation experience.

First family vacation in a few yrs and first time in Turkey. Can’t fault the location, the hotel and the activities available for kids and adults. All staff were very friendly and on hand to help out with any issues. Looking forward to coming back next year.
