I stay several times a year at the Marhaba Palace Hotel, and every time I visit, I feel like home. This is the perfect place to relax while enjoying your stay. The setting is beautiful, with direct access to a superb beach, and the pools are always spotless and well maintained. There are enough deckchairs for everyone, even in high season, which is a real plus!
The animation team is exceptional! A huge thank you to Momo, Kris, Ricardo and Sophie, who do an incredible job from morning to night, not to mention their great shows every night. Their energy and passion are admirable.
When it comes to catering, everything is perfect: the food is varied, delicious and in sufficient quantity. I particularly appreciate the restaurant located on the beach, where you can have lunch facing the sea in a peaceful atmosphere. The evening service is divided into two services to avoid crowding, allowing for a quiet dinner, without too much noise or waiting for dishes.
A huge crush on Missaoui, as well as a special thought for Chokri, Saif, Whabi and Hema, not forgetting all the staff, always welcoming and with little care. Special mention to the breakfast ladies, who keep their smile despite sometimes demanding customers. Many thanks in particular to the lady in charge of omelets and the one who prepares traditional Tunisian bread: they are adorable!
The rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with very comfortable bedding. I particularly appreciate that the toilet is separate from the bathroom, a detail that has become rare in hotels. We are still asking for a room on the fourth floor to find Houde, our favorite maid, who is doing a remarkable job.
The hotel is conveniently located, just a five-minute walk from El Kantaoui port and its lively square. In the surrounding area, many shops, cafes and restaurants invite you to discover, not to mention the illuminated fountain and the funfair that add a touch of magic to the evenings.
The Marhaba Palace also offers an exceptional massage service and various activities at very reasonable prices.
If you’re planning to stay in Port El Kantaoui, look no further: opt for Marhaba Palace, you won’t be disappointed!

I spent 10 lovely days in March in this hotel and I will be happy to return and recommend it to others during the out of season period.
Positives: The weather was pleasant and sunny. I loved the reception and the bar area. There was a proper hotel feel about them.) I quite liked the restaurant, the food and the opportunity to eat outside in the fresh air. I liked the view outside the bar and the restaurant. The outside pool and area around it looked lovely. I really loved the beach and how clean and maintained it was. I loved the staff and the service in this hotel. I loved the way I felt while being at this hotel. :-)
So I am going to look for other opportunities to come back.
Constructive criticism(s);
Once I came to the breakfast at 6:30 and the waiter already put the staff like books and bread on the tables which were close to the windows so no one except the people he was saving these tables for could use. I felt quite angry as everyone was allowed to sit where they wanted at breakfast and lunch and not to allow the guest to sit in the lovely spot at 6:30 in the empty restaurant was not nice.
Every morning I swam in indoor swimming pool and it was nice and relaxing experience however the windows in that area need cleaning from both outside and inside as they look unloved. The carpets in the corridor were not hoovered for a week.
I think that the evening shows start really late. On several occasions I saw many people sitting in the bar in the buzzing atmosphere which would die out with the lack of the entertainment and people returning to their rooms.
The spa experience was really disappointing for me personally as I read good reviews about the spa left by other guests.
My friend and myself booked two different types of hammam packages and I also booked a sports massage. What I got with my basic package for 50 dinars is 10 minutes in a steam room. Then the lady scrubbed me for 7 minutes. The hair was left dirty. My friend paid 22 pounds for her hammam package which also included some kind of mud put on her body. Ironically after hammam we both went straight to the bath in our hotel rooms to finish off our cleaning.
What I did like about "massage" is that the room was very clean and smelled lovely but what I didn't like was the actual massage which is not a massage but more of a stroking of your body in the nice environment.
After this I ended up going to another hotel spa every day to have proper treatments as there was much better equipped spa with a properly trained staff.

Just returned from my 2nd visit to this hotel, the 1st visit was to celebrate NYE which was brilliant, so if anyone is thinking of booking just do it, there was a Gala meal with 2 sittings, food was brilliant, and the evening later was fantastic, and weather was very good too. Just returned from 4 days to celebrate my birthday, and definitely didn't disappoint. Weather first of all was amazing, bikini days every day. All the staff who work here are brilliant and always stop for a chat. Only a 10 minute walk to the harbour, yes you can get a bit of hassle but you can pick up some amazing bargains, and Tunisians are so friendly they'll talk to you for hours. Food at the hotel is brilliant, I've stayed at so many hotels in Tunisia over the years and this one is by far the best. Your room has kettle and water provided everyday, kept immaculately clean, and if you have mobility issues this hotel has slopes everywhere so you can get around very easily. Loads of sunbeds around the pool and on the beach, and outside bar was still open till 6. Shows in evenings were good fun, and if your an early bird definitely go onto the beach and head right to catch amazing sunrises. Beach towels are 20 dinars deposit but you do get back when you hand your card in. Honestly staff are just Brilliant, definitely give it a go, there's nothing bad at all about this hotel. Huge thank you to everyone, and see you all in February to celebrate Valentines Day..💖

Having just stayed at the Marhaba Palace for a week I decided to provide an honest view of this hotel. There are good reviews and also bad reviews, which all carry valid points of this hotel. I will break down my review into good points and bad points, which will hopefully provide you with an idea of what to expect. This is meant to be a 5 star hotel, however having stayed in many hotels set your expectations at about a 3 star.
Good Points: The hotel is located on the beach which was nice with plenty of sun beds. There are two outdoor pools, the main pool is salt water and the smaller pool fresh water. This we feel should have been the other way round. The pools are clean and there are plenty of sunbeds around each pool, and there is always someone there to help with the mattress and putting up the umbrella. The entertainment staff are good, although they are a little absent at times, and need to engage a little more. The beach restaurant is OK and the food at lunch time is fine with some good choices. The main restaurant is OK and breakfast you can usually find something to have. you can also sit outside while eating and soak up the Sun. There are safes in the bedrooms and a fridge. Separate toilet and then the shower room. The cleaning staff keep the rooms clean and change the towels every day. The location of the hotel is good with the harbor just a 5 mins walk away, and a small park with fair rides and roller-coasters just opposite the harbor, which is not expensive. There are plenty of games for people to join in with during the day, from water polo, to beach volleyball, archery, with some table tennis tables available. The pool staff were great with a small tip, we never went without a drink throughout the day brought to you on your sunbed.
Bad Points: The bedrooms are tried and most of the furniture has seen better days. The beds are quite hard, handles missing off draws and wardrobes that don't close properly and no shelves to put items on. Most of the main restaurant staff are more interested in talking with each other than noticing you need something. The choice off food in the evening is very poor and it is difficult to find something, we ended up eating out 4 nights out of the 7, which defeats the all inclusive part. The wine is very dry and very cheap, and the quality of the drinks and cocktails is very poor, they use a juice machine for all cocktails, which is water based, so no real juice and very limited choice. There are very few drink choices for the children either. There are only 4 lifts in the hotel and half the time 2 of them did not work, meaning you could wait 10 mins for a lift, and when it came it was full. The children's entertainment in the evening did not start until 9pm and again was quite poor and the adult entertainment was the same.
Overall the hotel is OK if you accept all the above.

We booked this hotel based on the reviews, but they did not match our experience. Upon our late arrival, you have to drag your suitcases to the reception yourself, but for a supposedly 5-star hotel this should be done. Once in room no. 167 (with a sea view) you saw that it was already a bit outdated. The shower was broken and there was a dirty towel (5 stars?). After 2 nights we had to ask to change rooms because we were bothered by the noise from the entertainment and our son could not sleep. However, they did this without any problems and this was resolved (moved to room 536), but perhaps they should still anticipate people with young children (you know, 5 star service). Before you have breakfast, you should definitely put down your towels first (especially before 7:00 am), otherwise you will have no room left. For a 5 star hotel, the breakfast is very disappointing, no fresh orange juice, but sugary junk from a vending machine. Not fancy coffee, but coffee from a percolator (really sad). There are eggs and pancakes and such, but no fancy bread or baguette, but super tasty freshly baked Tunisian flatbread. unworthy of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast is actually in line with the rest of the food. The food is monotonous, little variety and actually not good enough for a so-called 5 star hotel. The service during meals is also quite poor, everything actually depends on the amount of tip you give. This service is actually in line with service at all bars or eateries in the hotel. They're not really friendly unless you tip a lot. There is often no Coke Zero, because it is supposedly difficult to obtain (available everywhere outside the hotel). Sometimes there was just no cold beer. The cocktails are made with drinks of questionable quality and they don't want to make a mojito in the evening because it is too much work. The wines are also questionable. Besides water and coffee, there is actually no light or zero drinks available, only sugary junk, a 5 star hotel should pay more attention to this. If you wanted to exchange money into dinars, this was sometimes not possible and when it was possible, it was a limited amount. Actually the service is in line with the attitude of many people in Tunisia, they just try to screw you as a tourist and think you are stupid. They also forget that many people have to work hard to travel, there is a wrong attitude towards tourists who actually ensure that their economy continues to run. The entertainment for the children is good and the cleaning ladies and ladies who serve the food are also very friendly. The swimming pool is also pleasant with sun loungers if you can get them. The hotel is a faded glory with very limited service and a limited offering for a 5 star hotel. Very very very disappointing

Visited this hotel for the first time it's your typical tunisa hotel be prepared for hotel tax to be paid on check-in we paid £45 for two in a room and our friend paid £25 for single room, quite a jump from the €14 paid in September. Room was far size with bathroom and toilet separate shower was over bath care to be taken when getting in/out . There's kettle and tea/coffee replenished (sometimes) bottles of water are given at any of the bars. We used the Alcarte and was well looked after. The waiter that looked after us at the evening meal was fab nice friendly welcome and always on hand if needed macrem (not sure spelling is correct) waiter service was not offered in other areas but did notice people having waiter service maybe you needed to tip to get this? Would I return not sure maybe if price was right but not my first choice.

No way in the world is this a 4 or 5 star hotel. All the public areas seem to be very dimly lit in order to disguise how unkempt they are. Carpets in corridors really dirty and worn. Paid for a superior sea view room, not sure what was superior about it at all. Tiling in bedroom/bathroom very poor standard, bathroom had more sealant than tiles. Bath looked like it had been cracked at some stage and has been subject to some kind of resurfacing but seems to have consistency of porridge, never really looked or felt clean. Rooms cleaned daily. Doors and cupboards/draws in room would not close properly. Pool loungers taken from about 7.30am onwards but could always get another one further away from the pool. Lots of loose tiles by the pool which water had got under causing them to lift so had to be careful when walking around, one of the hotel staff seemed to have the job of repairing/replacing these every day. Food was ok apart from a la carte which was the same food in the restaurant brought down by trolley to the a la carte area and was cold by the time it got to us. 3 couples all walked out at the same time and just went back to the normal restaurant. Not much in way of evening entertainment although the team seemed to try very hard. Staff in hotel were all very nice but I had read reviews to tip staff soI did this from day one and never had an empty glass/plate, having said that, the drink selection was not the best either and we struggled to get a glass bigger than a thimble. Best summary of the hotel I heard was from a couple we met who said "It looks ok...from a distance". Nothing like the adverts/photos.

This hotel is not good, would recommend choosing somewhere else. On more than one occasion have been served raw food. Drinks are watered down and appalling, have had to buy our own drinks whilst on an all inclusive holiday. Booked into the a la carte restaurant one night, had to walk out as food was cold and inedible. Family had diarrhoea right through.
Staff only nice when you tip, if you haven’t tipped them they are rude and take forever to serve you or don’t serve you at all. There are a handful of staff that are lovely, however the majority do not want to know you if they are not being tipped, or are asking for more money.
Room was not cleaned for two days, sockets and TV were not working and air con vents were leaking. Rooms are dated and dirty and the carpets in the hall ways are grubby with there being a strong stench of sewage.
Providing ice and cold drinks also seems to be a problem. Plates and glasses are not always cleaned properly, with me being handed dirty glasses with my bottle of water. We had been told by Rep not to drink the tap water, however the mugs and glasses in our room were washed in the bathroom sink.
TUI should definitely not sell this hotel as a 4/5 star hotel, wouldn’t even grade it a 3 star, 2 star at the most.

Just got back from our family holiday at the maharaba palace hotel, we've had a lovely week at this hotel, But we wouldn't say this is a 5 Star . The reception area is lovely all done out in marble and fresh soft seating upon 1st arrival, but when you get to the bedrooms they are very tired and need updating BUT always cleaned every day and fresh towels put out every day , the restaurant staff are friendly and helpful but food is repetitive ( same food nearly every night ) but cooked well never had badly cooked / uncooked food .The fresh meat slices , salads and cheese are NOT kept in a closed refrigerated unit so flies are crawling all over the cheese slices , sliced meats and salads . The night time bar staff in the main bar are not very friendly or polite but daytime bar staff are great. Outside pool toilets were disgusting especially the mens with urine on the floor in the afternoons which smelt terrible in the heat ,the animation team were absolutely fantastic and are brilliant with kids ,one girl yassmine was always smiling and full of life with the kids , the pools are great but not sure why the big pool is salt water and not fresh water like the small pool, also ball games should be only played in the big pool as the small pool is not big enough for ball games all in all we had a good experience and would go back, BUT this hotel could do with some big improvements, big clean in and around pool areas/ outside toilets and modernising in bedrooms to rate this as 5 star .

We arrived at around 11am and check in was available at 2pm but as we were ‘Tui’ guests we were granted checkin early at 1pm. When you arrive you have to fill in a form each which is quite confusing but requires basic information. The room was lovely. Plenty of space so you didn’t feel on top of each other (3 in our room) Beds changed daily and cleaned through. Bathroom clean and good powerful shower. Cupboard space good, afew more hangers would have been perfect. Balcony large with table and chairs with a good view out. Loved the airer so you could dry swimwear safely. The restaurant was amazing and our waiter ‘Makram’ was the best. So friendly and smiliey every night. He remembers your drink orders and pours more when you take a drink, be careful not to bosh the bottle of wine its easily done! The food was lovely and plenty to choose from. All types of meat, salad, pasta, pizzas and special dishes. All the food cooked very well and hot. Having your set table each night made it feel less stressful too. The hotel and surroundings were very clean and all toilets had loo roll all the time. Parasailing on the beach very good price £30 for 2 people (me and my girl loved it). The beach was fairly clean and the sea lovely and warm. The pools were lovely and warm. We favored the salt water pool as the swim up bar is located there. ‘Ali’ the bar man definitely best bar man. We didn’t feel pressured to tip but tipped most people as they did a great job. 10 dinars (£2.50) you get treated very well! The animation team were friendly and did a good job. Water polo each day was good to watch and the no contact rule such a good idea if you understood it. Overall we had the best holiday and would definitely return!!
