I stayed here with my son during a visit to the local university. The hotel staff was incredibly nice. They were very welcoming. In the evening they had coffee and cookies in the lobby. The room was nicely appointed, but the mattress was very, very soft. We stayed only for the night, but I would return. Though the options in...

By far, probably the nicest and ONLY 'non-budget' Hotel in the area. I attended Alfred State 20+ years ago and came back to the area for a family reunion in Hornell. Little did I realize there were no full-service hotels and few with any amenities whatsoever. We opted to try the Saxon Inn. There are no amenities at the Saxon...

Alfred is a strange place with a little rural town sandwiched in a valley between the modern campuses of Alfred University on one hillside and Alfred State on the other. Visitor lodging is in short supply. The Saxon Inn is the only real way to stay within the bucolic bubble of small town college campus ambiance. With luck, the soon-to-be-constructed...

We've stayed at the Saxon 2-3 times and have thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The rates have increased over the yrs. to where we can no longer afford to stay in the future. We're very sorry but this motel is too expensive for us.

Thank you again for making my stay wonderful as usual. My yearly trip to Alfred for my sorority alumni event is always made more pleasurable because of your staff. I always see the same staff members and they always remember my friends and I. We will see you again next year.

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are happy to have you and your sorority sisters stay with us here at the Inn. It is also a pleasure to see the lasting friendships. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

We always stay at The Saxon Inn when we have a horse show at Alfred. The proximity to the equestrian center is great. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and courteous. Thank you so much.

I was there when my daughter visited Alfred University. I definitely will stay there again if she ends up attending the school. The staff was pleasant and professional and the room was nice. Nothing amazing here, just a clean, good place to stay.

We stayed here for one night, it was definitely a clean room and a clean place in general. But the whole facility pungently smelled like an elderly lady or an old perfume, a smell that would remind you of your grandmother's house... Although the breakfast was nice I must say.

i'm happy to hear you were pleased with the cleanliness of your room and the other areas of the hotel. I've never had anyone make mention of an odor smelling of old parfume. I' m wondering if a guest was wearing parfume that lingered into the hallways and public area. The air freshner we use is a tropical mist and...

We stayed at the Saxon Inn while in town for wedding. The staff was so friendly, and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a nice breakfast area with bagels, muffins, juice and coffee. We had a very pleasant stay. Beautiful location! I think the only complaint I had was the paper thin walls. I had to listen to...

I stayed at the Saxon Inn as part of the wedding group as well as the previous rater. Staff was extremely friendly. I was consistently greeted with a smile, and every request I made was granted to the best of their abilities. My comfort level was extremely high. This hotel was absolutely fantastic for our 2-night stay.
