The Aqi Skanes Family Resort is celebrated by guests for its clean, spacious rooms and impressive array of family-friendly amenities, including lifeguard-supervised pools and a host of activities. While the rooms are critiqued for being somewhat dated and lacking in electrical outlets, the resort's value is widely acknowledged, offering affordable transportation and satisfying dining experiences.
Service at the resort is highlighted for its warmth and efficiency, and the cleanliness throughout the property is consistently commended. Though the reception area could use a touch of atmosphere, the vibrant themes and entertainment keep the spirit lively.

This was our first family holiday abroad and also our first time to Tunisia. We visited end of May / beginning of June for 7 nights and loved every minute.
We had 1 night with no A/C but then it was turned on.
I do have to say a massive thank you to Julya, Mimi and Fifi who ran one of the kids clubs. From the moment we arrived they made our son feel welcome and would always tempt him in to going off and having fun giving me and his mum some us time to relax and join in the games round the pool. I did notice they did more outside activities with the kids than the TUI run club and would take the kids to the beach for sandcastle building or to play darts (magnetic) or arts and crafts.
Snoopy, Chixs, Choko, Kiko and Garix the rest of the animation team were also great with all of us and we’re there throughout the day with lots of activities including water polo, Yoga, football, water aerobics, Zumba and much more they were great and if anything would be one of the reasons we returned.
There is also a mini disco in the evening’s and an evening act / Performance after.
We seemed to visit at a busy time as there was an ATP Tennis tournament on with lots of players staying. We also had the Tunisian national basketball, Fencing and handball teams all staying on the resort. The only issue this caused not for us but for others was the gym was reserved at certain times during the day for these teams and players to use which i thought was fine and reasonable as it still could be used but not during certain times.
The pools were clean although they could do with some work as there are a few tiles coming off and I did make it a game to put them on the side of the pool if I found them. The slides are only open during certain times in the morning and afternoon which again isn’t an issue as they do need to be staffed by the lifeguards.
The resort is kept clean by a big team of staff who are always busy and always polite and helpful. The bar staff and restaurant staff are great and helpful and always there if needed.
There is a nightclub on sight and a shisha bar which are not included in the package and are paid bars but do offer a little better beers than what’s on offer for all inclusive.
There is a beach which is clean and tidy and manned by security so you always feel safe. We went down sometimes around midnight to have a walk and a paddle in the shallow water and security were there then too.
The food was good and there was lots on offer with different themed nights. There was always the staple pizza, pasta, rice & Chips if you did ever struggle to find something.

The resort is great with good facilities, multiples pools, slides, bars, sports facilities, kids clubs etc. The beach and sea are stunning and crystal clear. The staff are all very friendly and the animation team are superb, with great activities / games for all ages and the Tui kids club is fantastic. There are a few major downsides which nearly makes this a 3 star review (if it wasn’t for all of the above great points). The main point is that the food has been poor. A fairly decent selection which does vary most days, but all tends to be rather bland and flavourless, and there is mostly a lack of authentic local / African cuisine. Another major point is the drinks are also terrible. Wine that needs to be drunk with lemonade to be stomached, no rum and no proper cocktails. Not being able to enjoy a Piña colada or a mojito or rum and coke really hampers the holiday vibes.
Other minor points are that the kids disco and evening entertainment are on too late. We made friends with a group of families and between us we only made the entertainment a handful of times as half the children would be passed out by the time it kicked off at 9ish.
Air conditioning would also be welcomed! Our new friends and us all said the air conditioning was non existent in the rooms and we experienced a lack of sleep on hot nights because of this. Perhaps it gets an upgrade in high season?
Also there are no ice creams available in the day which would be a nice touch on the scorching days.
We are writing this review sat down to our first delightful dinner on our last day. There has been more variety and better quality (and decorations) although this has left a slighter bitter taste as in comparison to the rest of our stay. We wonder therefore if they do a special day on Sundays or if this is the start of better food and we have received a sub-standard service being out of high season (mid-may) and perhaps the food is always this nice?? We would take note next time to book later in the month of May / June as clearly the guests get a very different treatment even though we feel at that star rating it should be consistent.
Overall we have enjoyed our stay and the kids had fun, but food and drink is important for holidays so we wont be returning as it lacks majorly in these areas.

We have just returned from a family holiday here we visited with another family. From the second we arrived at the hotel to the minute we left the service was simply amazing. The most friendliest staff ever. The reception staff, so friendly and very helpful, check in simple and quick. Our room 2326 had an amazing view of the sea, stunning, Our cleaner was the best we had, making lovely towel shapes each day and spotless cleaning( I wish i had taken her name to give a mention), cleaners were onsite 24/7 constantly cleaning up after people. Our barman Fethir, was brilliant, fetching us non stop drinks. Restaurant staff and food excellent, not too much choice but excellent quality. The snack bar on the beach was where we ate every lunch time as this catered more for the kids, the waiter there was fantastic too. The only downside to the food was there was not much choice for kids at night, rarely any chips so with a fussy 13 year old she did struggle. Pool areas were spotless, lifeguards and pool bar staff fab. All the staff could not do enough for yu, really so helpful and friendly. Then there's the entertainment, the entertainment staff (I may get these names wrong but i will give a go), Sam, Choco(maybe Chico), Chocolate, and the rest of the team were AMAZING, kept us entertained from morning to evening. They work non stop. They had us take part in so many activities and really made us feel special, we all had an amazing time with them. Really felt like we were leaving friends when it came time to leave. we will definitely return. Thank you to you all

Just arrived back from a week at the skanes family resort. I have visited here before 7 years ago and it hasn’t changed and some places now looking a little worn but didn’t really affect stay the location is lovely right on the beach which is so clean and pools great can either chill out knowing the kids are safe in relax pool as it’s shallow or go to slides and have fun.
Room was lovely with plenty of space and storage cleaned every day the cleaners do a great job..always there when needed. After it rained there was around 5 making sure all the water logged areas we’re cleaned up and watched them racking the sand.
Waiters are so friendly and attentive.. coming with drinks when can see yours is empty.
Didn’t really use the entertainment so can’t comment on them but always really friendly and the other kids seemed to love them.
Food was lovely… even though only 2 places to eat the magico restaurant always had a lot of variety for both lunch and dinner. The snack bar was good with great size portions.
The worst part was that the air con wasn’t on and in 34 degree heat you can imagine the fun… the management dealt with issue horrendously particularly guest services and the tui rep… fobbing people off saying it would be on the next day and then before they went home with no intention of turning it on. It wasn’t just a few people it was 80% of the guests who had something to say about it. I understand it says on the website it’s June-September it’s on but many staff members commented it wasn’t always this hot at this time of year and it was at times unbearable. After a few nights they switched it on in the entertainment venue so they was able to but was obviously not willing to make sure 80% of the payout guests were comfortable. If it wasn’t for this issue it would of definitely been a higher rating

This hotel is a little dated but the food the staff the atmosphere and the general fun is well worth the visit . first holiday we’ve ever been on when the kids are desperate to go back and have only just landed back in the UK definitely would return . I would recommend this to anyone with family and children . staff make the place spotlessly clean . cleaners working hard all day gardeners to and the entertainment staff keep you occupied from dust till dawn food is the best we’ve had for an all-inclusive like I say would love to go back thank you to all the staff especially the entertainment AMAZING HOLIDAY loads to do activities on the beach great value for money

My family and I have just come back from a week at Skanes and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has everything you could want for all ages. My 3 year old had the best time! The kids pool was perfect for him and he even went on the big slides a few times too which he loved. The site is safe with lifeguards throughout the day and there are plenty of sunbeds free throughout the day which makes life easier when wanting to find a bed close to the pools to watch the children. The entertainment staff were amazing! They put on classes throughout the day including Halim's yoga class in the morning, French boules, darts, water polo, volleyball, zumba, step aerobics and more. They are very friendly and accommodating and continue the fun right into the evening where they get you up and dancing, laughing and creating a memorable experience. Mike is full if energy and is brilliant with everyone, he approached us the first day with a friendly smile and made sure we were comfortable and reassured if we needed anything, to talk to him. The team speak different languages and good English. The food was good although we needed to wait and queue a lot for fresh cooked food but the restaurant staff were brilliant and made sure drinks were topped up and plates were cleared away promptly. The restaurant have themed nights where they really go to town on dressing the restaurant up to match the themes. The rooms were standard and could do with modernising and deep cleaning but they were tidied every day. The private beach was beautiful, absolutely stunning with clean, white sands and d shallow, clear water for a while although one family we spoke to said they saw jellyfish when they went into the sea but we didn't see any. They have water activities on the beach such as jet skis, paragliding, banana boat rides etc. We went on a jet ski and loved it.
Overall, we had a brilliant holiday and would come again. Next time, I would bring more money to tip the staff as we didn't take a lot due to it being all inclusive but regretted it as we had none at the end to tip the amazing staff members.

Went to Skanes for a family holiday with children and friend. As a party of females this was well interesting to say the least.
The flight and transfer went without hitch only very short delays and transfers were smooth although coach journey in was long on a vey hot on arrival.
The welcome at the hotel was lovely and porters promptly took the baggage to our very clean spacious room, with sea view as requested although the balcony was extremely small.
Most of the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful!
Although some members of the Entertainment staff had to be reminded of the age of our teenage girls.
There was numerous asks for phone numbers / trips to the beach at night (after their working hours)made to me and my adult friend.
When these invitations were declined this then lead to them not interacting with the children the following day. Leading questions as to why team members had “fallen out with them”. This lead to a rather uncomfortable atmosphere.
There were times when our children were completely ignored by male staff members following beach invites being declined!
I would reiterate that this was not all of the entertainment staff just a select few.
Had we traveled with partners I believe we would of had a very different experience.
The Hotel was clean , the pools were clean although the slides where dated and the beach although small was clean and well staffed.
The rest of the staff teams were very polite , helpful and could not do enough for you. Our room was also cleaned to a good standard every day.
Unfortunate the food was not great along with the drinks being of poor standard.
Although we did not leave our hotel the stories of people that did were that it was not a nice experience either.
On the whole my first experience of this country was not a great one which was disappointing following it being very highly recommended.

This holiday was amazing and we will DEFINITELY be returning next year for 2 weeks.
The hotel was really nice. The staff were super friendly with everyone remembering you down to name and what you drink. Drinks would regularly be brought to our table. When ordering water from the bar you would be given a whole 1.5l bottle which is amazing and the coke & Fanta is official branded. Spirits and cocktails were very limited (no rum or malibu). The food was the best I have had at an all inclusive. Each night was a different meal theme and all the food is always beautiful. The main buffet restaurant gets a little too busy for lunch however the snack bar is an even nicer restaurant style situated above the beach with amazing food and table service. We were shocked it was a free service. This hotel is situated on the beach so has its own segregated beach area to keep it quiet. There is security present to keep none hotel guest off this area as either side is very busy. The view from the hotel of the beach and sea is stunning.
A few improvements for this hotel (please still understand this was a brilliant hotel / holiday so would highly recommend;
The cups were very small and the barstaff would regularly fill it untill the bubbles hit the top so by the time these settled only half the small cup was full.
None of the toilets had air con so was a very sweaty experience.
The evening entertainment was on too late (kids disco started at 20:45) meaning we never attended any and I usually really enjoy the night entertainment.
The kids pool water system was not turned on untill 10:00 which is very late for the kids.
There was a tennis tournament for the week whilst we were there and the tennis guests were super rude and certain areas were reserved for tennis players (this area in the restaurant was the most air conned area). This should have been stated when booking.
Next time we are going to pay for a swim-up pool room as this is definitely beneficial (especially for a family with young kids)

We have just got back from a week here and it definitely didn’t disappoint, after reading some of the reviews I got a little bit worried but I definitely did not need to be. To start our transfer there by coach was 90 minutes with 4 drop offs before us a bit longer than I like but wasn’t a big deal. We arrived at lunch time and our room was ready for us we filled out the paperwork and payed the tourist tax and the deposit for our towels then we were shown to our room by one of the members of staff who brought our cases. We opted for a family room with balcony there was plenty of space it was clean don’t get me wrong it was nothing flash but absolutely nothing wrong with the room at all, we were on the ground floor just off from where the main dining hall is which was a little bit of an issue for the noise late on as I had a 3 year old with me it did often wake her so if you like quiet try to get a room further away from the main areas. The food was absolutely fine we just ate in the main buffet restaurant, the sandwich bar and the beachfront restaurant and I couldn’t fault any of them plenty of choice for everyone. The pools were brilliant and so clean you can choose between loud, energetic and buzzing with the water slide pools or chilled and quiet at the other pool we did days of both including the beach which was so lovely and clean. The staff were absolutely faultless so friendly and polite they are an absolute credit to your establishment they work tirelessly to keep the place so clean and to make sure you have what you want and need absolutely 10 stars for all of them. The animation team were fab we didn’t really have too much dealings apart from mini disco time which my little girl loved but I watched them and they seemed fab friendly and so so energetic I was exhausted just watching them. The lifeguards I mean what can I say nobody was going to come unstuck with them about they were so switched on and observant, as much as I never left my little girl alone I was so confident that nothing would occur they do a super job well done to them, they were also super friendly and great with the kids. Honestly I don’t really have anything bad to say about this hotel except get private transfers if you can our return transfer was 2 hours and we had 6 pickups. I would have no reservations about returning here thank you to all the staff too service from all.
