This hotel is not so pricey and good for a family holiday but of course it has its ups downs.
Starting with ups, reception was very nice. We didn’t wait much in the check in and our rooms were almost already ready before 12pm. The pool was very clean and somehow warm and some of the stuff were fun and friendly. The shower water was warm so that’s an up too! The beach was so clean and warm! IT’S SO GOOOD~
The downs are much more lol. The rooms were awful, we found a lot of insects ( we didn’t take pictures but there sure was and trust me it can be terrifying and disgusting!!!). The toilets didn’t have toilet hose (flexible/touyo) and my parents’ room toilet had an issue where it doesn’t work well so it always smells bad. We told the reception and it took them more than a day to send a plumber, so they had to stick with us until it got fixed. The food was ok but not varied enough, some was just tasteless. Soft drinks machine in the canteen wouldn’t work most of the time and sometimes there was no cups for water or drinks. Most of the stuff only care of the tourists. I understand that they want better tips but don’t treat those who are not from France or Germany badly, at some point one of them wouldn’t allow us to sit next to the window claiming it’s for a tourist? GIVE ME A BREAK LOL! Another issue that no one m would tell until you already pay, it’s true that there was no direct access to the beach, but the hotel has its own private beach ( even tho it’s shared with another hotel). Why would it open at 8am and close at 6pm?! I mean come on, with this temperature and humidity it’s so hot during the day so you can only swim by sunrise or sunset, right? It just makes no sense to me !
Other downs, there was no fridge in the room, not enough towels, you can only get water in cups and buy bottles (expensive)
Overall, i wouldn’t recommend!

All staff were lovely apart from the bar manager who was extremely rude and seemed very annoyed everytime you went to order drinks and made you feel uncomfortable but luckily he wasn't always serving. And one more thing if you do go here buy your own big beer glass or mug as their glasses are far too small so your constantly going up for drinks. But don't let that put you of as we had one of the best holidays we have ever had! Would definitely return
The hotel is not dirty, and is cleaned every day, but it looks dirty because it is such a run down, tatty, worn out, even decrepit in parts, building. Whoever carried out the original painting and tiling should be horse whipped, but they have probably died of shame long ago.
I am advised the place will close at the end of October for refurbishment, long overdue, it needs gutting, and given a total overhaul, including new furniture, fixtures and fittings.
The food is generally pretty good, except breakfast where choice is limited, but no real cause for alarm. The bar staff can go from being very good to being very bad, to the point of insulting within 5 minutes, dependent on their mood at the time.
The beer is served in egg cup sized glasses, often not even filled up, and loses its head within a millisecond of pouring, and has the kick of fortified water, I did discover that indeed this is the case because it is diluted, not just at Cedriana, but all over Djerba. You have to pay 3.50dt, about £1.45 for the bottled stuff but it is worth doing so towards the end of the evening just so you actually know you have consumed alcohol. A quick word about the local whisky which looks like, and has the texture of watery treacle, tastes like cough medicine, and seems to have a kick like a geriatric earwig, do not be fooled, as it can, taken to excess do horrible things to your head and digestive system! So far not too good.
BUT, the place as The X Factor, an ambience, a fantastic atmosphere, a camaraderie among the guests.
We where the only British passport holders there, and for me this is always a bonus, the other guests were primarily French with some Germans, Russians, Libyans, Tunisians and Italians thrown in. It would appear the occupancy was only about 50% whilst we were there so everyone got to know everyone quickly and one made a lot of friends, excellent!
Then the animation team, as previously reviewed are superlative, friendly (and genuinely so) funny (sidesplittingly so) professional and just damn good company. They make this place very special.
So as a hotel it is two dots tops, as a holiday experience it is 5+ dots. When re-opened in May it will be one of Djerba's best hotels, if the management can sort out the surly barmen and instigate the serving of undiluted draught beer in half litre glasses, improve breakfast to include some sausage and or bacon, keep the food a tad hotter, and maintain the quality of clientele.
Overall a god trip!
