The hotel is good but without the animation team it would just be a normal hotel. The staff is friendly and always trying to make the holiday as nice as possible. Cleaning our room this year was not as good as last year. Even though we have often told the reception that we are 3 people we have only ever got 2 shower towels. Also the beds were not as well made as last year. The toilets which are to be used for everyone need to be cleaned more often, toilet paper and towels definitely need to be refilled more often. That should be mandatory in such a big hotel. Also the respect of the management towards the employees should be more than they are the soul of the house. What we found totally silly this year was that the animation team now had to wish the guests good appetite for dinner. This time should be used more for the recovery of the team, as they must also arrange the evening program by 11 p.m. Since they deliver a full program all day long, you need recovery periods in between. The pool bar should also cover the central area so that you can use it. Cocktails in appropriate decorative glasses should be prepared on certain evenings gladly also with an extra charge and not as all day at the pool anyway. Also awnings on the outdoor terrace would be desirable as it gets very hot there too. As I said, the hotel thrives on the magnificent animation team. This makes the holiday unforgettable. Shortly to the wellness area. The ladies and sellers are great and do a top job but the boss of the whole thing urgently needs to be replaced. He tries to rip off, is unkind to women and his staff.

The hotel grounds are gorgeous. The rooms are clean and spacious. Lots of fun memories made at the Aquapark and around the main pool. Entertainment team 5*. The food was delicious.
Only downsides is that the WiFi did not work in the bedrooms so had to approach lobby to use the free Wifi at any time. Also recommend that the hotel disposes of the table cloths as found these very unhygienic at meal times when service was slow and on a couple of occasions, the table cloths were turned over rather than replaced. I recommend disposing of table cloths where the tables can be disinfected with spray and wiped down after every use.
Otherwise a lovely stay at Mahdia, happy to return.

I spend six weeks at this resort and have great time. It is not during tourist season but it just means you have such an expansive hotel almost to yourself. Beautiful room and excellent views particularly the sea view rooms. Great experience from the check in, cleaners very friendly, Alex and the animation team always on call to chat and make your experience very nice, really appreciate their rapport and enthusiasm for activities, particularly as I was alone so a good opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests. Great service from the 24 hour bartenders, big pools both indoor and outdoor. Enjoyed the wide variety of food available and you can get snacks at any time. Nice little shop on site. Private beach which is beautiful. A short walk from town and the medina which is a great and vibrant city with plenty of food and cafe options if you want to have a change from the hotel also.
The grounds and Gardens are stunning. I will like to go back soon. 5/5.

Overall I do not recommend this hotel. On the plus side, it's a good location, a nice beach, original drinks (Coca-Cola, Fanta), my friends and I also found some relatively cool animators.
The water park seems nice, but it is also available to people from outside the hotel, which equates to a large number of Arab children whose culture leaves much to be desired. As for the service in the hotel, it is dramatic apart from one bartender and a waiter (I'm talking about all the employees: waiters, bartenders, cleaners, receptionists), all of them are one big joke. At the pool bar you have to wait up to 20 minutes for someone to come to you. In the restaurant, there was always a war for forks, so much so that I had to take them from other tables (if they were still there), because even reporting the lack of cutlery to the waiter did not help. The entire staff waits for a tip first and only then will they start working properly. I understand that there is a "tradition" of tipping, but in my opinion, a tip can be given for work done, not for anyone to start working, which is their duty.
The topic of rooms is also interesting because the offer often states that the hotel has been renovated. The truth is that the wing with 3-person rooms has been renovated and the rooms are fine. The wing where the double rooms are located is reminiscent of the communist times, and dirty. We had rooms for 2 and 3 people. We had to argue all day and pay 40 euros extra for people from a double room to get a room like the one shown in the photos in the hotel's offer. He also has no idea why one of the rooms was cleaned only twice during an 8-day stay, while other guests had it every day. Among the minuses, it is also worth adding: a huge number of mosquitoes and flies, monotonous food that is not good except for a few items, smoking literally everywhere, be it at the reception or in the restaurant (mainly by Arabs), as well as the behavior and culture (or rather the lack of it) Arabs towards visitors, one may feel discriminated against. Arab children pushing into the queue is standard. I recommend not to worry and either shout out or push those people who are pushing into the queue. After this holiday, I developed an aversion to Arabs and no desire to return to Tunisia, because I would definitely not return to this hotel.

If you can afford a few pennies more, please choose a better hotel. First of all this location in not for tourist- go to Sousse or Hammamet instead. The hotel reception, pool, dining area is very dated and the outside areas need tlc and landscaping. This is a old hotel so there is construction going on everywhere and lots of areas we're open. My room however was nice and modern but the linen and towels could be better. The pool beds were hard and old and the cushion covering was missing. Breakfast was very poor, the only good thing was the omlet station and fresh orange juice station but you had to queue up for these and you better get in early before they start running out of food. Lunch is the best Mealtimes with lots of options to choose from. Dinner is mediocre with the same food every night and queue for the pizza station where they make bespoke pizza is always long. There isn't enough staff and they don't really understand how to serve customers. They are not rude but if you don't ask for something, the waiters don't offer any assistance. They claim there is a snack bar but that little counter opposite the gift shop only serve cakes and pancakes and guests are always waiting for the donuts which I find very good. There is always a queue at the reception bar and overall few staff to serve . Entertainment is only for kids, only 1 night they did karaoke in the reception that was good. I think most people only select this hotel for the aqua park and the kids loved it. However to go to the watermark you need to go to the hotel from gate and cross over so its actually beside the hotel itself. It is a bit of a walk and there were no food or drink stations opened at the aqua park, hence you better plan ahead and bring your food and drink from the hotel. The rooms were not cleaned properly, I tried to hang clothes out on the rack on the balcony and it was covered in rust. This is my second time to Tunisia and I had an amazing trip first time at the Orangers hotel and Bungalow.
Save yourself disappointment and choose a different hotel please

i enjoyed every minute of been at this resort! i’m such a home body and hate not being at home but this resort made me feel so as ease and comfortable, it truly felt like a second home. all the staff were lovely and i did not have any negative interactions at all. the animation team and their routine is impeccable. there’s only a 3 hour gap in the day where there is not entertainment happening, however that’s a good time to get out the resort and do excursions. there’s many people who are on the resort which can help you book excursions such as quads, horse riding and boat trips. i did the horse riding on the beach and it was amazing. the rooms get cleaned everyday and you are given new towels and toilet paper daily. there was only one day where i had to tell reception that my room hasn’t been cleaned, but they were on it and it was cleaned within the next hour of asking. i am a very picky eater so i will be honest, the food wasn’t that great but that’s just me! i did find my specific foods which i stuck to but in all fairness, i don’t eat that much on holiday so that wasn’t a huge problem. the bar staff are on it! we had one particular man who would bring up drinks whenever we asked and was pretty quick too! the animation team and so great and they’re so easy to build relationships and bonds with, making them truly feel like your friends. i had such a good time that i actually cried when i had to leave! i will definitely be back and would recommend this resort to everyone!

PLEASE READ as I am going to be as honest as I can.
We have just got back on 18th August from a week stay here with 2 kids (8 year old and 9 year old) and after looking at the reviews before we got here we wasn’t sure we made the right choice.
Hotel felt safe as had security guards 24/7 at the gates.
Rooms were spacious and cleaned every 2 days and our cleaner was lovely who always went out her way to help.
Entertainment was great specially the animation team around the pool they were amazing and the management should give them a pay rise because they work so hard and go an beyond to get you all involved and entertain everyone they are so funny and a credit to the hotel.
The Water park was amazing.
Downfall for me is the food.
Don’t get me wrong they had a great selection of food but with being from the UK the hotel never really catered for us at any meal time.
If management do read this please make sure the chefs that cook the chicken on the BBQ make sure it’s cooked properly had it a few times and it was still raw.
Kids only had chips and Croissants throughout the holiday.
So the overall experience of the holiday was good and rate it 4 out of 5

We were at Mahdia Beach from October 15th to 22nd and I would like to say one thing first: I absolutely cannot understand the bad reviews here. We had booked 2 rooms and when we arrived we were asked if we wanted to wait a little longer so that we could be given 2 rooms that were relatively close together. Great! The rooms are big enough and have everything you need. We liked that the bathroom and toilet are separate. It was cleaned well every day and there were fresh towels every day. Please note that there is no elevator in the adjacent buildings, but 2 floors are not a problem. Rooms with a sea view are great and recommendable. In the restaurant we never had any problems finding a free table that was already set. The food was simply great! There was so much you couldn't eat and the selection was huge. Fresh salads, soups, meat, fish, side dishes, dessert, cake...you can't even list everything. There was even quail and shrimp. There was also a barbecue outside at lunch and dinner. In the afternoon there were snacks there and at the pool bar, sweet or savory. You could get drinks anytime and anywhere. Of course you had to wait a few minutes at the lobby bar, but hey, you're on vacation! Everyone, and I mean every employee, was always friendly and fulfilled our every wish. All the waiters were constantly on the move; we didn't see them standing around and ignoring us, as some people write here. The pool area is constantly kept clean and is big enough. There are always free loungers to be found. The beach and the sea are great, fine sand and clean. There are always loungers to be found here too. We went on trips to Mahdia (taxi around 10 dinars) and El Jem (second largest Colosseum after Rome), both of which are recommended. The entertainers do a great job without being pushy. There is something for all age groups here and there was a different show every evening, accompanied by the presenter in different languages. There were guests of all nationalities and it was a friendly and peaceful atmosphere. All employees speak several languages, so communication is always possible without any problems. Finally, we would like to thank all employees (whether in front of or behind the scenes). They work well and tirelessly to ensure that we have a great stay...we should appreciate that and let them know that a friendly word opens many doors. Many greetings to everyone from the older Arabic-speaking German lady!

We stayed for 7 days at Mahdia Beach and we enjoyed our stay. We arrived early on the Tuesday morning (1am) check in was easy and we were helped to our rooms.
The rooms at the hotel are quite run down and do need to be refurbed. The air-con barely worked in our rooms, we were given one pillow each, there were unstable floor tiles and the rooms were generally just not great.
The food wasn’t ideal and hardly any of it was labelled so you didn’t know what was what! Not very good for an all inclusive resort. The snack bar was ok during the day time but again did serve the same food all week.
You have to get up exceptionally early to get the sun loungers around the pool. We took it in turns to get up early as a family of 5 so we could enjoy a lay in at least a few times! This wasn’t ideal but I feel like it’s the same at every resort you visit.
The water park is located outside of the hotel but still on hotel grounds. You can enter for free but you must buy your own refreshments and food there as this is not included in the all inclusive.
Our love holidays rep was amazing, so supportive and was happy to help in any way that he could. He definitely helped to make our holiday memorable and couldn’t praise him enough. We booked two excursions through him, I would definitely suggest booking through your rep rather than booking with those who sell excursions at the hotel. For example, quad biking etc.
If you visit the hotels beach you will have people trying to sell you stuff, be firm and tell them no and they will leave you alone.
All staff at Mahdia Beach were excellent, very polite and welcoming. The animation team were exceptional, very entertaining, very kind and very talented. The lifeguards were brilliant and again very welcoming. The servers/bar staff were always happy to help and get you everything you needed.
Overall, the holiday was brilliant thanks to the animation team, lifeguards and servers/bar staff. We wouldn’t have enjoyed the holiday as much if it wasn’t for these guys. Thank you Mahdia Beach!

I was with my family at mahdia beach from 31 July to 14 August 2023. I have two children aged 13 and 18 and we were very happy with the water park, the swimming pool, the dining room is clean, there is care in cleaning of the buffet area which is varied, there is always fish meat even grilled outside, during the day at the pool area they continue to make crepes and pancakes! Regarding the beach, I have two pieces of advice that I hope you will listen to: I have been to several facilities in Tunisia and this is the one that has the absolute worst sunbeds, cracked and broken and there are no mattresses that I have always found elsewhere. The beach is cleaned summarily... bottles and glasses are left lying around because there are very few bins, not all umbrellas have them and unfortunately holidaymakers are not always polite. Usually the tractor passes by to clean the beach, here a man passes by with a rake who practically cleans a 40 cm line. It's a shame because the property is beautiful and well maintained apart from the beach. Please change the sunbeds because I would really like to return next year!
