- Relax33941 contributionEngland Versus the rest of the World!!Family of 4 (children aged 5 and 7) stayed in Caribbean World, Mahdia for 2 weeks from 11th to 25th June. Hotel staff very friendly and hotel clean. Food ok but other cater more for other nationalities. Entertainment for children very good. However, lack of English company at the hotel. Only 2 other English ladies staying in the hotel for 1 week, then there were just the 4 of us. Mainly Italians, Germans and French. We found the hotel very noisy on evenings and did not get a lot of sleep due to continuous door slamming. Just a shame that other nationalities don't have the respect for other people as we do.Date of stay: June 2006Written June 26, 2006
- PhillLiverpool50 contributionsHad a great holiday and would go back tomorrowWe have just returned from this hotel and had a great time. There was a party of 8, adults, teens and children and we all really enjoyed it. The rooms were spacious,(we had 2 family rooms) and kept clean by the maid with the towels changed daily. We used the hotel towels for by the pool for which we did have to leave a deposit but that was returned(we left GBP so as not to be left with any dinar) The restaurant was nice, there was always something for everyone and we had no problems. All of the staff in the hotel were very pleasant and polite and like the English although there wasn't many of us!! We felt a little let down as the slides didnt open until our last day and we missed them although I think that once June 15th is here everything will be up and running. Also there wasn't snacks and that available yet but to be honest we didn't need any. Pool bar man was brilliant he only had to see one of us coming and had the drinks ready. Beach is fantastic. The gym isnt that good but we never used it and weren't planning on using it!! Had a great laugh with the animaton team especially Ben, Issa(Jesus) Sam and Hattim .I cant personally comment on the kids club although those that went seemed to enjoy it. Six of the group did the quads which are not too far from the hotel and not too expensive but great fun and we also booked the boat trip with the rep, we asked to also be taken to see other areas Sousse and Port El Kantoui so had a day of it, beware the man on the ship dress you in head scarfs and then want paying although we just said no thankyou and it wasn't a problem. The spa is great and not too expensive, a couple of us had the peel and massage and the spa itself is very impressive. it’s really good in here. maybe next year i’ll come back. and personal is really kind here. the beach is great, good food and for breakfast they have so good pancakes. it’s really cheap there so that’s good.

Everything is very nice, food is fine , a lot of possibilities, the beach is beautiful. Rooms are okay, clean and big enough, comfortable. Perfect for vacation time. Nice animations for kids. 2 clean pools

Tunisia 🇹🇳 is not for every person but if you understand this country- you will enjoy it! The hotel is pretty good, food is mostly spicy but you can find not salted/without spices if you need it! If something is wrong with your room - ask for help and people will do everything they can to improve it!) The pool and the beach is clean, perfect sea 🌊 only one day it was raining) The most important thing is people here who are very positive, friendly, and if you also communication oriented will be met by the smile 😊 Best Animation Team ever met!) Close to El Jem - where you can visit Colliseum (better go by taxi than take excursion- you’ll have more time and no people whom to follow!) Recommend to visit also Sidi Abu Said! Very beautiful city 🏙️

I hope this will help you not to make mistake like I did or at least to be aware what to expect in this hotel and Tunisia in general. - Airport Monastir When you land you will felt the smell of Tunisia, garbage. This is everywhere same, in the city, around the hotels,.. Buy SIM card here from Orange stand, because 99% of the hotels doesn't have free WiFi, and are selling SIM cards for higher prices. - Hotel Outdated, need lot of renovation. Main building is better then rest of the buildings where there is moisture in the rooms, bugs, and distinct smell of garbage. It is far from 4 stars, most likely 1 star - Reception Most of the people that work there are not coustomer oriented (one or two excepions). We wait for room until 14 to be clened. When we get the room, it was not touch, like left from previous guests. Bearly manage to explain this to reception in order to send cleaning lady in the room. They are giving the beach towels only from 10 till 11 and it happens that even in this time they don't have towels for all guests. Don't even try to find towels, that's it, come tomorrow in 10. You cannot go to beach earlier or after lunch. Simple requests like change the sheets or towels in the room needs to be requested multiple times. - Kitchen Very dirty, no plates in order to take food, long lines for any food. Persons that serve food are there to limit how much food you will take, not to serve you. They decide how much you will eat. If you want more go to the long line and wait again. You can drink only water, everything else is almost always not available (like bear) or is not drinkable (some artificial mixture). Totally unacceptable. - Food Food here is not for Europeans. Everything is to spicy or with very hot chili. It happens that there is nothing that you or specially kids can eat all food was made with very hot chili. No chees, all meat was with very strange taste, you basically don't know what you are tasting. Everything that was serve was low class of food, very cheep, overburn or not cook enough. Every day was the same food, and notice that they collect leftovers touch by someone (like bread) and serve them next day. No food choices and after couple of days you don"t know what to eat, even don' want to go in kichen. Total disaster. There is nothing for kids, like ice cream, natural juice. Basically no frutits at all, only melons. - Pools Main pool is full with people that mostly don't care about pool to be clean, and you will see plastic cups, shells, sand, hears, drinks and other nasty stuff. Chlorin level is at the top max allowed and some kids gets rush and red skin after swimming in this pool. Smaller relax pool is better, no so many people, but chlorine is again on max. Slides pool is madness, very dirty and always full with people which leand on each other. You can hurt you self here very easy. - Spa and gym Actually non existing. Nothing was working, inside pool was without water and close. - Pool bar Everything was served in small plastic cups. Almost always there was no alcohol of any kind, and when there was something was lowest possible class of bear or vine which was not drinkable. There is option to buy normal drink, not included in all inclusive package. Soft drinks was nasty, so you can drink water or maybe some caffe from machine. Persons that work there are very unpleased and everyting in the bar is dirty with insects. - Loby bar This is the only place where you can get some normal drink in glass, not plastic and only place where peronal is nice, with smile and polite to the guests - Beach bar Disaster, nothing that you can get from here, maybe cup of water. Very dirty. - Snack place Always same food, personal that is serving food is there to tell you how much you will eat, very bad behavior with the guests. Long lines waiting for some food. Very dirty in general, from tables, to plates, to the way how food is keept and prepare, frozen direcly on hot pan, over burn, same oil that was used in whole last week or more, totally black. Plastic cups, plates, forks, knives... - Room Lot of regular things was not working or not present. You cannot close the toilet door, or door to the tarase, no hangers for towels on tarase, no any chanals on TV, no remote (for remote you shoul leave deposite). Using safe also requires deposite and additional fee for each day. Using beach towels is again with depisit. Look like they are afraid if the guests that will stole something and put deposits on all normal thinks. We are paying thousands of euros for this vacation, and for this price thay should give as 3 euros remote as a gift, not to ask for deposits. Clining of the room is very basic, and for changind of room towels and bed sheets you need to ask specially multiple times on recepion. - WiFi Non existing. Some free at recepion with very limited/no bandwidth. Buy local SIM card ifyou need internet - Beach Beach is very beautiful, sand is great, water clear., lot of shells. This is work of nature, but guests leave lot of garbage and nobody is cleaning around sunbeds. - Security This is story for it self. There a lot of sunbeds and umbrellas, but most of them are kind of reserved with towels. Some by the guests, but most of them by security guys. So, if you go to the beach after 10, probably all sunbeds are reserved, without any people around. You cannot go earlier because cannot take beach towels from reception before 10. In order to get sunbeds you should give money to security, every day, or wait some real guests to leave the beach. Security guys are also use guests sunbeds in order to hide some forbidden stuffs like cigars from beach sellers, when there is police control on the beach, which my cause problem to the guests with police (maybe are not only cigars in those boxes). Security guys probably are getting money from beach sellers. - Animation Those guys are trying to animate the guests, but some times approach is bit aggressive and not polite. Night program is pretty much same for one week. They are selling expensive shirts with prints, if you ask for something from them you can get reply like, ok 5 euros, even for taking picture on the mobile. They are askig the guests to give positive review on Tripavisor, even offer to share internet just for this. Most of the positive reviews here are fake and posted by animation team. There are two billiard tables that are in very bad condition, table tennis which will fall any moment. Did not see that somebody was playing mini golf or tennis. Nobady invest in the hotel. - Guests Guests are mostly from North Africa and there behaving very bad. Before every meal they are standing in long lines, first to take food, taking lot of plates full with food, arguing with personal from kitchen, bars, taking lot of sunbeds, chairs, not taking care about hygiene. This is not hotel for tourist from Europe. - Local salers on beach Be careful with those guys. They will try to sell you items for 5, 6, 7 time more from the regular price. For example one towel they are selling for 35 TD, and same in the shop in city centre is 5 TD, probably in the Bazar out of the centre is 2, 3 TD. They will tray to scam you in order to take as mach possible money. Never send kids, specially with more money, because they will never return spear money and try to give as less possible items. - Hotel shops Extremely expensive. Avoid as possible. - Taxi Will try to take you as much possible money. Don't want to use taxi meter, because based on the prices is very chip. From hotel to the city centre will be around 5 TD. Always agree on price before sitting in taxi and always have exact amount of money in TD. Thay will ask for 10 TD, and you shoud not pay more then this amount. They are driving like crazy. Cars are very dirty, like everything in Tunisia. - City Mahdia Garbage, bad smell, unpleasant agresive sellers, that are intrested only for your money, trying to sell staff that you don't need. - Excursions We have been on camel ride and on boat trip. Don't recommend both of them. Camel ride is exhausting for you and for camels. Locals are taking lot of pictures that will try to sale to you at very high price. Boat will take you from the city and take you close to the hotel, where water is clear, but will not stop here for swimming. Instead will take you near the city where there il lot of dirt in the sea and stop there for swim. Food on boat was prepared on very dirty barbeque which was wash with dirty water from one very dirty bucket. Don't even think to eat there. At the end they are going to each guest and asking for money/tip. If you give them less then they expect or not give them, they become offensive.…

The worst hotel ever. Everything dirty and broken. Toilet smell in the room. Not 4* at all. We had to change the room the first day as it was unbearably smelly. Second one was better, but sink was stuck and dirt everywhere. We cleaned by ourself at the end, because the service only did beds and nothing else. Even after the requests. We arrived with travel agency and almost everyone was changing room. Some did multiple time before realizing they won't get anything better. Food very poor and mostly spicy, so not for kids. Air con in big restaurant mostly not working. Constant shortage of drinks. Beer not available half of the time. Soft drinks sometimes, but sometimes only local variation of Fanta. Nothing else. Waterslides half closed. The one for younger did not work. They were actually the main reason we picked this hotel. But didn't use much at the end. Almost no fruit. Only melons for lunch/dinner. After third day of hearing that beach towels will be tomorrow, we gave up and used ours. Luckily, we had some. The only really good part of the hotel was swimming pool. Kids would spend 24/7 in them if they could. Animation was good for adults, but when we tried to do something with kids, we head this is 'Adults only' activity all the time. So only kids disco pretty much for younger ones. …

We do not recommend this hotel! Nothing works there! Dirt and smell! Room was terrible: hair and rubbish from previous guests. You do not want to see the bed sheets … The room was changed after conversation with arrogant receptionist….Second room was a bit better: The sink was stuck - unusable! The toilet -disgusting! We ask to clean the room but unsuccessfully! Eatery?: Still waiting in a queue for something! Aircon in eatery works sometimes! No drink such a beer and others…no snacks (sometimes leftovers- dry croissants from breakfast)Terrace: dirty and sticky chairs and tables. Some chairs are even broken- no place to sit. …Half of the waterslide are closed. Arrogant stuff! - many disappointed guests. We would say max 2 stars hotel! The pool is nice and suitable even for little kids. The sandy beach is nice too with free deck chairs. Garden area is lovely. Definitely no 4 stars hotel !!!…

I didn't like anything about this hotel, e everything was bad or even worse than the word bad. The room service is not good ,the cleaning is not daily , the food is really the worst thing l've ever had. The swimming pool is not clean, and sometimes we find juice cups in it, and i didn't even understand because what they put in it ,even our skin became very red.... And animation ,a not-so-good revitalization band. They don't do good shows
