El Mouradi Mahdia Hotel's prime beachfront location is often lauded by guests, though the hotel's value is regularly questioned due to concerns about conditions and service that don't align with its 5-star rating. The atmosphere is described as lively, with engaging activities, but the outdated ambiance and cleanliness have been criticized. While the hotel's amenities, including pools and entertainment, are popular, some travelers are disappointed by their maintenance. Service experiences vary widely, ranging from commendable to disappointing. Rooms are frequently viewed as damp and in need of updates.

An older hotel further from the center of Mahdia's old town (which is conveniently accessible by taxi) offers classic double rooms with sea views (at extra charge). The hotel staff (receptionists, cleaners, waiters, lifeguards) were helpful and hardworking. The pool and the sea were clean. I liked the food, but you have to take into account the workload of the waiters at peak times (sometimes you have to look for cutlery or wait a while).

Through delegate Faouzi, you can arrange trips (El Jem, Mahdia, two-day Sahara and others). He has been working as a delegate in the Mahdia region for a long time and I would like to thank him very much for his work.

A big thank you also goes to the animation team, they offer morning and afternoon activities and an evening program. I went to archery, petanque, aqua gymnastics and step aerobics, there was also the opportunity to play volleyball and morning stretching. In the evening, after the mini club, I danced together with the animators, then another program followed (different every day), ending at about 11 o'clock in the evening. All the animators (Manou, Salim, Asmee, Yousseff, Dhia, Marissa) were very pleasant and smiling, they seemed to enjoy their work. They tried to involve the guests in the activities.
I would love to come back to Tunisia again.

Firstly let me say the transfer was at least 4 hours from the airport that we flew into. Arrived at 5am in the morning after a quick check in we were taken to our room. When we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised we had a suite which was unexpected but a nice surprise. Room was lovely sea view couldn't have asked for more. The hotel was spotless the staff were friendly and helpful. The food well as a fussy eater myself I still managed to eat something everytime .The waiters were great cleaned tables very quickly fresh water on table at every meal. Would I go again yes but fly into a closer airport.

The hotel does not deserve 5 stars, that is a fact, but it is certainly characteristic of Tunisia (and El Mouradi hotels) that stars are not a valid indicator of anything.
As for hygiene, I personally had no complaints because our towels (in the room) were changed every day, shampoos, soaps and room cleaners were replenished. The guests had a problem with beach towels because at one point there were not enough of them, I think it was resolved later. The biggest problem was the huge crowds, at the beginning of our stay the hotel seemed like it was not yet ready for the start of the season, but day by day you could see that things were changing for the better. The restaurant on the beach did not work until June 19, and when it opened, everything was great. The food is okay, nothing special, but there is something for everyone. Pancakes were baked during the day from 17:00 to 18:00. I would recommend everyone who goes to this hotel to make a reservation for dinner a couple of times in their A la carte restaurant, the service is great, the ambiance as well, and the food, I'll leave the pictures for you to see. Rooms are not the best, but if you don't like the first one you get, you can ask the reception to change your room, they are really trying to solve every problem and make you satisfied. We changed the room on the first day because the refrigerator in the room did not work, and we got a slightly better room with a view of the sea and the pool. Internet was only available at the reception, so we bought sim cards at the hotel store. The staff is friendly, but during our stay, there were not enough of them, probably in the season there will be more staff. The team of animators is GREAT, and if they see that you are not interested in playing with them, they will let you continue relaxing or whatever you are doing. I think they are the best part of the hotel honestly. There is also a "playroom" for small children and one of the animators who looks after them and plays with them during the day. Regarding sunbeds, you had to get up early to get a spot on the beach and pool, it seemed like there wasn't enough sunbeds for all the guests, but if you're an early bird you won't have a problem. At the beginning, the beach seemed average, probably because the weather was bad, but as the weather improved, so did the guests' overall impression of the hotel and the beach 🙂 Also, there is a small market and a couple of souvenir shops 2 minutes from the hotel, and a taxi to the center of Mahdija costs from 3-10 dinars, depending on yours and drivers deal.

In other hotels just don't swerve into this one! The reception on arrival totally overwhelmed, not even a page helps you bring the suitcases to the room. In the main restaurant there is no eye-catching, totally chaotic the table clearing/uncovering, food was not written to - ALLERGERS have the total look. The manager does not take care of the hotel areas at all, neither does they control them. After contact, the guest gets the impression that the guest is annoying! The manager is also not receptive to small suggestions for improvement. Wi-Fi only in lobby area. The dishes are broken off - you can get injured here- is nevertheless offered to the guest every day again.
Even with a hotel that has become old, you can maintain the standard with daily checks, which has not been the case here for years. It was only during an announced visit from the management level that the guests were able to experience the hustle and bustle of the day before. Since everything was then acutely cleaned on high polish, trimmed, swept, cleaned, covered, fixed - I would suggest to the hotel management times incognito check in there 2 days, then you can see it directly that the pretended quality is just sham!
My rating:
Don't go to this hotel, because you can spend your saved holiday money better elsewhere where quality is right!

Hotel 5 * maybe twenty years ago today 2 * scarce - fantastic location but cleanliness and bad services - humidity can not put in the closet clothing - requested towels at reception 2 times at h.19 no one was heard - Minimum restaurant without too much alternative - beach restaurant from 12.30 to 14.30 to 13 finished vegetables not stocked and tell you that they arrive - sin even with the services at the beach bar.... Only juice and beer.... coffee machine broken day yes and no....coca cola ditto ... water lukewarm boccioni.... poolfront bar useless 2 granite and water bottle -disco never organized anything and entertainment only for Tunisians 80% - shame if it was followed a little more and renovated a minimum would be acceptable as value for money.... Eden expired own non-existent assistance !!!! Good holiday for the beautiful sea but certainly not for the structure !!!!!!

The hotel certainly does not correspond to 5 stars. We changed the room on the first day, the air conditioning did not work, the rooms smell, there are no safes, no refrigerators, so no minibars either. The cleaning was really very below average. I paid for all inclusive, but they don't have a glass larger than 2dcl in the entire hotel, so they pour your beer into a coffee cup or a wine glass. The mixed drink is usually poured into a 1dcl glass, larger 2dcl only on request. The bar on the beach is really the worst thing I've ever experienced. Beer only in a cup for coffee, no alcohol, then some colored fanta in the morning, which is no longer available after lunch, so they pour you a local coke. Food tastes quite good, but exactly the same for 7 days, fruit only peaches and once grape wine. The nicest thing here is the really clean and warm sea and sandy beach.

Photos appear nice but unfortunately the hotel is in serious need of a complete refurbishment of bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms and dining areas.. in fact everything.

It’s such a shame because the hotel has potential, staff are hard working but met by rude customer upset about all sorts of issues.

Cleanliness is appalling, dining area got filthy table mats, old chairs and some food is not thoughtfully selected.

Also, I don’t know why they suggest to be a 5 star resort on some websites, this is a 3 star at best if one wants to be generous.

Pool bar is pathetic to say the least, soda and beer from a tap, where are the fruits, ice cream, snacks and cocktails? Whilst all inclusive, if one forgets the times things are served you will just have to starve!!

Please spend your money elsewhere.

A stay that will not remain as good memories and I still have 3 days left....
First of all, 175€ per night and service that is not up to par at all.
Exclusive Soft formula level is limited to still water or sparkling water every other time, not cold, coffee and for children strawberry or orange juice but of course not fresh. No coke, fanta, sprite... during the meal and the day either or only for 1 or 2 hours during the day.... Meals for 3 days are often the same thing even sometimes not cooked, the cook surely has a problem with salt because the dishes without salt and therefore without taste....except for a new product once a day limited often to turkey meat and you have to queue for 1 hour to be served.. ..
The service is terrible, you have to ask each time to have a correct minimum basic service (incomplete cutlery, lack of glass, napkin on request, salt and pepper non-existent, clearing of plates not carried out....
The deckchairs at the sea and swimming pool are reserved by people as they wish....
Fortunately the swimming pool and the sea are clean....
Finally my wife who is Tunisian is even worse served than me European and borderline rude towards her....

Hello are going to be honest in my review this Pension does not deserve 5 stars that the tour operators sell us elsewhere have the sights not even on the front of the hotel I pence that the hotel lacks the means lack of mattress cutlery towels for deckchairs . deckchairs our decent room we were well received sea view carpeting it has to be removed in some places it gives off bad smells at the restaurant considering the number of people c is very just too wasteful at the customer level and please rid a minimum your table takes 30 seconds all put together some respect anyway!! Beautiful beach and were lucky no Jellyfish!! To finish a big bravo and a big thank you to all the staff who do their best in this period just it would be nice also to provide a small coffee machine for the early Check-out we said In the reception room but it does not work and last info if you have the chance to come to Mahdia especially not to land in Tunis but Monastir it is really too long still hope to come back one day in your hotel

My question is how can this structure have 4 out of 5 dots

Structure cataloged as a 5-star... never, ever can be classified in this way.

Only two people at the reception speak Italian, the staff (waiters, lifeguards, cleaning women, bartenders) no one speaks
The structure is presented, hall apart, in a state that I would call obsolete.
The rooms are very ruined, old with a smell like room perfumer.
The mattresses completely smashed, the sheets stained.
The bathroom should be restored, it has only the bathtub, in which there are no hangers and various equipment (you can see it because on the wall there are holes or part of the structure), hair dryer not working.
The towels, if you are lucky to find them, we waited for them from 15 to 18:45 on the first day, they are clean, you can smell bleach, but stained.
We waited 8 hours for the safe, initially in our room was not present.
Mealtime seems like a race to who arrives first (there are not enough tables for all the rooms), with endless queues for the grill or pizza part, but it was enough to "study" the schedules of other guests to find a little less crowd.

Too bad because the kindness of the staff, the crystal clear sea, the beach and their culture deserve a much better structure.
I do not think this structure is suitable for Italians.
