La Badira, member of the Leading Hotels of the World, recounts Hammamet's illustrious past, since Paul Klee's trip to Tunisia in 1914, followed by dozens of artists, such as André Gide, Arletty, Oscar Wilde, Jean Cocteau and Sophia Loren. All came to Hammamet in search of the rare quality of its light. La Badira has 130 suites of 45m² to 160m2, five restaurants combining tradition and innovation, and the only Spa by CLARINS in the country. Intimate spaces have been created in and around the hotel with a library, an indoor fireplace, La Badira cocktail bar, and jasmine and bitter orange scented lawns. The shop, dedicated to local craftsmanship, illustrates the authenticity and charm of Tunisia. Like travelers, writers and adventurers of the last century, guests feel at home and with friends. La Badira represents all the charm of yesteryear revisited with a modern approach, a place where regular visitors and newcomers can mingle with simplicity, elegance and discretion.

So my fellow perfection seekers, look no more. This is the a hotel like no other and one you will want to come back to over and over again. Why do I say that? Because this is the one hotel we have come back to over and over again! We are not one for returning to old loves because as we know things never seem to be as they were the first time around, but La Badira, oh my sweet love, you never disappoint our beating hearts Four times we have visited this stunning place and we are now looking to arrange another visit just as soon as we can to celebrate our freedom from 'House Arrest' (lockdown). The food, rooms, service, pools, gym, beach, architecture are 5 star plus and the vibe of the place is so cool, with a capital C. Not poncy in any way considering it's a five star heaven with the added bonus of being for adults only! Tons of shout out's staff wise as all are superb at their jobs, but a star above stars is one Mo Rouissimed, an absolute Legend amongst a troupe of Legend's. Guy's just go there to see what you have been missing in your lives, you will not be disappointed, I assure you

We’ve really enjoyed our long week-end in this fancy hotel. The accommodation was really good, professional staff and a big choice for the breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the pool and the SPA. We have tried the international food restaurant, it was fine but quite expensive.

We stayed there during the first week of March, when the number of guests was limited, giving the personel an opportunity to take care of us very well. The service was super friendly, the junior suite we occupied was comfortable, and the food in the (international) restaurant was excellent.

This property really helped turn around our Tunisia trip. After booking a few nights in Sousse at a well rated hotel we had to leave early and look for "the best" hotel we could find. La Badira showed up time and again as exactly that and so we booked a room. Showing up here was like finding a beautiful adults only oasis in a desert of challenge. While we loved eating local food with the locals and all of the other wonderful things one does to experience culture on a vacation, we'd been having a hard time finding hotels that didn't have toilets that flush suddenly or where housekeeping might barge in unapologetically or where the guests were so trashy and rude and the service made you feel unwelcome. La Badira had no children, everyone was so amazing on the staff, the food was truly great (though more expensive than outside) and getting a drink wasn't an adventure in finding out if the bartender knew had to mix a couple ingredients together. The rooms had lovely views of the ocean, the outdoor swimming pool was beautiful and the indoor/outdoor combined pool was a nice treat when the weather wasn't great. Breakfast was healthy and yummy with fresh donuts being made and lots of fruit. The beach on site was beautiful and the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. This would be my top choice hotel for the beaches of Tunisia and honestly the price is really great!

Note Feb time in Tunisia is a bit windy and cold - take appropriate clothes. Pro's: - Adults only :-) (very peaceful) Beautiful resort with private beach - Super clean and nicely decorated rooms and spacious (we had a Yasmine Room) - Classy, posh feel to the hotel, hotel grounds are lovely! - Spa facilities and Gym were great (free use of steam room, spa pool and gym) - Close to Hamammet medina (Yellow taxi approx £2 one way which the hotel can call for you) - Staff (especially at breakfast) are super friendly and welcoming - Great breakfast buffet, always looked forward to our morning meals, served by Dhoha and Rouissi Mohammed who were AWESOME! Thank you! (Note to management: please try to provide Almond milk for vegans!) Con's: - The hotel will NOT provide an iron for your room, but will suggest you use the paid laundry service (be prepared for this or negotiate with the hotel accordingly!) - Dinner choices were so limited for vege/vegans (really disappointed with that!) There was only 1 restaurant open each evening, so we ventured out of the hotel every day. - Meals at the hotel were quite expensive and not much better than the meals we ate outside of the hotel unfortunately. - Pillows were really big and hotel did not offer a range of pillows (we found them quite high!) - When we checked into the room, our patio door would not lock (but the hotel organised a handyman straight away which took 10-15mins to fix) - Not much to do in the hotel in low season... was a bit boring, so we headed out every evening. It would have been nice to have the lobby area a little warmer so that guests can relax in the lobby instead of only having their rooms to go to (it can be quite chilly and windy at this time of year) - Some of the spa treatments were pricey for what they were, make sure you ask a therapist what's included in each treatment, as the descriptions in the spa menu were very misleading (which did cause a little issue for us... the spa manager was due to come back to us on this issue but we did not hear back so ended up paying full price PLUS booking another treatment to make up for it) - We booked about 13-15 spa treatments between 4 adults over the course of 5 days, and were given a 25min cap and face massage each complimentary (or 10% off). We did feel that this was a little 'stingy' considering the amount we actually spent in the spa, especially in low season. - Only 2 treadmills in the gym, so we found ourselves having to wait sometimes (for a gym of that size, we would have expected at least 4 treadmills) OVERALL: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN FOR SURE!

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at La Badira and we are happy that the whole service was up to live your expectations. Therefore, your feedback is very important to us and we will take into a count all of your comments. We have several types of pillows; did you ask at the reception? We would have gladly presented them to you. As for the restaurants, we have two : the first one presents Tunisian gastronomy and the second one is entrusted for world cuisine, simply you arrived on a Monday and our Tunisian restaurant is closed every Monday. We preferred to put only two treadmills in the gym in order to be able to provide our customers with other types of equipment. Finally, we will inform our chef to vary and provide more choice for vegans. We are waiting for the pleasure to serving you in the future. Luxury Yours, Saber Bouali, Guest Relation Mangaer.
