Visited here 2022 as a family and we have returned mainly because the hotel had such good fun vibes magic Manar as it was! Now it’s a TUI Blue and knowing what it was like before it’s changed a lot and not for the better.
The hotel says it had a re vamp but all they’ve done is give the rooms a luck of paint and put mirrors up it’s still the same and tbh nice and comfortable. The hotel has got fancy chairs and thats all that’s changed.
Food is a lot better I must say however we wasn’t returning based on food we was returning for the animation team the entertainment my daughter for 2 years spoke about them and we returned and it’s crap! We went to the mini disco twice it’s like watching a Zumba class too much time talking not age appropriate music. The evening entertainment after that we didn’t stay long enough looked like a few ppl doing aerobics very very poor. Not like it was! We’ve been back to the room 9pm more nights found more amusement looking at the tortoise in the shop!
Around the pool was so vibey animation team joining in dancing having a laugh now we get a not funny Scottish bloke singing … not for us! The hotel seems to have lost its magic.
You have an app now … reminds me of a haven app were you have to book things which does not work! Who wants to be on there phones on holiday all the time! Not for me! Didn’t book anything had to be on a waiting list! Also no wifi sometimes so does not work. Also they have a dog dressed up proper haven vibes for me that!
Staff work tirelessly the cleaners bar staff restaurant workers excellent friendly people. Very clean hotel and rooms cannot fault. Some of the staff i recognise before it turned into a haven TUI blue I fee the magic gone in there eyes you can tell they aren’t allowed to (have fun)
So sad we looked forward to this holiday and it’s been boring tbh can’t wait to home! The food is better i must say although as I wrote this I’ve been stuck in my room for 2 days me hubby daughter and now baby gone down with something I think the meat not cooked enough unsure so bring medication for this !
Tips
Bring fire sticks for rooms Bring £1
We had a 5 month baby with us and the shop on corner out of hotel sell SAFIA water this is the lowest sodium we found 22 per litre the hotels are nearly 40 per litre
Also bring kettle cleaner for limescale for kettle if boiling for baby because it’s high minerals in the water constantly causing limescale on kettle we took are own kettle and this happened constantly.
Not bad holiday but won’t return now TUI blue has ruined that hotel
Hope the staff stay on smiling

TUI blue Manar is one of the best all inclusive family resorts we have stayed in.
The food is 10/10 buffet style but always fresh and wide selection especially with item cooked in front of you. Theres one Al carte restaurant which is also really good and worth a visit on your trip. Sit outside whenever you can to eat, it’s much calmer.
Selection of nice cocktails, wines, beers and plenty of soft drinks. Although there’s a room fridge, you only get water in it which is a little bit of a shame as some soft drinks and beers would be a nice touch.
There’s plenty of pools and flumes, splash areas for little people. Two of the water slides you need a ring for, people do hog them and don’t give them up easily, my advice is to not be too polite to snap one up or take your own from home!
The lifeguards control the sunbeds. Most of which are stacked away at the end of the day to make the areas look nicer. All you need to do to get sunbeds is find a lifeguard, there’s no need to early hours reserve 🙄
TUI Reps and hotel staff are all 5* excellent. Friendly, welcoming and accommodating. If you have a query just seek out a rep in the lobby.
Evening entertainment is typical TUI blue standard and a good laugh. The entertainment and evening food is on a 1 week rotation though so more than 7 day stay and you will see it all again.
Kids club is 10/10. Reps are outstanding with the kids and normal TUI standards apply to children’s safety and security which I personally think is a must have requirement.
Standard rooms have no balconies otherwise they are perfectly fine and we liked the bit of separation between adult and kids beds without the 2 bedroom price tag.
Weather was outstanding in Tunisia in Aug! 😎
The one thing I wish we did different was book a private transfer. It’s the last drop off and circa 2hrs from landing, was hard work with young kids late at night. Otherwise I would book to stay here again in a heartbeat!

We have just returned from an amazing 2 week stay at this hotel. On arrival, quick efficient check-in and a very warm welcome.
Rooms: we had a twin room with a balcony beautiful views of the activity pool and the sea/beach. Room spotless, enough wardrobe space spacious room cleaned daily with shower bath shower gel and towels, air con although not the coldest didn't affect our stay, mini fridge with milk, water which was topped up as required. Coffee and tea with a kettle. (I would have liked a full-size mirror, but that's just me 🫢)
Food and drink: AMAZING food lunch and tea the best fillet steak, sea food, salmon fillets, currys, humous, the choices are, toast, pastries, pancakes, breads, cheese, meats etc. The restaurant gets busy after 730pm. If you don't like crowds, get there for 630-7. Breakfast was quiet around 8 am. The restaurant was spotless always staff cleaning all over the hotel. Panini bar open from 1230 so was the snack bar we went to them all lunch time again someone always cleaning and the friendliest staff.
Entertainment: something to do all day long night entertainment aimed at children but we did see some good shows the beach party and the silent disco my fave wished the silent disco was on another night too. The entertainment team were fantastic. You do need to book some activities via the app.
Pools: activity pool, quiet pool, slide pool all great fun we stayed by the activity pool the first week then the beach the last week, lifeguards were amazing if your stuck for a sun bed just ask they will find you one. Pool towels available and can be changed daily.
Beach amazing with a beach bar which is a god send beautiful white sandy beaches the street vendors didn't bother us at all told no once left us alone, we did every water sports there the cheapest I've ever been on. Sea warm and clear we didn't see 1 jellyfish. Again staff are amazing.
Al la cart restaurant is a must the food was delicious we spoke to the Tui rep who booked ours as our app didn't allow us to book on it well worth a visit just book as soon as you arrive as it fills up quick.
We have had the most relaxing time as mentioned food amazing, hotel spotlessly clean. It was the staff that amazed me most I've never known such friendly staff this includes everyone cleaners, gardners, lifeguards, bar staff, reception, entertainment team, tui reps it was a pleasure to be around them job well done.

As soon as we got here we felt so comfortable. the place is beautiful. staff are very attentive but not over bearing. Momo the lifeguard around the quiet pool is amazing nothing is to much trouble and he is happy all day long we missed him on his day off. The beach is lovely soft sand beds cleaned down for you no rubbish left anywhere and there is water sports beach bar and toilets near by. everything is so clean. The food was nice if you are fussy you are missing out myself and the kids all tried new things that we liked. if you are fussy the pizza is unbelievable freshly cooked so nice.there is some table service when you are on the loungers but not a lot as this isnt realy provided you go to the bar yourself. alcohol...the beer is lovely as are the wines we did like the cocktails the manar colada is strong frozen cocktail a must try.you will need your own toiletries only towels and soap provided in the room. mini bar is only water and milk although we didn't have a kettle in our room so did wonder why milk? I think mabe a option for a drinks package at extra cost would be nice. the room was clean only down point was No bunk beds as we booked this room with the kids wanting bunk beds. I do understand the room have been decorated but we were not made aware we may of booked a different room had we of known. Overall not 5☆ due to a few small details definitely 4☆+ we are realy enjoying our time here hotel is clean throughout staff are amazing and food/drinks delicious. we will be back to Tunisa again it's a wonderful place.

This was hands down the best holiday we have ever been on. It was our first as a family of 5, so were quite nervous about what to expect especially with an 18mth old (our youngest).
The airport was a breeze, we opted for a private transfer, too!
Upon arrival at the hotel, we were treated like royalty! The staff were welcoming, polite & couldn't do enough for you. Throughout the holiday, the pool staff, lifeguards, entertainment team, childcare staff and resturant staff were incredible, I don't think there is a phrase better than going "above and beyond", but if there was, they did it! Even down to housekeeping staff, we had to have additional sheet changes during out stay, and they were so polite and accomodating of this.
The food in the hotel was great, slightly repetative for children, but there was always something different for the adults - we never went hungry... and the dessert station - WOW!!
I must reccomend the hotel photo shoot, we ended up with a total of 15 prints for around £45, so it wasn't overly cheap, however the photos were brilliant and he was so patient with our children.
We are already trying to plan to come back to this hotel and wondered if there was a way to book a 2 week stay directly with the hotel, rather than booking a package holiday!?

We had a superb and unforgettable vacation at the Magic Manar hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, spacious, air-conditioned. Possibility of private swimming pool in front of the room. The hotel is superb, it's like a small village, with all kinds of activities, you can do several sports there, gym, football, tennis, water polo, etc. There are several large swimming pools, one relaxing, one with a swim-up bar + ambiance, music, one with various slides and activities for the little ones, one indoors, with a spa/massage area. The proximity to the beach is very practical, access to the deckchair is free, no additional costs. One towel per person is lent each day (very practical, no need to even load the suitcase with towels). In an all-inclusive formula, no additional cost, drinks, snacks, cakes are included and unlimited all day long. Wide variety of choices at the buffet, you can eat everything, children and adults alike. The servers are great and responsive. Concerning excursions, without hesitation I recommend stopping by Momo, to book a morning or afternoon camel ride, or to go quad biking, which I recommend +++ (superb circuit and landscapes). We also took part in an excursion to Tunis and Sidi Bou Saïd, it was superb and very beautiful to do!
Finally, the best for last, a big +++++ for the chef and his superb team of entertainers. They do their job wonderfully, very smiling, endearing, kind, funny, they set the right atmosphere. Entertainment from morning to evening. We had shows every evening, followed by a disco atmosphere for everyone. A pang in the heart when leaving. All the staff do everything to make their customers feel as good as possible.
A big thank you to the entire team at the Manar hotel. I recommend and take pleasure in leaving this review.
See you soon ! Audrey and Arnaud

Very nice beach and seaside Great balcony view Very friendly staff Breakfast food : nice selection
Negative:
Lunch food: not good Dinner food: not good Beer: gasoline White and red wine: vinegar Minibar (room of 4): unique content is 1 bottle of water + 1 carton of milk. Fridge is inside the wardrobe. Towel kiosk: open only 10-12 and 14:30-17, so every day need to keep the wet sandy beach towels in the room until the day after. Main restaurant is 5 minutes walk far from the block 2 of the hotel + 3 ramps of steps to reach it. Rooms are 35 year old and never refurbished. Corridors got red old carpets Only 2 Elevators to reach high floors on building 2. Elevators also 35 years old, broke after few days, repaired 5 times in a week. Crumbling walls, yellow patches in the bath Internet only works in the lobby and in the room. Zero signal at the restaurant, beach, pool. There are 2 Kids clubs, one for English speaking children, with activities and opening times that differ from the one for non-English speakers. I find odd having different times and activities based on kids clubs that should offer the same service. Pool slides shut down between 12:00 and 14:00 so forget having fun on those hours. Queues for kids' club, queues for food, queues for anything basically. Spent 25 minutes under the sun queueing for a defrosted baguette with ham and cheese. The beach, that serves hundreds, has got 1 toilet (for males) and 1 indoor shower with a broken lock. Camels and horses are offered on the beach for a ride at a cost. Regretfully they, naturally, pee on the same beach in front of the loungers of the hotel. Reusable plastic cups used for cocktails at the pools and at the beach bar. Very green but I doubt the hygiene. Sellers of food and souvenirs are constantly on the beach and every single day, multiple times a day, will ask you if you want to buy something.
Considering that flight + hotel for 2 adults and 2 kids costed £5700, overall, 2 star it’s all this place gets. We WON’T come back. This is a very very old and tired hotel. Although the staff is always smiling and helpful, the hotel is clearly understaffed, reflecting a very poor service across the all facilities. How TUI gave 5 TUI stars to this place is beyond my comprehension. Certainly, we won’t trust the TUI rates after this fail.

Thank you for taking time to write your review. We appreciate your honest words and will take them in consideration where possible. Nevertheless, we’d like to take the opportunity to provide our statement in order to avoid misunderstandings for future customers. Obviously, assessment of food and drinks is always subject to a highly subjective perception. However, it is very important for us to stress the fact that our entire food & beverage sector operates impeccably hygienically. This standard is regularly monitored through internal and external inspections (CRISTAL international). Opening times of all our facilities as well as room amenities correspond accurately to the brochure description of the tour operator. The hotel is well maintained and undergoes regular refurbishments, including elevators, rooms and all other facilities. In Tunisia we don’t have private beaches, which means we have to guarantee free passage for everyone. However, our security staff makes sure that no vendor approaches to our sun loungers area. Once again, thank you for your feedback which allows us to refine our offer and services.

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. Every member of staff from the gardeners, bar staff, pool staff maids are so friendly, kind and can’t do enough for you. Our room was one of the Dens, it was cleaned everyday by the maids clean towels, our bed was comfortable so wore the pillows, The food was great loads of choice even for fussy people like me, we had prawns 5 days out of the 7, my husband enjoyed steak, lamb and the cakes wore delicious. Pool areas wore kept clean and tidy life guards wore lovely, The tui reps wore fantastic all of them Marcia, Nancy, and the man who did my aqua aerobics everyday especially. The entertainment in the evening was not great, we had the same acts both weeks. I don’t understand why the chairs wore all lined up like a cinema with no tables in the inside bar, and not enough tables in the outside bar I think there was only about 5. But the lobby and bar was lovely and I loved the man who played piano. We will be returning next year xx

Amazing holiday. Me and my family were here from 3rd June to 10th June. We wish we had booked longer as we had the best time and didn’t want to come home. There was 13 of us which included a 5year old and 9 & 13 year old and would say was something for everyone.
We would like to thank all the Tui team especially Brown & Boabo. Absolute grafters who are very good at their jobs. My daughter loved their dancing skills.
Also to the waiter that would have our table set outside every night for us, being 13 of us was nice we could sit together.
The cleaner was very good too he would do creative things to our room every day. One of the days we had towel swans on our bed kids loved it.
Lifeguards round the main pool also made our holiday they were interactive with the kids and didn’t mind a having water fights with the kids. Water slides also really good fun for the kids and adults.
Food was lovely something for everyone. Omelettes at breakfast were lovely and the lady making them was always so happy and nice to chat too she is opposite where the croissants are. We had an early flight home and the breakfast area is opened up early with a small choice but such a lovely touch this is done.
A la carte is worth booking you get one visit to it for free and the food was lovely and different to what is been served in the main restaurant. If you struggle to book on the app go to the Tui rep she booked this for us as it just kept saying it was full.
Pilates class was very good, thank you Chiheb.
Water sports - our family tried all the water sports and if you like these activities definitely worth doing. We paid in English money. £10 per person for most of the water sports, jet ski was around £40.
Thank you for making our holiday the best, we would recommend and we would look to come back.
Clair x
