One big building, long coridors, old furniture. Rathe big hotel territory, but neglected. Big beach, sun umbrellas, deck-chairs, but the beach not always clean. In the restautant table-clothes can be with spots and holes, unkempt waiters. Food is mostly national. Specific national service. But very few people, quiet, no animation. The hotel was 5 stars, but long ago.

Just back from my holidays in Tunisia. Same town, same hotel, same thief. In fact, as I did last time, I left a big sum of money in my suitcase, certain it was impossible to open the padlock which closed it. But apparently, somebody was able to open it very easily and stole 500 euros. Exactly as happened in 2013. My fault: never leave anything precious, especially money, in a suitcase. But how is possible that this awful person still goes around in the hotel stealing as he wants? I didn't inform the director because I did last time but he never let me know anything. Besides even if the director is a nice person, he is always in a hurry. In fact, he is in such a great hurry that he never thanked me for a bottle of whisky which I gave him not directly but through a member of the reception. What else? The hotel is clean enough and the see is beautiful. Yet, this person has spoiled my holidays. He should be found out and sacked.

This isnt the greates of hotels but the staff are lovely and the rooms were kept clean and tidy. The best part is the beach. The white sand and the warm waters were amazing. The food is repetitive and there isn't much nearby but there is easy access to toher more touristy areas.

I visited in Sept. 2014 and meant to write a review at the time and didn't. With recent events bringing Tunisia to mind thought it was time to so so. My sister and I had a great time at the royal azur. My preference is for quiet beach holidays in my downtime and this fit the bill. You could see why the hotel warranted a 4☆ and at one time would have looked great. A little tired and dated but still had great features and amenities. Fridge balcony robes safe and air con all included. Air con worked well in our room which was bigger than most rooms I have stayed in. Staff in the main are very friendly and a few with stoney faces but you get that every where and who wouldn't have off days especially with the way some tourists behave. Beach had plenty of loungers and helpful gents who moved them for you if necessary. Really enjoyed the doughnuts from the walk along guy 2 dinar I think! Food in hotel good nothing bad to say about it apart from some of the other hotel guest pushing and generally acting if they had never been fed before. Whole experience was delightful and a bargin at 550 quid for 2 weeks. From a compus mentus middle manager!!!

we travelled as a couple Sept 2014 and had a lovely time here. The staff were so welcoming, had lovely food half board.Plenty of food choices for evening meals, salads, soups, hot meats and vegs and the fruits and sweets on offer 2nd to none. The breakfast chef cooked us lovely omelettes each morning, just go to the counter, give him a dinar as a tip and you have a chef for life. This hotel is right in the heart of Hamammet so out the front of hotel and you are with local folks, it is great.Out the back of hotel through the gardens and down the steps to lovely beach. Nothing to do but lie on your sunbed under a sun shade, free , but give the beach guy a dinar or two for a tip. Watch the sea, chill out and relax and get some sun. If you want frenetic holidays with loud music,Butlins type entertainment day and night...do not come here. If you want a relaxing chill out holiday in a great hotel, being looked after by friendly hotel staff..this is the place for you. We booked a day out to Carthage,Sidi Bou Side,Tunis and the Bardo museum with a stop for lunch at a typical Tunisian fast food cafe, it was really good. If you get the chance to eat a Tunisian brik, do so.Chef cooked them at the hotel a couple of times but you can also get them at the cafe across the road to right at front of hotel. We loved this hotel and are going back in Oct 2015 for a couple of weeks R& R.

This place was booked via cosmos (Co-op) travel agency. This hotel was horrendous, I was gutted when I turned up here, my heart sank. I paid for all inclusive, it was like a bombed out town or a post war zone. I complained to the tour operator at the time, I complained to the hotel manager, he even agreed it was bad, but he could do nothing. I even complained to my travel agent when I got home. The sad thing is, 5 friends warned me not to go when I said I'd booked the holiday, I thought they were winding me up...... Whoever has said that this hotel is good works for the company or is absolutely deluded and should be recaptured and placed back in the lunatic asylum, pronto!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet so you can make up your own mind: Issues - The hotel is very shabby from the outside - The beach area is tired and messy with few chairs and no shade - You have to pay to use the pool by the beach featured in all the photos as it is part of the spa - You are seated during meals with complete strangers, who may or may not speak the same language! - The food choice is a limited buffet style though was high quality and well cooked - The hotel is in the middle of no where, you have a hefty walk or taxi ride into Hammamet - Our greeting was extremely rushed, almost as if they were not expecting us Great points - The pool area was lovely though limited seats around the pool - Our room was large with three double beds, lovely balcony and bathroom - The interior of the hotel is lovely, clean and the staff are reasonably friendly, the pool boy in particular Over all I would say you get what you pay for. We needed a cheap budget holiday but I was most disappointed by the lack of night life with the hotel and area having little going on in the evening. I would not recommend or return, visited in June 2013.

Just returned after second visit to this hotel and it was even better this time. As I've been before my room was upgraded so had a fantastic view of the beach. Staff were amazing as they remembered me and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are brilliant, kind and go the extra mile to make sure you have a fantastic holiday. Try this hotel, you wont be disappointed it really is first class. Tip, try the German coffee shop to the right of the hotel, beautiful food and great value. Also the gift shop opposite the hotel, set prices and again good choices and prices. The spa pool was an amazing experience one which I will certainly use again.
