Enjoyed our three day stay at Captain Visger's. We were traveling with our daughter and had booked two rooms that we were able to open the connecting doors to have access to both...very nice in the evening to sit and relax and reflect on our day travels to the castles, hiking trails and restaurants. Made numerous trips to Ivy Lea... More

We stayed for 4 nights (and 4 superb, work of art, breakfasts!) and had a wonderful time. Our room was terrific (had a partial view of Boldt Castle) and we made a lot of use of the second floor library. Sam is a wonderful cook and breakfasts were outstanding. She gave terrific recommendations for places to see and spots to... More

A bed and breakfast with gourmet food. Sam encouraged us to make ourselves at home. My wife and I were there 6 days taking day trips. Large portions for breakfast so we only ate one other meal in a day. Sam, she, gave guidance of what to see and where to go eat. We crossed the Canadian border 3 times... More

As always our stay at Captain Visger House in Alex Bay was excellent. Rooms are so comfy. Front porch and back patio are so welcoming. Common interior areas are comfortable and welcoming. Sam the Innkeeper goes above and beyond to make sure all of her guests are taken care of as if they were all family. The place is so... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Captain's Visger House. What a fantastic home base this was for exploring Alexandria Bay! We stayed in Lavina's retreat....and I'm still dreaming about that be! First time that I was able to sleep soundly the first night away from home. This B&B is a feast for your eyes! There are antiques mixed... More

Stayed 2 nights Nov 3&4. Enjoyed our time tremendously. Sam is dedicated professional with a sincere interest in people and their stories, so she is an engaging host. In addition, she is a phenomenal cook who provides gourmet breakfasts. We will return.

We stayed two nights at the Captain Visger House during our trip around Lake Ontario and enjoyed our stay very much. The owner, Sam, was very friendly and she served a fantastic breakfast, even accommodating our needs making gluten free servings. The rooms were provided with individual heating / cooling units so the temperature could be set for personal comfort.... More

My husband and I stayed at Captain Visger House while visiting our Daughter and Son in Law stationed at Ft Drum. The location was perfect, right in downtown and within walking distance to everything. The Captain's Suite is the absolute best with plenty of room for lounging, yes it is worth the price difference. We stayed in Harmonious for one... More

The 1000 Islands area was a new experience for my husband and me. We had traveled through New York on our way home from Montreal several years ago and always wanted to return and spend some time there.......boy are we glad we did! We stayed for a week at the Captain Visger House and loved it. The B&B is on... More

We stayed here for 2 nights based on the Trip Advisor reviews. We have stayed at many B&Bs around the world and found this to be sorely lacking. We paid a high seasonal rate of $196 a night, which was way overpriced for this place. We found the common area and room to be very dated... Not in a quaint... More

Our external world mirrors our internal world. We see ourselves in others. All of my guests are amazing people! I am sorry for not being here to greet you properly. Occasionally I try to create a life beyond the walls of the House, it is difficult as guest arrival can be from early in the day until very late in... More
