Second time in this unique sports resort in phuket, I was NTRP 4.5 at my best days, my daughter 11 has been playing for 4 years, So we know what's good coaching. I booked 10 private sessions for her and 5 for myself, coach Aum did a great job in these sessions and get her to play with better form on her forehand and more spin and placement on her backhand, very pleased with the fix. I took lesson from Coach Silvestre , Aum and Ball, all with good energy and knowledge. The daily tennis clinic is also good for doubles play with players at different levels. Some are local enthusiasts who play 6 times a week. Another point the weather is so humid in Thailand just standing in the tennis you will have a good workout, I changed shirts at least 3 to 4 time daily. Besides tennis, the daily dance, yoga, spinning sessions are great for my wife who wants to keep fit and relax her mind. Also excellent weight room and gym. Will come back again to work on my fitness and tennis.
Thanyapura is unique in its own way combining sports, health and wellness. Great for families with kids as well as there is something to do for everyone. Not a typical Phuket resort with beach, pool , restaurants and resort type activties. Its for serious people who want to train or learn any sport, take care of their health and mind. Quiet environment and nothing around so focus is only on the resort activities. Very relaxing as well. Service is excellent and the team there is well experienced to provide good service to the visitors. Be prepared to sleep early here as there is no bar or restaurant open at night.
We came here for a club triathlon training camp. The place is very well setup for a training camp. That being said, it is still rural Thailand, so if you are planning to go off campus for rides or runs, expect free range dogs. Pricing of things on campus is similar to Western prices. Much cheaper to go offsite for any supplies. Staff are super friendly. Facilities are world class. Gyms, pools, track ext. Hire bikes have had a tough life. So reccomend bringing your own bike if you plan on doing any serious cycling. Bring your own nutrition, eg gels and hydro tablets. I'm short, for a team training camp, you will only do better if you are part of your country's national team.
The resort is 100% for those who are serious about sport and training. Very well equipped in every way, and they have professionals to help and guide where needed. Rooms are big and well appointed, similar to that of a 4.5 star standard. Due to the fact that only one of the restaurant/café is operational, the menu is currently very limited; that said, food quality is high and good. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning to train again.
Excellent stay, great service, wonderful people. Medical clinic onsite for bike crashes. Friendly well looked after. Healthy food, comfortable clean spacious rooms. Wonderful pools, awesome gym, running track, hot/cold plunge spas. Great staff.
Came to get more fit! It was fab! The place is a wonderful place for training and wellness! Noi at the spa has magical hands! Overall meets my needs on my journey to fitness! Two thumbs up! Will be back!
It is a very special vocation that you can have the life back to root and purity! Everyday is all about releasing of dopamine that brings lot of joy by sweats and pushing own self boundary through all sort of exercises. Experience of staying in thanyapura formed by hotel and sports club, what made me extended the stay from one month to 2 months, is the courses and coaches in sports club. Whatever you are a beginner or a professional athlete, you can find something fit your own pace. All coaches there are professional and nice, they pay attention to your level and you can feel their warm welcoming to try to get people together to make everyone best benefit from the training. I appreciate and thank you for all the coaches, from yoga, fitness to tennis, Jay, Beer, Lawrence, Boy, Aek, Aum and Mike, particularly to the tennis coach Ball. He is the one encouraged me to move to participate in social match and clinic training from start up course. I joined some private sections with him and I found him very professional and passionated, he is not only teaching me the basic techniques but the strategies in the game play, which is very practical. His encouragement helps develop my interest in tennis that I called my 2nd months in thanyapura as tennis camp as I dedicated most of the time in tennis trainings and practicing. I look forward to spend time in sports club again.…
Pluses: (1) if I could give 11/10 for the tennis staff, I would. For context, my family all plays tennis. I am a 4.0, my daughter is a 7.0 UTR US ranked player, and my wife is a beginner. We have been to Nadal Academy, Saddlebrook, Hilton Head, and train at Stanford so I think we have been spoiled with great coaching. We did not know what to expect when visiting this place. To my surprise, I think the 1:1 tennis coaching here was the best I have ever had at a resort. We booked private lessons every day for 10 days and it was totally worth it, esp when considering the value/price of 1:1 privates. Coach Sylvester, Coach Ball and Coach Aum were truly amazing coaches and each were able to span our levels and needs as players which is difficult. For the coaching alone I give this place a 11/10. (2) Exceptional Staff - the hotel staff was universally helpful, kind and service oriented. They were always accommodating and helpful, whether figuring out laundry or finding a place to visit outside the hotel. Minuses: (1) Tennis courts had a leaking roof and most days the courts were wet due to heavy tropical rains. Mgmt needs to fix the roof, the gutter system and the drainage around the courts to ensure play isn’t affect. 5 star ITF coaches shouldn’t be busy mopping the courts, but coaches had a super awesome attitude helping to get the courts dry. Loved the coaching spirit to do whatever it takes. (2) Air Conditioning System - the last day of our stay the A/C was broken throughout the main building. This is a must fix issue for a resort in Thailand. Spend the time to fix the A/C system. That said, the night manager did the best job he possible could so kudos to the night mgr for making the stay as comfortable as possible, given challenges and finding us an alternative solution. (3) The resort feels like a 5 star facility but due to Covid and without enough occupancy, needed to reduce maintenance. I’m going to give them a pass since Covid has hit all Thailand very hard and they are trying their best. I hope they get back to full glory soon since we did love the tennis experience so much we’d come back for sure.…
Enjoy my stay at the hotel and managed to use many of the fitness facilities and activities. The staff is ever so helpful and friendly, made friends with the other sports and fitness enthusiasts as well and thoroughly nourished my spirit on this one week stay. Recommend it!
We stayed 7 nights at this fantastic health fitness resort that we have visited many times before. It was seemless getting from Australia to Phuket. Absolutely no issues and felt all very normal. The weather was absolutely perfect every day which we did not expect in the rainy season. The resort is in pristine condition and beautifully maintained even with all the past hell of Covid. The staff are superb as usual and we could not have had a more wonderful time and will return in September! LOVE THANYAPURA!!
