Baan Krating feels delightfully remote, although it's only minutes from Nai Harn beach. The rooms were lovely and the staff were excellent. It was low season so it was also very quiet and secluded. The food was fine - the service was fabulous. Snorkelling off the little beach wasn't great - the visibility made me worry about microplastics. It was the start of the rainy season so maybe it was just run-off, and there are certainly a lot of fish and a small reef. Nai Harn beach proper - and the small beaches further to the east - have a lot of plastic and rubbish in the water and it's tragic to see the impact on the natural environment. Baan Krating is still a delightful find and truly excellent value for money.

Great location in the "jungle", very private experience. Has a private beach what is quite unique in Phuket. Nice view from the bungalows. So much for the positives. The whole hotel is "old". Rooms could use a restoration, the wooden flooring is broken at several places, shower curtain is old, dirty and molded. Garden is not well maintained (such a pity, it's a beautiful place), grass is burned out, fences around the facility that should cover the equipment are broken / missing. The aircon did not work for 2 days but the repair staff is constantly repairing them. All equipment is just old and weared. Staff barely speaks english. It could be a great hotel if more effort was put into the maintenance. As it is now price / value is not so good for a 3* Phuket hotel.

This was our 1st time travelling to Thialand We stayed in the Bann Krating complex of around 30 rooms. Around an 1hour 15 mins from the airport, a taxi should cot around 700 bart. + 100 tip. The room was very clean with a king size bed and the shower and bathroom were of high quality. We had a limited sea view but it was fine, AC noise did not bother us. The staff could not do enough for you, they were fantastic such wonderful people all of them. in particular the following. Ratima (Joob Joob) restaurant manager. Suthipong (Nicky) GSA Supervisor. Nara (Ja-mat) restaurant Captain. AlongKron (Dom) Service attendant. The beech was private and very clean, the sea was very clean as well. If you like snorkeling you will not be disappointed. Just a 100 m away way supposed to be the best place to snorkel. Our travel assistant Wasana came to visit and helped ups book trips she was a pleasure to meet. Recommend James Bond island (Man with the golden Gun film) and the Elephant rescue retirement sanctuary (these are not ridden just looked after now after a hard life) The food was of a very good quality and I enjoyed every meal. I would really recommend the Bann Krating it's at the end of a road so not a lot of traffic. Marks out of ten 10. If I go back I would stay there again. Thanks Guys.

We spent our forth week in Thailand in this peaceful heaven. Jungle setting, seaview, great staff, good food and very very relaxing. That is what we were looking for. Yes, it is at th end of the road, and not in the town of NaiHarn, but there is a shuttle service to go to the larger beach, and they also rent scooters. What made our stay a 10 on 10 is the friendliness of the staff, especially the restaurant staff, Ratima (surnamed DjoopDjoop) the manager is witty, funny, and her staff (Nara and others) is always smiling and of great attention. The older bungalows are... older, but that is where we stayed and we loved it (#108 perfect location, near restaurant, pool, etc.)
