Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa is located on the hillside of North Patong. Only few minutes away from the Patong downtown where you can enjoy night life and shopping. We have a plenty of great choice of restaurants and bars within the hotel grounds, really impressive and well designed pool areas over looking the sparkling blue sea of Andaman. All rooms type are fabulous including our Pool Villas, all well appointed and furnished in gorgeous typically Modern-Thai furnishings.

What a magnificent place perched on top of a cliff. Two swimming pools, one with waterfall and slides. Spa is excellent as you would expect. Staff very attentive. This place is emasculate however does not cater for disabled or those who have difficulty with stairs.........there are lots of them.

Had a great deluxe suite however I ignored the warning re the steps issue that some added on Trip advisor and had warned against. It’s a real huff and puff if you’re not fit or elderly. From the reception area they have a continual small shuttle service that drops you half way up the hill then to get to where we were staying you climbed about another 30 odd steps to get to the lift to take you to the 5ft floor. We paid top dollar for a stunning very large room at first we thought the climb was worth it however after day 6 we soon tired of it and we struggled to get to the room. The spa pool also needs fixing water flew out of the jets all over the bathroom, things like this management need to check on a regular basis. Going back to the room, The lovely reception people transferred us to ground level which very found more manageable but a smaller room which we were happy to accept, so we spent out last 4 nights in the smaller room which was clean tidy and fine. The pool areas are lovely and very well looked after. The meals in the hotel were expensive but very nice. The free breakfasts were great with an excellent selection. Would I stay here again probably not because of the step climb to get everywhere. I really could not fault the rooms, food, pools or the staff. Well done Diamond Cliff Resort.

We recently stayed at the Diamond Cliff with our two young children, 5 and 2 years old. We arrived in the evening and were greeted with a warm welcome which is always a pleasant start to any holiday, after a 15 hour flight. The receptionist was friendly and offered drinks whilst we check in etc. Whilst checking in I was asked for 9000 baht (£250) as deposit. I was annoyed at this because we were not made aware of such requirement. We were shown to our room and I was not impressed due to the fact that the view from the balcony was not what I expected or had in mind. We were told that they are fully booked and therefore unable to change rooms. I made it clear that this was not acceptable and we were moved within no time to a much better room with a great view of the sea. The holiday had started now, the room was spacious and clean. The view from the balcony was breath taking and a cuppa went down well in the mornings. I cannot fault the room and the decor was fine. There is a safe in the room, however no iron and we requested for this, the iron was not taken from the room for the duration of our stay. I had read a review that the iron was taken after use but we had no issues. There is a mini fridge with drinks which are not complimentary, however they provide water bottles on daily basis in the room. In the bathroom they have all of the toiletries one would need for their stay. The hotel is beautiful but very steep and a shuttle is needed to go up and down. It's a good leg workout and you will get out of breath cos of the humidity climate. The breakfast is repetitive but it did the job, the seating area provides great views etc. The glasses for drinks are small and on one occasion I attempted to fill an empty bottle and I was told off, i explained that the glasses are small and you literally get few sips before you have to refill. The staff need to be flexible to individuals needs and not robustly stick to the codes. (Boring) The hotel does provide a shuttle into the shopping centre, but you will be lucky to secure a seat. We never used it, we always got a tuk tuk and it cost 200baht to Bangla Road, which is approximately 10minute ride from the hotel. We checked the excursions at the hotel but they are ridiculously expensive in comparison to what we paid with other tour operators. The airport is approximately 45minutes to an hour journey to the hotel, depending on traffic. We had private transfer but it's around 800 baht for a taxi. Bangla Road is an experience, colourful, loud, some areas smell horrendous and the usual nightlife that comes with it. It was safe to visit with children, no issues. Thai people are friendly but there are some rude individuals, they try to fleece you for every penny but when they realise your no mug their attitude changes. All I will say is shame on them but dont let this put you off. I dont hold back and they got what they deserve, no regrets. Nothing is cheap, dont be fooled, and you have to pay extra for convenience/comfort. Go with an open mind, enjoy it.

We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 adults a teen and an <12) the first two weeks of August 2019 and had a Super Duluxe with sea view. Checkin was efficient. Staff were polite as you would expect of a 5* resort. The hotel is on the side of a hill facing the sea. As such there is short but quite a steep walk up to the rooms further back up the hill...but there is a very regular quick shuttle that runs up and down almost every 3-5 minutes. There were only a couple of gripes during the stay. First was room size. We have a teen daughter and 10yo boy. The room was disappointing in terms for bed space. There was a king bed and what was essentially single sofa bed. We were kindly offered a room with two doubles but it just felt so cramped so we stayed with the king and single. Sea view was okay. Bathroom was a good size with separate shower and bathtub. Water flowed okay, but temperature took a bit of playing to settle it. There was the one other small frustration. We had to call for extra loo roll on 4-5 occasions and also bath towels. Maybe it’s because they use less toilet paper as they have bum guns in Thailand...but we didn’t really use these. Room service for these were really quick! All this aside. All other aspects were very positive. Staff were generally excellent. Polite and efficient. There are security guards which were very prominent through the entrance and drive of the resort. The sea view restaurant was very enjoyable. We had dinner here a couple of times and were pleased with the food. This was also the location for the breakfast. It is opened (no walls windows) 3 sides and has the sea view so doesn’t have air con, but there are ceiling fans which made it comfortable. Pleasant atmosphere of birds singing and flying in to pick on scraps. We ate breakfast between 0630 and 0830am and never had to queue. There was a good breakfast selection as you’d expect from a 5* in east Asia. Usual Sausage, bacon, eggs and omelette bar. Noodle bar, pastries and Asian cooked foods like stir fried rice/noodles and congee. Usual tropical fruits selection which varied daily. We also had room service a couple occasions and this was fine. One of the best things about this resort is the pool. Especially the waterfall pool that had a water slide for the children. We spent plenty of time poolside in between doing the tourist stuff. We generally always got 2-3 loungers here. The only time we had to wait for one was when we got there at around 1130am. But it wasn’t too long for some to become available. Usually a good number free up after lunch time. If you get there early - 9am-ish you’ll get the pick of the best spots. The pool was never over crowded and very relaxing. Poolside Food and drink service was efficient and meals were good (pizza, burgers, pad Thai) . Staff were great and perhaps polite to a fault. Felt sorry watching one of the staff try to reclaim the life bouy and life jackets that some kids had taken off the emergency lifesaving station . He was obviously cautious not to offend the parents (who could give too hoots) so just waited for the kids to come in distance to take the emergency lifesaving equipment back while the mothers sat around taking selfies. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing where people that have servants back where they come from are less respectful or appreciative of hotel staff. Kids also did a couple of activities - batik T-shirt painting and fell candle making which they really enjoyed...so these are worth it if there are any rainy days. Hotel is in walking distance of Seven 11 (out and right)or go left for a 5 minute walk to the start of Patong beach. Be aware though that pedestrian walk way are non - existent along some parts of road way so you are walking alongside flowing traffic. Security guard will help manage traffic to get you across the road out side the hotel though. Out the hotel resort and turn right down and past 7-11, 10 minute walk, there is a short stretch seaside that has some street food stalls each night. These are worth exploring and well within walking distance of the resort. Note: Spicy option will be very spicy!!! The hotel offers a shuttle device to one of the main malls. You need to reserve spaces, but it is a good option to have. A Tuk tuk cost us 200 bhat back to the hotel for the 4 of us from the mall that was the drop off point. Reasonable, and good fun so should be done. Would we come back? Yes, for a bigger room option. Staff 5/5 Pool facilities 5/5 Restaurant (dinner and breakfast 4/5 Room 3.5/5 (perfect for 2 to 3 people) Overall 4/5

first time in Thailand, our travel agent suggested this hotel and it didn't disappoint. the quite side of Patong which suited us brilliantly, still within walking distance to the many shops, bars and restaurants. we had a lovely room, had breakfast everyday in the main restaurant which had plenty of food to suit everyone. we also went to the gym and the other restaurants on site. We booked some snorkelling trips in the hotel, the hotel also had a free bus into the main shopping mall which was nice to see. we would stay again
