Checkin was completely stress free. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had two rooms with a family room in middle. One queen bed on one end and two singles on the other. We were traveling with our sons. The layout was perfect. Very good location in Patong. Wonderful food all around. Nice pool and very relaxing. We highly recommend massages. Wonderful experience.
“It’s A Great hotel overall , very near Jungceylon mall and also Bangla street and about 6 minutes from Patong beach. 7 eleven is very near by with other small eateries and restaurant. The reception staff are generally very friendly. It’s has 2 Swimming pool which is decent. The gym is quite run down though. My room is quite spacious. I can still hear some music from bars nearby in the middle of the night. The breakfast buffet is decent but not fantastic. Only issue I has is the wifi connection is really bad. I connected but has no internet connection. I end up using data from my SIM throughout my stay.
My usual to go hotel in Phuket is always one of a 4star hotel in Juncelyon and chance upon The Lantern Resorts as the 4star hotel room was way too pricey. Initially I was quite skeptical about the cleanness in this hotel but to our surpise, it was comparable. We arrived early (at around 11am) for check in, knowing that room aren't ready till 2pm hence we left our luggage with the concierge. As we have 2 expensive items, the manager has offered to help and keep it in his office - which was a huge relieve for us. Came back at 2pm but room wasnt ready yet till like 2.15pm. Hotel is closed to massage and spa centre, pushcart hawker (yummy mango sticky rice & crepe) walking distance to Juncelyon & Soi Bangla. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.
I stayed at the lantern for a week. The physical part of the hotel was fine for me, but the service was concerning. I arrived early in the morning and paid to check in early, which is supposed to come with a breakfast. The from desk attendant even wrote it on the card sleeve. But when I went to the restaurant just a few feet away, they looked confused...talked amongst themselves, made a phone call, conferred with each other again, then came and told me "no breakfast for you". I said, "Wait, I just paid for it, and the desk attendant wrote it on my card. "No breakfast for you". I go to the desk and tell them about it and show him the card. He takes the card and crossed off where he wrote "breakfast 2 pax" and handed it back. Confused and hungry, I walked away. During my week-long stay, I saw several irate guests in the lobby complaining about missing towels and poor service. When I went to check out, they held me at the desk while apparently they took a survey of the room. After long conferences with each other and several phone calls to housekeeping, the desk staff started to write down items on a piece of paper with a number (price) next to each. "Large towel-50 baht" "Small towel-20 baht" "One flip flop-10 baht" "You owe 80 baht". I refused to pay. The entire staff of the hotel ended up behind the desk . Now this amount of money is very small, but it is a principle issue for me. I eventually left, and came to this site to see other people reporting the same thing. Shame really. If I was the owner of the hotel I would be upset. Such a nice facilty, ruined by "nickel and dime" tricks like this. I was planning to return next week and stay for another week, but I don't want to submit myself to the frustration. I hope the owners read this and talk to the staff. It is perhaps just a customer service training issue.…
Very good location but its just too noisy. The nearby bar played music till very late. To make things even worse, my neighbour is playing very loud music in the room till late too... lastly the wall and door seems non existence when someone talking loudly or when someone closing their door. In Short, noisy noisy noisy and will never stay there again.
