What do you generally look for in a guest house ? Let me tell you what I think about before I book a room. 1. It must b clean. 2. It must be easily accessible. 3. It must be near to the main market. 4. It must be modern looking unless the place has a theme. Believe me or not this place has everything. On top of it, the staff is really friendly and helpful, they can also help you in booking the tours, taxi and a ferry. I had an amazing time, staying at this place :) Thank you for the great hospitality.
Our stay was made memorable by Dev and his family. They were super helpful and provided recommendations for local visits in Patong. The room is spacious and good, however, the bathroom is slightly small. This stay is located at walking distance from Bangla Road, Jungceylon mall and Patong beach. Dev was gracious to offer us a late checkout as well. There is an indian madras cafe very close to the stay. Overall value for money stay at Patong. Areas of improvement: Lighting in the room is not that great and can be improved. Pls provide a kettle or provision for tea/coffee in the room itself
I stayed here for three nights as a solo traveler in mid January 2019. I give this place three stars, because while I would stay here again, I’d certainly consider other options. Positives Service: Owner is a helpful guy who speaks very good English. I really like the fact that while he’s on premises, he’s not right at the door monitoring the comings and goings. I’ve stayed at some places where the owner is Always. Right. There. Asking. How. Things. Are. Going. TBH, I hate that. I like to come in go in peace and not have to keep reassuring that everything is fine and that I don’t need anything. Location: In the thick of Patong, just a few minutes walk to Bangla road, the beach, and more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Hot water: Works just fine, no complaints A/c (aircon): Works just fine, no complaints Rooms are clean Negatives Facilities: On the whole, quite basic. Noise: Ok, this place is situated a few meters down a Soi (side street in Thai) so I didn’t get any street noise. However, I caught a lot of hallway traffic, and I could hear the door opening and closing every time somebody came and went. Safety box: Key didn’t work well, the lock on the box was loose. Bedding: Probably my biggest complaint. The bed was LUMPY. i could feel the springs. Also, this was a “king” bed comprised of two doubles pushed together. Normally this doesn’t bother me, but in this case, the frame was a bit high so the middle part was not comfortable to lay across. Also, the sheets are rather thin. This might be my personal preference, but I grew up in a cold climate, so I’m used to sleeping with heavier sheets or blankets, even if I’m running the air con. If the bedding was improved, the safety box is fixed, and the front door was adjusted to be more quieter, I’d give this place four stars. The facilities are just too basic and the hallways to noisy to justify a five star rating.…
This place seems to have all the right stuff. It is quite reasonably priced at 20 US$/night. It’s biggest selling point to me was it’s location. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach, a 10-minute walk to Patong Hospital, 5-minutes to Bangla Road where all the action is, and 10-minutes from Jungceylon Shopping center, which has the only full sized grocery store in Patong. The room was cleaned daily, and came with free bottles of water each day. Always had hot water and cold AC when I needed it. I’ll be back in Patong next year, and this is the only place I’ll be willing to stay at. The owners/staff speak good English and are very helpful. They checked with me from time to time to make sure everything was ok. And they can help with excursions, taxi rides to/from the airport, even ordering a pizza. I’m giving them two thumbs up and a “yes-I’d-definitely-stay-here-again” on the acid test of whether or not I’d stay there again.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at star guesthouse. Great location, but no noise at all! The rooms were one of the cleanest we stayed in the whole time we spent in Thailand. The guys spoke good English and there were clear instructions by the door informing you what to do if you couldn't get inside the guesthouse or if you were to lose your key.
