The setting is superb, cottage are surrounded by forest and rice fields. Still rooms have all comfort and the hotel has a nice swimming pool. Service is good, staff are very friendly. You can walk out of the hotel into the national park. Mae Hong Soon is a quiet town with very few tourist compared to other places in Thailand... More

Mu husband and I found this place by chance and it was exactly what we needed. After busy cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai, this was a peaceful and quite garden! The staff is wonderful and really helpful, they are people who grew up in the region and know it well. Fern is a beautiful natural place and the path... More

The nature and landscape is really beautiful... We had lovely size bungalow next the rice fields and the small stream. Very simple peaceful and quiet. No internet no TV but we love the time there. Staffs were friendly...breaking was basic but enough... The only comment I have is the smell in the bathroom.

This hotel (resort) was choosen by our travel agency, but it was a very good choice. Beautiful big room in the nature with friendly staff. The staff sold handmade articles. They are making these articles when nobody at their counters or in cafe or restaurant. Beatiful and cheap articles. Furthermore I wrote a separate review about the restaurant.

We chose this resort because the pictures showed it was set in a quiet rural area with lush green surroundings . When I arrived it was so much more than I had hoped for. Desent sized rooms, good service, good food and amazing views over the rice paddies when the sun goes down. The fresh rice smell coming from the... More

Fern's in a small wooded valley south of town on the road up to a national park. The location facing the sunset across the rice fields and the Mae Hong Son valley is wonderful - there's a bar where you can relax with a cocktail and enjoy the view. For the more active there's a pool and a great nature... More

This wonderful resort is located in a very big lush garden, away from all noise (you will hear birds though) or traffic, about 15 minutes out of town. We had a private and spacious bungalow with terrace, surrounded by greenery and tropical trees. Breakfast in the open spaced central patio was a bit disappointing, no cereals, no fresh juices. Swimming... More

I stayed here for one night as part of a motorcycle tour of northern Thailand. I enjoyed my brief stay in this eco-friendly hotel with its nice bungalows. The bungalows look rustic from the outside but are very comfortable inside. My room also had an an adjoining covered sitting area, but I didn't get to use it. The hotel arranged... More

What a lovely place! Delicious food in the restaurant, lovely large rooms and beautifully designed property offering a lot of privacy. And a handful of dogs to greet me and keep me company around the bonfire! Plus it's outside of town and nice and quiet and has a lovely walking path. What more could one want.

Wooden bungalows surrounding a swimming pool with an open-fronted restaurant on the other side. Rooms were charming, clean and comfortable. Good food. Relaxing atmosphere - great after a day on the road, and would happily chill out here for a few days next time. Set in the countryside a few kilometres outside of Mae Hong Son.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Seven (7) km out of the town of Mae Hong Son , Fern Resort is nestled in a small valley. Surrounded by forest-covered mountains and rice paddies, it offers comfortable accommodation in unspoiled, yet soothing nature. A small creek and a well maintained ground with rich fauna and flora make this eco-tourism resort the perfect place to stay for nature lovers. We would like our resort to be the forest home for the naturalist who is looking for a peaceful place. You will not find telephones or TVs in your room, but instead you can enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature. ... more   less
