We booked this place through Troy at SUP Hire Thailand because Royal River Kwai Resort & Spa is their partner hotel. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The rooms were comfortable except the beds are on the hard side. We had a good breakfast buffet on the weekend, but the weekday morning breakfasts were off a limited a la carte menu. This is understandable because there worry so few guests staying here. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend booking this resort through SUP Hire Thailand. (We also booked cycling and SUP activities with SUP Hire).

From the entrance, this resort seems small and old, but once you stepped out from check-in hall, you would find big lawns and shade trees. The room is spacious, with balcony overlooking the river. The bathroom seems newly renovated.

This is a well-maintained, established hotel in Kanchanaburi. I highly recommend the Junior Suite for its size, or if you have a larger group they have houses with kitchens for rent as well. The hotel is located on a lovely spot on the river and I imagine it’s a very tranquil place to visit when it’s not a long Thai holiday weekend. The grounds are manicured and my son loved running around in the grass. The food was good and not horribly expensive. The pool is one of the best features of the hotel although it lacked shade. My only complaints were the shower and the bed. While the bathroom was immaculate, the showerhead probably hadn’t been changed or cleaned and mineral deposits made the water stream spotty. The bed was incredibly hard. Overall, it was a lovely short stay and I could see visiting again and renting one of the available houses.

We stayed there for 2 nights in the junior suite. Quiet spacious, SUPER clean and very nice view over the river. Very great overall experience! I don’t know if it’s mainly due to the actual situation but the whole resort is amazingly clean! Rooms, public areas, pool, gardens! Approximately 15 minutes away from town I just came to know at the check out that they offer free shuttle to town every day. Better to stay there with your own transportation and kids are welcome regarding the size of the pool.

This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the River Kwai. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable (my only criticism is the showers, which were really weak) and the environment really pretty and well maintained. Lots of lovely plants and flowers and well manicured lawns. The pool is excellent for playing and swimming in and has plenty of sunbeds for a good lounge about. My friend said the spa was very good too but I didn't partake. The restaurant overlooking the river is a lovely place to eat, and the service is friendly, but a little slow - many of the group were finishing their meal before others started. This may be because we were a big group of 9 but it was a little frustrating. Otherwise, service was good from booking onwards and it was a lovely place to stay.
