I stayed as part of a couple on Feb 2023, and booked via booking.com. We had a garden lodge as per the pictures, the outside of the room looked a little run down, however the inside was clean and relatively modern. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were excellent with the room being cleaned daily. The only small downside was the shower which was not very powerful. The air condition in the room was the strongest I have ever experienced, had to turn it up! We had breakfast included, which was right in the beach as per the picture, whisky fairly basic was cooked fresh and tasty with an excellent view. Location was good, with access to various tourist locations and TukTuks close at hand. For a cheaper and more convenient way to travel I would recommend you set up the grab app, similar to Uber. Overall a loverly place to stay and would recommend.…
My family and I have been to Thailand many times, staying in 5 Star hotels which were by the beach or on the beach with various experiences. If you are from the UK or Europe you quickly discover Thailand is a place of contrasts. 2022 was our 20 year wedding anniversary and in October my wifes birthday so we decided to go back to Thailand again just as a couple. We decided we would trade the luxury of a 5 star hotel for somewhere more flexible and after months of searching for affordable beach front places to stay we found this tropical gem. We arrived absolutely exhaust after an 11 hour flight to Bangkok then a 3 1/2 hours taxi ride to Hua Hin. We arrived well ahead of check in which is 2pm but was met by a lovely lady at reception with a welcoming smile. My wife was so exhausted that we asked to rent a room for a few hours until ours was ready, The lady spoke very good english and said she would arrange it and the charge was 1950 bht (about £46) then she saw how tired my wife was and told us to wait whilst she went into the office to return to say they can have a room ready in 10mins for 500 bht (about £11) we were amazed at how helpful she was and this was a behaviour of all the staff we meet. Just so you are aware Tripadvisor has two listing for this hotel. "The Veranda Lodge" and "Veranda Lodge" possibly due to the building being split into two types. There is a two storey hotel block which the temporary room was located. The rooms were in need of a little cosmetic refresh but this is to be expected after the economic battering the Thai hospitality sector had taken during COVID lockdown but the rooms were clean neat and had a great view on the balcony of a big pool. The beds are a bit on the firm side though. At 2pm we went to reception as arranged to be taken to our Lodge/Hut. From the reception we walked through a tropical courtyard with huts on stilts in a rough circle passing this we walked another 20 metres under the hotel block towards the beach where our little Thai hut stood. We were shown inside and I was really please to find an interior which was clean, with the essentials and a huge bed with clean linen and towels. Comparable to the suite style we rented at the Movenpick Siam Hotel in April 2022. The bedding, interior towels and beach towels were changed every day. They also supplied bathrobes, indoor slippers and flip flops which we were allowed to keep if we wish. We had set an itinerary of things to do over the next ten days but this quickly went out the window. Not due to the spectacular Thunderstorms that happened in the first two days of being there but because we discovered that we didn't need to go anywhere else. We were literally on the soft white beach. There was hardly a pebble or shell to step on and those shells we saw were inhabited by hermit crabs. In fact the beach and sea was a hive of life. Thousands of small crabs would join us on a morning stroll along the 7km beach. We even saw a horseshoe crab! Each morning on our terrace we would watch the sun rise and the Buddhist monks walk from the Khao Takiab Temple along the beach. The sand was warm but never scorching. When we were not in the hot sea, and I mean hot as a bath! with the small shoals of juvenile fish swimming around us we were on a jetski. This was not included with the lodge but we did have kayaks, sun loungers, another smaller pool and breakfast included. There is a fantastic seafront restaurant that serves really great food and cocktails. This is also where you go for breakfast and a small coffee shop which everyone in the local area comes to as the coffee is so good. On the beach you can also learn to Kiteboard and ride a pony along the beach. I could go on and on but the Veranda Lodge was exactly as I had hoped. It's not swanky or stuck up but a little gem hidden between the big corporate hotels like the Hilton and Marriot. It is also close to Shopping Malls, Night Markets, and every type of restaurant you could wish for. Transport links and Tuk Tuks are everyway. We had a great time. Thank you all at Veranda Lodge the little family 3 star hotel with a 5 star experience and heart.…
I was very impressed with the hotel because it was a beachfront hotel that was perfect for relaxing and heating yourself. At night, you can hear the waves of the sea lightly. The wind blows softly, providing cold knowledge, clearing the mind. In the morning, the sun rises very well plus the cool air refreshes.
Nice room to some extent The view in front of the room that opens to see the sea And there are big trees to provide shade Able to sip wine perfectly. Quiet, very private The pool is a bit small. Delicious Thai food European food does not matter.
This is an old hotel at an OK location. Avoid the restaurant as the food is stale, you don’t get what you exactly ordered, and the waitress forgot to put in one of the orders. —- An absolute train wreck.
It had a great location right on the Hua Hin Beach, but the hotel was older than the photos on-line showed us when we booked it. Good service and the free breakfast was delicious but I was very disappointed with the room quality.
I really enjoy staying at the hotel. The room is clean and neat. The view from Sea View room is very very nice. The service and food are also very good. I want to go back to this place again very soon. I have suggested this place to my friends.
We went there for 11 nights and finally we left after the first night ! This hotel is so dirty and absolutely not well maintained for several weeks/ months. Even the breakfast was awful (old green salad and frozen sausage). The staff was not really friendly and helpful and they gave us an ugly dirty room with an horrible view (pictures attached). More than many words feel free to have a look on the photos.
My son and I stayed for three weeks in February 2018 and loved it. Excellent staff 24 hours. Werry appreciated as I travel alone with a child. We are so excited to come back this year. Wonderful beach with sunbeds for the guest and a God breakfast🍳🥓🥚🍞. Rooms clean and nice and excellent service. Best regards May-Liz Lauritzen and Aaron😀
This hotel is something different. There is no lobby. The reception is like a desk in the hole of the wall and it is outside. Air conditioning is not needed because fresh wind comes from the sea. If you are looking for luxury hotel, this is not your choice. It this is cozy genuine clean hotel and it feels like jungle by the sea. The restaurant is by the sea and fresh wind wipes the heat away. Food is good and personnel are friendly. My favorite hotel in Hua Hin. City center and Village Market shopping mall are in walking distance.
