Traveling to Hua Hin in October It might be better in my opinion because the weather is not too hot. You will be enjoy on the beach rather than raining or summer. Most of people like to go for beach destination in summer time but for me it's around October - November and December - January it's better to go to North or Northeast of Thailand.
In Hun Hin, there have many resorts with private pool villa, you can search from Online Travel Agent websites. AKA resort or AKA Guti also good choice for you whatever as a couple, family or friends more than 2. The location of villa with private pool, many of them aren't located on the beach, if you are ok to pay more than 10K baht then go for it but if you are not mind about the location then you will find save more money for other expenses. I recommend you to rent the car if you can drive and have a license, in case you stay out of town then you will be able to go out at night, you can't miss night markets and find seafood for dinner.
