Bambuh Boutique Homestay is an accommodation to which I will definitely return. Ya and Mark have created the most amazing retreat, located only 10 km. north of Chiang Rai. The rooms are built of Teak wood, in the traditional northern Thai wooden architectural style, and surrounded by lush jungle landscaping. Beyond the palms and tall trees are glimpses of green-gold rice fields and pineapple plantations. I sat on my terrace at dawn every morning, serenaded by hundreds of birds perched in the surrounding trees. Inside, the rooms are outfitted with all the modern conveniences and some special touches, like bathroom walls made of smooth round rocks that Mark and Ya hauled from the Mekong River. This is a very special place and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to get away from it all for a few days. But never fear, if you still need to stay connected to the world, they offer rocket-fast wifi in the rooms.

We stayed in this accommodation, loft apartment with balcony, two nights. The hotel environment, the garden was lovingly cared by the couple who built the facility. For questions of any kind, the two are available at any time. We felt completely at ease.
Garden: in the garden you can go for a walk, thanks to all the self-planted trees and shrubs you are well protected from the sun. The adjacent stream also cools the air and with open windows, fly screens (no mosquitoes 🦟🚫) have been on each window, you can sleep very well even without air conditioning. The special thing, the sounds of nature. Who loves nature will feel very comfortable here.
Location: Bambuh Hotel is located just outside Chiang Rai. With the Grab App you are in good hands. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the city.
Mobility: you can rent bikes with a lock on site. There is a super nice bike path to a waterfall and further to a place with rice terraces. Duration easy way about 1 hour 30 minutes. In addition, you can rent a scooter or have a car come with the help of the Grab app.
Accommodation: we were in the loft room with balcony. Super nice facilities. Everything made of wood and with attention to detail. The bathroom is very nice and in the same natural beautiful style as the rest of the accommodation. The large balcony doors give a super view of pure greenery and the distant rice terraces. From the balcony as well as from the bed you can enjoy a true nature concert when it gets dark. Also in the morning from 06:00 o'clock, when the sun rises, bird songs sound everywhere. Super idyllic. There is a air conditioning and ventilator.
Supply: in the room there is water for free and a minibar around refrigerator. Breakfast can be ordered from the hosts and enjoyed in the beautiful gazebo. Dinner between 18:00-19:30 you can also order until 15 o'clock and be pampered culinary.
We are fully satisfied and happy to have stayed at such a beautiful Paradise. Does times really good to switch off if you were before, for example, in the noisy Bangkok.

A remote location for those who need to disconnect. However everything else is accessible by Grab so I did get some visits done along the way. A very nice setting. The owners are very welcoming. Breakfast is cooked to order every morning (delicious) and a home cooked meal every evening (also succulent). I would recommend to anyone in need of a breather.

Staying at Bambuh was an amazing experience. From the friendly owners and staff, to the delicious theme and food which is available every morning, it’s clear that it’s their focus to make sure you have a wonderful stay. The rooms are large and comfortable with some of the most unique bathrooms I have ever seen!

I cannot imagine a more beautiful place to stay. The surroundings are idyllic and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had the opportunity to eat a fresh made breakfast from the hosts’ menu and then decided to request a dinner to be made for our party that evening. The northern Thailand pork dish Kallaya made was phenomenal, Mark and Kallaya made our group’s last dinner so special.
A heartfelt thanks to Mark, and especially Kallaya, for helping me get to a hospital when I injured myself. They made sure I was safe and cared for , Kallaya was my helpful translator, and Kallaya got me to and from the hospital. I would never have expected such kindness but that is the way of the hosts. Bambuh Boutique Homestay is exactly that, a home that you care about with people who care about your wellbeing and our planet .

Forget your run of the mill chain hotels even though they do have a place sometimes. This was exactly what we were after - a relaxing few days after manic Bangkok.
Mark and Kallaya are lovely people and the set-up here is very "back to nature" without roughing it in a tent!
We stayed in one of the traditional wooden houses and it was fantastic. No traffic noise. Wildlife all around you. Gorgeous soundtrack while watching the sunset.
If you're considering Bambuh but are worried about the remoteness Grab taxis are very easy to arrange and use for a cheap ride into town as and when required.
Get your stay booked while you can. You know what I mean Mark! Best wishes for the future whatever it holds for you both!

…great, great place and wonderful hosts. The Resort ist modern, stylish, comfy and close to nature. Just look at the pictures - all true. Even better are the hosts: They cook for you, arrange trips, prepare breakfast and make you feel sooo welcome. Too bad we only had two days… this place is definitely worth more!

Highly recommended for solo, couple or a family trip. Stayed for 3 nights and every single night was worth while. Surrounded by nature and a tiny water stream by the breakfast / reception area. Excellent homemade roasted coffee and service was homely and immaculate.
The owners, Mark and Ya are filled with local knowledge, guidance and were more than helpful. I can’t go without mentioning Tess - the cute dog in the resort waiting to greet visitors since their first day.
10/10. Will be back!

Our stay at Bambuh Hostel was unforgettable! The houses are unique and lovingly designed. We had a large veranda which offered a wonderful view of the rainforest-like surroundings. You can listen to the birds in the hammock and relax wonderfully. The breakfast menu is small but for us an ideal mix of local dishes and some well-known menus. The owners are very sociable and told us a lot about the area. We were completely satisfied. Thank you very much.

An amazing laid back relaxed oasis 15 mins from downtown Chaing Rai. The hosts Mark and Kaya have clearly put a lot of love care in developing this place. From the moment you arrive you feel like you are somewhere special. The breakfast was delicious taken el freso under the gazebo. Kaya the host arranged a fabulous full days tour with a local driver. We loved the two days at Bambuh. We will be back (Ash & Anna)

Bambuh is only a 10 minute drive from the airport. It is easy to take a taxi from there. The standard fare is THB 200. You can also use the Grab taxi app.
We have free parking at our place. You can rent a car at the airport or we could inform for you with one of our contacts. They can deliver and collect the car at our place if the rental period is two days or more.
Our green oasis is located at the outskirts of Chiang Rai. We are at walking distance from the famous Black House museum and surrounded by rice fields and mountains yet downtown Chiang Rai is only a mere 10 km away. There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops nearby and the vibrant university area is only 2 km.
