Stayed 3 night here and had a good nights sleep in the comfortable spacious rooms. It was very clean and the rooms are surrounded by landscaped gardens. The breakfast was very good, and the one evening meal I had was also very good, with plenty of choice. There is a pool with ample sunbeds. All in all it was an enjoyable stay, with places to eat and drink quite close by.
Nice size room and comfortable bed but lacking a bit on storage space. The grounds are really pretty and there is a very good size pool. Breakfast was good but the dinner in the restaurant in the evening we felt was overpriced - evidenced by the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant! Pleasant stay overall.
Quite a nice hotel with recently renovated rooms Gardens are lovely Didn’t have time to look at the pool Breakfast just ok Rooms very lacking in suitcase storage so had to place them on the floor !!!!! Safe ok if you are 7foot tall No laundry service Could do better
We stayed here two nights. Hotel is very good and a short tucktuck ride from the river. Fine breakfast in the am. Rooms are comfortable and the prices are very reasonable. Checkin was easy and the rooms comfortable. Beds are a bit firm.
First, our positive reactions to this hotel, where we stayed for a week in January with some of our family from Australia. The villas are set in beautiful grounds, where a great deal of thought has gone into lovely planting, which is all well tended and a joy to see. We experienced no noise from passing traffic as the hotel is on the edge of Chiang Rai (songthaews generally available for a quick and cheap run to the town centre, or to such sights as the Blue Temple, White Temple, etc). There is a fairly large pool in the grounds, though water is fairly cold (this is something which cannot be helped in north Thailand, due to the cool nights). Our room was spacious, and kept well cleaned. Lighting for make up and shaving was good. Ample hot water in the shower, and a good-sized bathroom. Comfortable bed. Large-screen TV. At breakfast the eggs and fruit were good. Unfortunately, there were quite a few negatives ... When not visiting the town centre or various temples, etc., nearby, we spent most of our time round the pool. The loungers were extremely uncomfortable, especially for anyone with a bad back, and had no padded mattresses. In addition, there were not enough thick towels. The pool was not cleared of used towels, used glasses, etc., often enough, and no supplies of fresh towels were brought. The room lacked enough storage space, and hangers, to hang clothes for more than a very brief stay. I find it incredibly annoying having to live out of a suitcase when staying in a place for a week. Being English speakers, we had hoped for more TV channels than just CNN. Sometimes we had to ask for toilet paper, tissues, etc., to be replaced by housekeeping. A few times the rooms were not cleaned until the afternoon. The breakfast voucher system is outdated and tedious - there was no plain yogurt at breakfast - only the sweetened yogurt, which does not have the same health benefits. We weren't happy about having to pay THB 500 as a deposit for a room card - completely unnecessary - it's not as though a traditional key has to be replaced in the case of loss! No notice is given when heavy fumigation of the grounds take place. It's a matter of courtesy to inform guests about this by leaving a printed flyer in the room before the event. The hotel has no laundry service at all! Having travelled in Thailand for the last 30 or 40 years, this is the very first time we have experienced a hotel of this standard without a laundry! There is a "laundry" over the road, but we like our garments to be washed and pressed by the hotel itself. We love Thailand, but noticed that - as at so many Thai hotels these days - there was absolutely no sign of any management, and that staff were consequently lacking in both motivation and interpersonal skills.…
