Detailed Reviews
Spent a couple of weeks here this month.Very nice spacious and quiet sea view room on the 10th floor.Excellent staff throughout the hotel. First class and extensive buffet breakfast covering both Western and Far Eastern tastes. Chefs catered for all individual needs with 5 types of cooked eggs to order. Small well equipped gym which I used frequently. Pool areas impressive but the hotel does have a major problem in these areas with feral pigeons who do what pigeons do - poo everywhere! Shame really because it spoilt an otherwise excellent stay.

The Chinese Restaurant Fu Lue Woman Manager- Som for no apparent reason has been very unprofessionally rude, repugnant and impertinent to me! Not once but every visit of mine is met with such obnoxious attitude. She would tell me that they are very busy and the food would take more than an hour and a half to serve even though the restaurant is not even half full! Whatever I order from the menu she would tell me it’s finished including desserts but then I see others ordering it and it’s being served to them. Also, I have not finished my order she would pretend to assume I have finished ordering and walked away! She would pursed her lips, give me a contemptuous glare and make a “tsk” sound with her tongue when I continued ordering!
No one can fathom what kind of service staff would be so vicious and vile in service like Som! She’s a total disgrace to both the hospitality and service industry! Definitely NOT an asset but a TOTAL LIABILITY to the organisation that chose to hire her. One rotten egg spoils the entire basket!
I don’t recommend this Chinese Restaurant.

When we booked this hotel we were aware the hotel was brand new and the grand opening was not taking place until October however it was still listed on various booking sites advertising rooms. The hotel is pretty big with over 200 rooms and it turnout we were the only people in the whole place, it was quite strange. There weren’t any restaurants, bars or shops near the hotel and the beach out the front was really dirty. The staff did not speak any English which made it really difficult, it took about 40min just to get them to order us a taxi and then they charged us an exorbitant amount just to around the corner. We were supposed to be booked in for two nights but after the first night we couldn’t wait to get out of there. We checked out with lots of confusion as once again they could not understand us and they refused to refund us our money, it was very frustraiting. We headed south to Hua Hin which was fantastic and has some really lovely resorts. I think this hotel is geared for Thai people and I definitely would not recommend it, the price is very expensive too, it was definitely not value for money.

I spent a weekend nice in a Residence room. The hotel property itself is very nice with a very tropical feel, lush plantings, fountains around the pool, etc., which lends it a very "resort" feel and is great for relaxing and just lounging around the pool. There are actually 3 pools in total, although it appears the hotel tries to block off access to the Residences pool if you are not staying in a Residence room. Breakfast is excellent, selection is vast and quality of ingredients is high. Fit and finish in the rooms is of good quality and the residence rooms have a very nice standalone tub. Residence rooms also feature sitting area with windows overlooking the pool and a sliding door that gives you direct access. Note that the residence pool is 1.5m deep but has a "shelf" in the center which is only approx .4m deep and there is also a children's pool area. Other pools are also 1.5m deep with child areas. Property is in a quiet location with access to the beach across a lightly travelled road.
Cons: As others have said, the resort is definitely maze-like. We were not able to access the other pools directly, but had to pass through the lobby. 300 baht daily fee for internet access. Per person tuk tuk charge to go to the bus station (resort should provide this at no charge considering the location). Restaurants are pricey, but this is too be expected so no big surprise. Staff, while friendly, came off as somewhat aloof and indifferent. I did not get a warm vibe from the staff except for the breakfast staff which were very helpful and accommodating.
All in all, a very nice property to get away to a quiet location for rest and relaxation in a very resort-like atmosphere.

We spent 5 nights in April at the resort as a family of 2 adults and 2 young children in interconnecting rooms in the Tower section of the hotel. This hotel is regularly the ' secret Hotel' deal on Wotif.com where I worked out by process of elimination the amenities that were available when I filtered for hotels in Cha-am with kids clubs. This gave me 2 rooms at 1999 baht each er night, when the rack rate was 8495 baht each per night. Bargain..but no breakfast included.
Anyway....we chose the hotel for a few reasons.
1) it was away from crowds of Westerner tourists...and we wanted our kids to meet Thai kids....which they did and got some pen pals.
2) it had a kids club and 3 pools.
3) the rooms were huge and clean.
Upon arrival...we were given a cold welcoming drink, and check in was fast and efficient, but there is really only one desk staff who speaks good English..a Swiss Thai man. Our rooms were interconnecting ( as requested) and were lovely. Having got an online deal though, our rooms didn't have sea views, but a rather ordinary view of the rear scrubland behind the hotel. Rooms came with bathrobes, slippers and usual toiletries and free bottled water. The balcony also ad a little clothes line which was great for drying our laundry.
Breakfast is a set buffet, you cannot do a la carte, and it is quite pricy compared to local restaurants. We mostly had breakfast in the hotel, but if price is an issue,it is cheaper to order room service ( this also applies to dinner at night). The staff is the restaurant we lovely to our children - particularly as our kids tried to use Thai greetings which were appreciated.
The 3 pools are lovely and so were the pool attendants, who got my kids some play equipment, but the lower pool close to the each, is only accessible via exiting the main hotel and walking outside. A bit bizarre but really not a problem if you come and go via the car park lift directly upto your room so you don't drip water through the main foyer!. The pools are also Eco friendly and aren't chlorinated or salted..but rather ozonated which means you don't get that awful smell on your clothes.
Kids club......was not so good. A small room for toddlers with basic equipment and it s Not supervised by staff. In the foyer of the hotel there was a Tv screen advertising fabric and plaster painting ( at a cost) yet the Reception staff ha no idea about it and suggested we go to the Recreation room at the set time. We did, but no staff showed up. Very disorganized if you had the use of a kids club in mind to give you and your partner a break from the kids...this is not he place fr that...try somewhere else in Hua hin.
Havng read on tripadvisor that it was cheaper to get a local minibus from Cha-am to Hua hin we used the Tuk tuk service into Cha-Am (100 baht pp), to the bus stop, then 80 for all of us to Hua-hin with a load of locals who spoke no English. We had first tried to use the shuttle service, but you need to book 2 hours in advance and the times were not suitable for people with young kids. Anyway, getting to Hua- hin wa no problem, but getting back to the hotel on a Saturday night when Hua hin was rocking was not. None of the local shuttle services would return to Cha-am as there was too much in town business going. We finally had to pay the exhorbitant sum of 600 baht to get back.
The village of Cha-am is charming with rows of brightly colored terrace like dwellings and the beach front is saturated with deck chairs. The beach itself is very ordinary and not white and pristine by any means and on weekends hoards of Thais fom Bangkok descend for all day bech play so it is quite hectic. It didn't bother us...we still hired bikes along the walk from the hotel to the village ( 60 baht for 2 bikes for an hour). There are plenty of street stalls and small family run eateries.
He best fun if the whole trip was spending a day tour ( expensive 7000 baht for4) with the hotel tour guide Steve and his driver Mr Wat. We went to a pineapple plantation where a rare variety is grown that can be peeled by hand and has no woody core. Stunning fruit. We bought 5 kgs! We te went onto Pu-u-Lau waterfall and swam with the carp in the falls pools. Lunch was at a hilltop restaurant where the food was stunning and a tropical thunderstorm rolled in. Magic.
Overall our stay was lovely and our family enjoyed it. Phuket its not....but that's why we chose it!! And we would go again.:)

The hotel located in Cha-am south beach front, which is more quite than north beach front. The left side as well as the right side of the hotel and nearly undeveloped land which has plenty of greenery trees. The hotel is facing the ocean, imagine you standing on the balcony of the sea view room, in front of you is a 180 degree ocean view, the left and right side are surrounded by trees, how wonderful is such a picture. In the morning, the sun rise in front of you from the horizon, in the night the surrounding is dark and you see many stars in the sky. In the whole day you can hear soothing sound from the ocean, you can also enjoy watching birds flying in the sky. The quiet beach is just cross a quiet road in beach exit of the hotel. The view on the beach is lovely too! The hotel is a little bit isolated, the restaurant inside the hotel is expensive, but here is my tips. Walk out of the beach front exit, turn left and only walk for 3-5 minutes, there is a minimart and 3 small restaurants. I dined in one of the restaurant named TIEW SON (shopkeeper said that it means by the trees). The restaurant was run by a young couple with their 8-year-old daughter helping out. They offer Thai food as well as western food, I dined there for consecutive 3 nights, the food quality was good, so does the price. Fried rice only cost 40 Baht. The couple was very friendly, they offered me free fruit every night, the 2nd night they offered me free fried rice for my children and 3rd night offered me free spring roll! After a little chatting, they even gave me free fruit to take back to hotel. What a warm hospitality! I enjoyed eating there very much. In the daytime you could enjoy the beach view while eating. Note that only the sea view room has the great view, the pool side Residence have very narrow sea view as they were not facing the beach. My stay in this hotel is very pleasant, I felt that I was close to the nature and was comfortable.

This was the last hotel stop for 3 nights having been in 5 others on a "One Traveller" tour (excellent company) of Bangkok 14 days, and N Thailand. The best of the bunch super, quiet hotel wth delightful pool road. Rooms and hotel finishes exceptional complete with small balcony.difficult to fault but lots of steps and limited access on some levels i.e. Pool via lift. Music in bar good but a little loud when trying to converse , nothing new there though. Up far end of Cha Am 10 mins drive from fishing but for colour and vibrancy is a must to visit. Prolific amount of bars but not quite in walking distance. We grouped a taxi and it was fine 300 B each way.
Would love to return. Don't miss a Thai massage on the beach perimeter under the trees, bliss or what.

It 22 km from city center.. but nice n remote beach accessible.. good resturant n bar in hotel.. 900 bath to n from hotel to huahin night markets. But 12 mins away from few attractions. We stayed garden view ....5th to 14th floor is beach view . Good place clean n friendly staff.

I always negotiate with a taxi driver. You can get for for between 1,500 and 2,000 baht. Be sure to ask him to pick you up and take you back. Alternatively there is a minibus service. Not used for a few years but last time was 150 baht to bkk
