Great location away from the City. Units are well equiped, clean and well maintained. 24 hour security, cleaner service every two days. Michael and Tuk are most helpful in meeting one's needs. Hotel restaurants in walking distance. Great pool!

Highly recommend for family or couples.

I have written several reviews of Blue Lagoon and this time it was as lovely as ever. The pool is its crowning glory. Booked a villa through Michael at Blue Lagoon Properties Resort (there are several sites and I can assure you that his service is the best, they are not all the same). It is a great base from which to explore the surroundings and not the least, restaurants of Hua Hin. I have listed my TOP FOUR RESTAURANTS. A personal opinion of course but I've tried many and returned to many. This time the top restaurant I visited was :

1. Itsara Restaurant. The majority of patrons are Thai and it is popular even when others are quieter in the off season. Good Thai menu, good service. booking essential 7 Naeb-Kehat Rd. 032 530 574 try for a table on the waterfront.

2. Oceanside Beach Club & Restaurant. 22/65 Naeb Kehat Rd. 032 531 470. Stick to the Thai menu. Nice wine by the glass but make sure the bottle has recently been opened.Start the evening with a glass of bubbles and chicken satay sticks.

3. Chomtalay Beach Restaurant. 1341/10 Phetkasem Rd. Really nice Thai food. Try the steamed snapper with lemon sauce with a side of stir fried vegs and steamed rice.

4. Coco 51 At the beach end of Soi 51. Book and ask for a table by the sea.
032 515 597. Delicious delicate curries. Consistently good.

Of course there are so many restaurants to choose from, but I haven't been disappointed by any of the above during my visits over 7 year period.

Oh yes, a couple of Special Mentions:
The relatively new TEA HOUSE in the FN Outlet directly opposite the entrance to Blue Lagoon. Located at the back of the outlet in a beautifully decorated tearoom. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and luscious cakes. Couldn't stay away! Very nice staff.

OB-OON BOULANGERIE-PATISSERIE is opposite Oceanside Restaurant: delicious cakes, try the elcairs. The more recently added restaurant upstairs is bright and airy for lunch, or just coffee and cake. Staff friendly and professional.

We moved here from another condominium that we had booked in Hua Hin. Jeffery was very helpful in organising our stay, and was there to welcome us on arrival. The apartment was lovely and spotless and had everything that we needed for our family of five. The security and maintenance of the property was excellent (unlike where we had moved from). The security guys were very friendly and efficient and were also happy to arrange taxis for us to go out for meals in the evening. There was a lovely cafe just on the main road on the right if you fancied some good cheap Thai food too, and the 7-11 is only 5 mins away.
This move was at an added cost to ourselves and Jeffery wavered some of the fees out of generosity which was much much appreciated. He also has said that if we were to go back to Hua Hin we could stay for a week for free due to some noise during our from a nearby on-going construction. (See you Christmas week Jeffery, ha ha??).
The separate walk-way down to the beach was nice as it meant that you didn't have to go through the Sheraton to get there. The pool was absolutely fabulous and very clean. If we were to come back to Hua Hin I would definitely be taking Jeffery up on his offer, and I would not hesitate to recommend staying in the Blue Lagoon Resort. Hope your arm is better soon Jeffery, Thank you for our stay.

Blue Lagoon Beach Resort at Hua Hin is a scam. We were lured to believe that it was a five star beach hotel by beautiful pictures at their web sites. They presented the amenities of Hotel Sheraton as if they were their own. In fact you have to use Sheraton´s beach area to get access to the beach. Half of our stay we was denied access to Sheraton because of the New Year's weekend, in spite of what Blue Lagoon has told us.

What did Blue Lagoon offer?
They offered apartments with verandas without shade and scorching sun that were too hot to use. Narrow, unfinished area with plastic sun beds without mattresses by their so called lagoon and one apartment reeking of sewage with a kitchen full of ants. A veranda door that could not be fixed with a tree outside which easily gave access to the apartment. The manager did not want us as guests and did not listen to us, but only cared about getting paid for our stay, a 10 000 Baht deposit and payment for electricity.

Our conclusion
The Blue Lagoon is an expensive, overpriced three star Beach Resort with apartments that are run by a highly unprofessional manager probably with no working permit. Do not believe in pictures and information on their web sites. Do not stay in this place if you want to be near the beach. Do not buy apartments in the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort if you want a condominium at the beach.

Beware!! Don't waste your time with this one!

This is false advertising! Nothing luxurious about these villas. The photos on the website look nothing like this. And Management is shockingly bad! I wish I had read some of the other reviews about Michael. He manages the resort and really ruined our otherwise perfect holiday! His wife on the other hand was pleasant. This resort is managed by 2 people who know nothing about managing a hotel.

- He insists on full payment upon arrival, which we didn't mind, until it took 2 hours for them to charge a credit card as THEIR system wasn't working and refused to let me and my kids settle down until he charged it and tried charging several of my cards and making me walk to the sheraton to pull out cash for him! And not a word of apology.
- No cot available, no apology or arrangement made.
- Air conditioning was not working well. No apology, nor was any effort made to fix it during our stay.
- The cable stopped working the next morning.
- No kettle in the room, and when one was brought it was too filthy to use.
- Dishes were all dirty, so we had to wash them before using.
We didn't even bother to mention the cable going down and the dirty dishes & kettle as we were pretty set on getting out. There is no service, they won't even take your trash! they will clean your room once in 3 days!
Needless to say we cut our trip short, and the rude manager - Michael - had the nerve to bang on our door at 12.00 sharp saying we had to get out as he had other people arriving. What nerve! And had us out of the rooms before a refund was given. And of course, the manager didn't refund our money to the credit card - as his machine still wasn't working.
When we threatened to call the POLICE and I videotaped his shocking behavior, (Which I am happy to pass on) he walked us over to the Sheraton where he gave us our refund in Thai baht (The last thing we needed).
All I have to say is shocking, shocking, shocking Management! I will definitely never go back or recommend it.

we booked this resort for three months based on Michael's advice and the photo on the web site. we later learned that each unit is privately owned, thus the standard is different for each unit. Our unit had paint peeling in the bathroom wall, few furniture and TV, etc....what we got was not the same as the picture and we asked Michael to provide us with the same facility as the photos; we were told that if we are not happy with the way he runs his business, that we could get our deposit back and find another establishment. We followed his advice and two days later got a call from Michael that he will not refund the deposit. Unfortunately we have to sue for misleading publicity and tax fraud.
Positive; beautiful ground and swimming pool
Negative; uneven quality of villas and misleading photos. Far from the beach. No fitness access.
Pay deposit only after you have seen what you will get. Take photos yourself.

Booked a 2-room, ground-floor apartment at Blue Lagoon for my family with 2 young kids. As advertised extensively on their website, the pool is really huge that links throughout the condo. But that's about the only nice thing there. However, the water is visibly dirty and I noticed that the chlorine level is high and PH level is low (acidic) throughout my 4 days there. (There is a daily measurement of these contents at the water pump area)
Furniture in the apartment is fairly simple. Do also note that electricity is NOT included in the final bill.
Location : not located by the beach (Sheraton is) and it's a good 10-mins stroll to the beach. and it's slightly over 10 km away from town. Luckily we have a driver with us throughout our stay. We have to drive about 15 mins every morning to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks. No decent restaurants or shops within walking distance, except restaurants in Sheraton.
We ended up spending most of our time in Sheraton.

Response from missdatchy, Owner at Blue Lagoon Resort Hua Hin
Responded Jun 13, 2012
Thank you for leaving us your comments, but I need to respond when accusations are not correct. Sometimes we have guests that can only see the negative side of our resort and never the many positive beautiful aspects. If we were any closer to the beach we would be on top the shoreline. I checked the distance from the particular accommodation this guest stayed in and the time to get to the beach was 2.4 minutes and not 10 minutes as the guest stated. Yes, the daily cholorine and acid levels are posted on the pump rooms and the guest doesn't take into consideration the amount of daily chemical balance work that goes into a pool the size of ours and anyone who has been around pools in Asia knows when it rains, the iodine content in the rain causes the water to turn a bit green. Guess what? Its the rainy season now and we have rain every afternoon, which might turn the pool water a bit green but it also cleans the coconut trees and flowers and the smell after any tropical rain is absolutely delightful. Also stated there are no decent restaurants nearby is simply not true. I'm sorry you had to travel 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks when you had a fully fitted kitchen with every appliance needed to make your own. Thank god for Starbucks.....

We stayed at the blue lagoon in a four bed villa for two weeks with my family, our three children, my mother in law and my sister in law, her husband and daughter. We wanted somewhere which had more than just a bed and bathroom situation so we could still live a little when the kids went to bed. I thought this would be an ideal situation as it was next to a 5 star hotel which did work well.
Initially I had a problem trying to book the apartment as they insisted on a 50% deposit into their bank account by a bank transfer. I explained that because this would be a direct transfer with no Abta backing that I would pay by credit card to get the insurance which is backed by the credit card company. It was explained to me by Michael Tomsloff the resort manager that they could not take a credit card payment over the phone but could take it in the resort which made me a bit suspicious of the set up. I explained to him that I wasnt happy to pay over £2000 into a strangers account which for some reason he found unbelievable. Anyhow we agreed that if I paid 10% that this would be fine and a risk worth taking as the resort was so highly rated. I thought that we had both happily agreed to this and paid this amount. After he received this money I then received an email from him saying that he didnt believe that I had any credible reason to pay with a credit card with the insurance backing and that his wife was extremely upset that he had agreed to the transaction, I could not believe that an American did not know about the benefits of paying with acredit card. Great I had just organised an expensive trip and paid a deposit to a man who seemed to be unprofessional at best, as I said we had agreed to the amount so why send an email that made me quite nervous about the whole trip. If anyone wants these emails I will forward the details to you to check their credibility.
Anyhow we did go through with the trip and were disappointed with the standard of accomodation, very basic, no washing machine, the toilets downstairs and in our bedroom had serious plumbing problems, loose taps in the kitchen, hot water very hard to regulate.
To be fair Tuk, Michaels wife was very pleasant and helpful and did offer us alternative accomodation when I told her about the plumbing situation but we thought it best to stay in case the next was even worse.
We had further problems with Michael when my brother in law arrived before us and complained about the price of his transfer as they sent a minibus to pick up two adults and a child and an extra 3% charge applied when using a debit card to pay. As far as I was concerned that was an issue between the two of them as we had paid what was asked upon arrival from his wife Tuk but when I checked my emails later in the holiday I had received one from Michael which explained if he was in the country ( he was away ) that my brother in law would not be allowed to stay in the villa and that he could cause us alot of trouble as he was still out of pocket by 5000 baht due to the 3% charge, I took this as a threat and with my wife and small children in an unfamiliar country it made me feel uneasy. I phoned his wife immediately on receipt of this email to pay the 3% as I had agreed with Michael to pay this due to card payment fees but was given no invoice or amount when we arrived and only paid the amount asked for. I again found this very unprofessional which only cemented in my mind the kind of man we were dealing with and I can only echo what has already been said about him on this website. I would like to make it clear that I had paid everything that was asked for when it was asked for and as for the 5000 baht for the 3% they had actually taken a 5000 baht deposit so I could not understand why there was any issue anyway. We talked about this in depth on holiday and the only reason we could think of for his actions was because they may be struggling, but this is just my opinion and not based on any fact.
To draw closure on this review I would like to explain that I would say that I think this is really a three star resort at best but the gardens were very nicely cared for, the cleaning staff did a good job every other day and as long as you dont expect anything more than this then you could have a good holiday here . One other thing is that getting in contact with them is very hit and miss from this country when trying to book, once I phoned the telephone line on their website and I got a group of girls just laughing on the phone which also didnt reassure me of their overall professionalism.

We are a well traveled family (with 2 young boys) having stayed in hotels and villas throughout Thailand. We've stayed at everything from 3 star resorts to 5 star hotels (our favorite being the Mandarin Dhara Dhevi) but have never had the type of infuriating service that we encountered with Michael.

We booked our 3 bdrm villa almost 3 months in advance, largely based on the website and the Tripadvisor reviews. Michael was very helpful during the booking process but things changed after we transferred the 50% cash deposit. Due to schedule changes, I requested to check in a day earlier (although still 2 months in advance) and when Michael did not respond, I called and his wife Tuk agreed. We subsequently changed our flights. About a week later, I received a curt email from Michael saying that they are fully booked and a change was not possible. I highlighted that I already changed our flights in reliance of Tuk's confirmation. He emailed that she was only trying to be "accommodating" but reluctantly agreed.

Several days prior to our departure, Michael sent me a note to confirm date, time and location of pick up as we were coming from Bangkok. I provided our service apartment details, date and time in which he responded that I needed to send a map (even though we are not from Thailand). I suspected at that point that we were going to encounter difficulties.

Our pick up was arranged for 4pm and when the car had not arrived by 445pm, we tried to call the main number on our invoice (66891133264) but the number was not in service. I emailed Michael inquiring where our pick up was. I subsequently found his mobile number and reached Tuk who indicated that Michael was out of town and did not inform her that we were checking in a day early. She said that nonetheless a car would come in an hour. We waited in the lobby of our Bangkok service apartment. Almost 4 hours later, the car arrived.

We arrived at the villas close to midnight. Tuk was extremely apologetic and offered to drive us to the nearby store to pick up food for the kids. Throughout this ordeal, Tuk has been very gracious, unlike Michael.

I emailed Michael to advise that we arrived despite the confusion. I also emailed him indicating that while the villa is huge, I was surprised to find that there is no washer/dryer. He replied indicating that the mix up was due to my constant changes and that it wouldn't have occurred had he been in town. No apologies whatsover for ruining our first night. He also indicated that it is uncommon to have washers/dryers in Thailand which is strange given that the villas that we have stayed in in Phuket and Koh Samui all had such facilities. Our Thai friend also was shocked at the worn appearance of our villa and was even more shocked to find out that we were paying 9500Baht/night (which doesn't include electricity - another surprise).

The website describes the villas as "luxurious" but Villa 12 was not. As the villas are owned by individuals, the photos on the website may not be representative of the villa that you end up with. In my mind, luxury is not Winnie the Pooh shower curtains, old bed linens, entertainment systems in the master bedroom as in the photo attached, no bedside table lamps, no soap dishes and faulty sliding doors (with broken handles). Tuk admitted to us that the owners are Thai and despite their request to update the decor, the owners refuse.

The only good points are the lagoon pool and the free WIFI. Also, when we highlighted our surprise about lack of soap dishes etc to Tuk, the next day, hand soap, soap dishes and teaspoons were dropped off. While we would have expected these sorts of basic items to be readily available, at least Tuk was very responsive to our comments.

Also note that the website indicates various concierge services available via Creative Concierge Services - one of which was the booking of a personal chef. Again, a false misrepresentation unless a Thai restaurant and McDonalds delivery falls within this category of service. Instead of advertising for these additional services, perhaps more attention should be made to the basic details.

A word of warning to potential renters - Do not rely on the website for an accurate description of the villas. Do not expect any level of flexibility. If you nonetheless decide to stay here, do not stay in Villa 12. Expect 3 star (but very spacious) accommodation. Also a car is needed as there is nothing in the area.

Sa wadi ka, On further reflection, What this guest has omitted was that they changed their holiday dates and where they were to be pickup in Bangkok a few different times. Also after speaking with Michael who was in the USA attending to his mother recent illness, I learned that because this guest was undecided about the final holiday dates and the final Bangkok pickup location for transportation, our data base was never updated. We take full responsibility for this. Yes, this particular guest was unaware that when they arrived Michael was in the California attending to his mother who is ill with cancer. That was the reason his cell phone was shut off. Having dealt with this guest situation as well as could be expected, the word "infuriating" is a harsh word to use for not being pickup up on time. Michael always treats each guest with the upmost respect and absolutely nothing would change after receiving their 50% booking deposit, why would this change anything? As we are usually fully booked, any guest that continues to change dates and location pickup does present issues even months in advance. Also why would this guest expect to encounter difficulties (as stated) when Michael asked her to send a map of the Bangkok hotel where she would be staying at. He had never heard of the hotel or the location of the hotel. Michael also advised me that this guest had sent over 20 emails with questions about the resort that Michael courteously and swiftly responded to, regardless even though the answers to these questions were visibly stated in numerous pages on our website. We have had many guests who have stayed in Villa 12 and never have we had someone say that the villa was below standards. The rate of 9,500 THB per night was discounted far below the normal nightly rate. The fact that electricity is not included in the rate price is stated in numerous pages on our website and is stated again on the Receipt/Voucher document that was sent to this guest confirming the reservation. When we have a guest that provides inaccurate facts it shows me that this guest refused to read and spend time looking through our website and relies on us to provide information that later they find a reason to complain about. Both myself and Michael advise every potential guest to treat their holiday as they would any investment and complete their due-diligence as you would any investment. Because your family holiday is an investment. We both can provide only so much information and we now feel (after reading this review) we cannot please everyone all of the time although we do try our best. What makes this comment ironic is that this guest never speaks of the positive qualities provided or the absolute beauty of the resort. P.S. Whats wrong with Winnie the Pooh curtains in the childrens bathroom? Khap khun ka

We arrived at Blue Lagoon on a Friday evening after booking a villa for the full Easter week in 2009, only to find that the air conditioning was broken in the villa, the premises were not clean, and were informed by the manager, Michael Tolmasoff, that the air conditioning could not be repaired for several days. In light of the sweltering heat (Hua Hin in April), we demanded that they switch us to a villa with air conditioning or refund our deposit. Michael told us that no other villas were available and that we could go stay at the nearby Sheraton and he would refund our deposit as soon as the banks opened the next day. Foolishly relying on his promise, I booked my extended family (including inlaws and their children) in several rooms at the nearby Sheraton. I went to visit him daily about getting the refund, but proceeded to get an evasive runaround from Michael and his assistant, Datchinee, the remainder of the time we were there. We left suspecting we would never see our deposit, but he assured us that it would be paid "as soon as the owner returns from a trip" (he also blamed the broken air conditioning on this owner, saying that he regularly skimped on maintenance and repairs to the property). You can guess how this story ends - months of email exchanges and additional excuses finally resulted in no further replies to my emails. I am sure they figured that a few thousand US dollars is not worth going back to Thailand and suing them over. Please take extreme care in dealing with these people. Ensure that you are getting a clean, working villa and do not under any circumstances rely on any verbal promises they may make (and I would be very cautious relying on any written promises as well). If anyone has any questions about any of this I am happy to share the email correspondence between me and Michael, in which he clearly acknowledges the facts I have described above.

I'm very sorry that I have only just checked my Trip Advisor. I guess you will have been and gone to Thailand by now! However, the cost of power is currently 6THB per unit of electricity.. The meter is read upon arrival and departure. We keep the cost down by using electric fans, always turning off A/C when leaving each room. This works well for us during the day. Night time I need A/C for a good nights sleep. But it is on low. Some of the family prefer a fan during the night. Can't give you a definitive cost for power, but I call it part of the cost of the holiday!

Yes, some condos are privately owned. If you book your reservation through Blue Lagoon Resort Hua Hin company you will not be disappointed. Book directly through their website which you can find easy on the web. There are a total of 108 condos in Blue Lagoon and we have only a select few which we rent. Our high quality standards prevent us from renting condos we feel do not meet our high requirements. Most all of the condos are privately owned although some are purchased strictly as investments. The condos we manage and offer for rent are investment units and fall into our rental portfolio which we completely manage and maintain. All of our rental condos come with full amenities with quality furnishings and decor. Digital safety boxes are provided in each condo. You need to be careful when viewing a single condo on the internet as these condos are usually individual condos which are sub-standard with low quality interior furnishings and the condo owner has no other platform for renting other than the internet. Due-diligence is your only answer and make sure you know the exact location of the condo in question and most important what the amenities consist of. I have witnessed people arriving and waiting hours (no key) to gain access to their rental unit, then to find the location is not where they expected, no cleaning provided no towels, limited bed linen provided and no internet or satellite TV. So take the time and ask questions and be sure that when you arrive you will receive exactly what was promised. For easy booking and full information access, you can find us at bluelagoonhuahin on the web.

We are located directly on the beach and together with the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa and you are able and encouraged to use the Sheraton facilities, pools, fitness club, tennis courts, Star Kids Club and all four restaurants. Our beach is public and there are miles and miles of white pristine sand perfect for those family shell gathering walks. No rocks which is good for running. Our beach is one of the finest beaches in Hua Hin. For more information and pictures of our beach you can access our site bluelagoonhuahin on the web.

Hello, I need to know what price you are asking for. How long are you going to stay? What type of property do you want? What are the dates? How many people in your group? Datchanee

Yes, there are miles and miles of pristine white sand beach in both directions. You can go on those family shell gathering strolls or early morning runs. You can go to our website and go to our Photo gallery and look for the category titled HUA HIN BEACH, wait for the pictures to load and click directly ontop of the title Hua Hin Beach. I believe there are 9 pictures of the beach.
