The Tara Mantra surprised us positively with a spacious room, courteous staff, and great service at a very reasonable price.

The most delightful surprise that it was not very full during our stay - which basically meant that we had one of their three pools more or less to ourselves during the majority of our stay. What a treat!

The breakfast buffet is stunning: an egg station with several cooks attending to your wishes, congee, multiple hot dishes from stir fries to curries to fried rice, an ample selection of fruits and vegetables, a good bread selection (and even some cheese and ham, even though we were so hooked on the Asian dishes that we never really tried those).

The room is spacious with a sizeable balcony for an evening drink and a good drying option for your beach clothing.

The hotel provides beach towels for the entire stay, bottled water on a daily basis, bikes for excursions, and the staff is generally very helpful.

Improvement areas:
Service in the restaurant is sometimes slow (but we believe that personnel is shared with the hotel next doors) - which was no problem for us at all, we were on holiday and had time.

The pidgeons were a bit bothersome, since they also left some dirt at the pool.

The main improvement area is the noise of the air conditioning units. Sleep would be much better with a less loud piece of equipment.

But overall, a very relaxing and luxurious stay at a real bargain price.

Many thanks to the staff, especially at the breakfast buffet - you did an amazing job!

Great hotel and location. Really enjoyed my 6 nights here. Lovely clean hotel and very friendly staff. Selection of breakfast was very good, from Thai to European and again very friendly staff in the restaurant. Location of the hotel is across the road from the beach so couldn’t be better. Had a lovely stay here and hopefully will be back in April

The hotel has good rooms but all of the rooms on the first floor barely get any sun on the 'balcony'
Our room 110 had a smell from not being dried out ever.....No Horizon or any for of view from the room and people walking by all the time to get to the beach or the restaurant.
I must say that the cleaning personell went out of the way to keep the room clean and pleasant :)
Lalada tried to do whatever she could !!!!!!!
The breakfast at the hotel was very good , and the waiters and cooks excellent :) I can't imagine what you would miss here !
The reception very friendly and here we had to goevery day in order to get a card that would give us ONLY 4 hours of Wifi.....Very annoying .....you had to sign in every time.......impossible for iPhone and IPad to update :(
The hotel has 3 pools...on three floors ..but only room for six sun beds at each floor.
I thought this would be a problem but actually...since the pools are built between the hotel and a wall there was no air where the sun beds were and nobody could stay there because of the heat :) Must say that the water in the pools were clean and cool :)
The restaurant down by the road, overlooking the beach, had very nice food and great personell :)

Our family took two rooms at the Tara Mantra Resort at Chaam. We had a family room and an ordinary two single bed room. The family room was a lovely surprise. It was quite large by today hotel standards. It had a double bed and a single bed and a small sitting area where the tv was located. There were two balconies. The other room was similar in size to other hotels - two single beds. The price of the rooms was good value. The beds and bedding were new and comfortable.

The staff were very helpful. There was some initial confusion because our booking had specified an additional portable bed which we didn't need. The staff actually arranged for us to be refunded this cost through our booking agent which we had undertaken to fix when we returned to Bangkok. Great customer service taking the initiative to do this.

We enjoyed the pool which is on several levels - although narrow it provides lots of space for groups of people. We had lunch by the pool for convenience - although tasty it was a bit more expensive than similar restaurants in Chaam.

The breakfast buffet included both cooked and cold foods catering for different nationalities. I would rate it as good/average. There was plenty to eat. The problem with the breakfast room was it was too cold.

There seemed to be some teething problems relating to water at the hotel. Our bathroom seemed to retain water under the basin. It didn't trouble us too much because it was out of the way and we used the bathroom mats. Towels and mats were changed daily. There was also a towel in the middle of the corridor near the room where my daughters were staying. It was collecting drips from the ceiling.

The location of the hotel was good. The beach is just a short walk - the hotel ends up at the road across from the beach. Chaam beach had a bit too much rubbish on it for my liking. There are several massage places right near the entrance to the hotel. We had foot massages and oil massages at Mum Sabai. They were very relaxing.

Chaam is busy on the weekend but much quieter during the week. There was a big difference between the number of guests at Sunday breakfast and Monday breakfast. Sunday was quite crowded.

The wifi provided at the hotel was free.

We enjoyed our stay, particularly in the family room and were impressed with the customer service. We would stay again for the relaxed atmosphere.

stayed there for 2 nights, got upgraded to Minisuite room :)

i love the whole picture of the resort, not so many ppl. not so Thai like most of the properties in Hua Hin even i stayed in the Long-weekend period.

The service was great.

Once i entered the minisuit room, ok i found it a bit WOW cause of the size. the only bad thing is the light is too dim, not suit for elders, but best for Honeymooners.

The unique point of this hotel is that they have 3 swimming pools in the different floor level.

The biggest one is on the 1st fl, and the smaller (suit for couple), and the last one on the top floor.

They have small fitness, spa and meeting room.

I didnt tried their dishes at the restaurant but the breakfast buffet is nice. Western & Thai could cope my needs.

There's a parking area in the basement and they also provide free bike for the guests.

The location is good, you can just across the small road to the beach area and order some seafood from local ppl there.

There are 2-3 minimart, and thai massage.

Going out to somewhere is not hard from Taramantra, you can by walk or rent a bicycle.

Just a short summarize : Nice and clean with good service @ Taramantra.

We booked on internet during a long weekend and we had no idea where we were going... Rate was very reasonable and we had a simple but nice rooms...
The hotel is very narrow and nicely organized with a total of 3 or 4 pools with different atmosphere... they have a nice bar/restaurant facing the beach and the surroundings, although very local, are very nice and you can walk easily... Some bicycles are available without any charge...
Good surprise indeed !
Cheers.

I stayed here with a big group of friends. When we arrived I was surprised that the hotel that looked small from outside turn to be a hotel that has a lot of space and great swimming pools.

The room is well designed. The bed and pillows are very clean. From my room we don't have much view to see but they have done a good job for decorated the wall and the terrace with tropical plants.

The swimming pools are great. There are 3 long separated swimming pools. Good enough for relaxation.

The greatest things at this hotel is the restaurant. They have great breakfast and dinner. I still miss the foods over there.

In conclusion, Cha Am beach is long and can make you get bored sometime. At this hotel you will get very good experiences for your best holiday.

During my business trip, I prefer to stay at Cha Am Beach. I bellieve the most silent properties around here. It was at the end of August and I stayed there 1 night. Related to my job, I usually try to make inspection the property that i stay and check around carefully. That property just built 1-2 years ago and its very suitable for family, couple, young and honeymooners. There are lots of room types alternatives forrest view rooms, sea view rooms etc. all their front office staff speak english pretty great and they are always ready to help. There are 3 swimming pool on 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor. I will definetely go back there and that time im planing to go with my girlfriend to stay in peace

Have stayed in Cha-am many times over the last 12 years as have family that live here.
First time ever at Tara Mantra, decided to try it as looks lovely on the outside.
Best thing about this hotel is the breakfast, great choice of fresh food.
The rooms however were disappointing . Mould in bathrooms in the grout . Shower water pressure was on and off and got scolded a few times when the hot water blasted through the shower hose.
Mouldy cupboard along the outer wall.
Wet damp mouldy ceiling above the airconditioner .
We paid for a superior room and the hotel was very quiet with only 5 couples and there was no upgrade. As soon as new people entered they were placed in the rooms next door. With a hotel of over 700 rooms and only a few people why next door????
The pool areas are vast but pools look tired and grout mouldy along the edges .
Very quiet hotel. Shame about the netting across the balcony.

When we stayed, there were plenty of children eating breakfast and I don't think its a problem. Its also a Buffet style breakfast, so they can eat as much , or as little as they choose. Hope this helps
