It is a hotel suitable for relaxing, very good atmosphere, walking distance to the beach. Good service staff in all departments From the reception, restaurant, bar, swimming pool is very clean. delicious breakfast If there is a chance next time, will definitely stay again. Recommended for people who want to relax.
We stayed here for 19 nights in April of 2022 and we can very much recommend this hotel! The service is amazing and everything works very friendly and professional. The F&B team, the reception team as well as the housekeeping team did a fantastic job and were always very kind and helpful, really everyone was absolute nice. There is a rich breakfast (that includes European food options) with a great view. The beach is also very beautiful and there a large pools at different locations in the hotel complex. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We also enjoyed the game room that provided darts, table tennis etc. and even a selection of board games. During our long stay we really got to know the staff and we would like to dedicate a very special thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable and carefree! The restaurant team of Thip, Khwan and Soh; the bar team of Nid, Pam and Roth; the reception team of Kukai & Nice as well our housekeeper Miss Juntrasiri – thank you very much! Finally, we would like to emphasize the incredible help from F&B manager James and guest relation manager Max. Thank you all for making our stay so special!…
We were lucky enough to be able to spend Christmas 2021 at Tui Blue Khao Lak and it definitely hit the spot. I still miss falling asleep to the sounds of the waves. We were given a beachfront room, and it was perfect - about a 10 second skip to the gorgeous sandy beach and the most beautiful warm, clear ocean, also the furnished patio front made for a perfect spot to watch the sunset. The hotel really does have the most picture perfect location. Our room was very generous in size with plenty of storage space, a large fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and even a plug in mosquito repellent - we asked for an iron and also utilised the laundry service which was super cheap. We also used room service which was reasonable. Covid has affected the numbers at the resort badly, and it was sad to see it so very quiet but we made the most of the facilities on offer. What made the holiday for us was the staff, of whom I cannot thank enough or talk highly enough of - not one person did not greet us with a ‘sawadee Kha’ warm welcome and a wave and a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The TUI team (Max/Sasha/Mo) were fab, Max helped with the TUI Blue app, Sasha kept us busy with water aerobics, Pilates and bar games and both were great for information. Mo helped with some fabulous trips and local info and we appreciated them very much. I am presuming the food choices had to be modified due to covid and how quiet it was, we enjoyed what we had and James the catering manager (I think that was the title) is so very friendly and professional - he was great when I asked for certain things and the chef was happy to modify dishes as I don’t eat meat. It would be good to see some more creative vegetarian options but this again could be down to the current climate and having to keep the menu limited. We also enjoyed the Thai cookery lesson and eating our own creation! We had wonderful anniversary and birthday surprises and sipping chilled bubbly on my patio at sunset and finding chocolate cake in the fridge with a never to be sniffed at. Hugest thanks to my absolute stars Nan and Kwan who are just so friendly and fabulous and made breakfast a pleasure every day. Also thanks to Wirot at the pool bar whom we liked to keep busy during afternoon happy hour and the most lovely Mae for looking after us every evening at happy hour at the beach bar. These staff deserve a mention because they made my holiday lovely and would be a reason I returned. Chee, Aom, Van thanks too and the reception staff (sorry for not knowing your name) who we liked to ply with questions - you really all are 1st class. Mr Baw the taxi driver who was around most nights deserves a mention too, he did us a fab trip out and it was a pleasure to sing country and western and chat with him - great guy! We did watch the fire show at the hotel which was great, and we enjoyed the Thai dancing and it was very relaxing just sitting after dinner at the beach bar. We loved some of the local restaurants and bars in Bang Niang but I’ll review separately. The market was great for picking up some bargains. We found the location of the TUI Blue favourable, we took ourselves off on a walk to the National Park and had a lovely (hot) day exploring. We could easily walk to restaurants, bars, shops and the 7/11 (it’s not a holiday to Thailand without several visits to my favourite shop). I had a lovely stay and look forward to returning to Khao Lak and TUI Blue to see how things are getting back to some sort of normal. We really do miss our little slice of paradise. Thank you all once again for your along such good care of us. Julie & Chris Darnell…
Everything about this resort is excellent !? We were given an upgrade as so very few actually made into the counrty So why the weird title of the review ? We stayed here 2 years ago and then the half board offer was fantastic Lots of high quality options for breakfast and Dinner we even had a superb Xmas banquet included in the package This time Dec/Jan 2022 the food was dire with little or no choice - not due to COVID -just a lazy attitude from Food & Beverage team. The best example was the choice of 2 just fruit juices ( not fresh )-and 1 cereal ..coco cornflakes for 2 weeks for goodness sake ! The menu was exactly the same for lunch and dinner and was unchanged in the whole 2 weeks - with no specials offered The Xmas Eve grand Dinner was a disaster as every diner I saw returned their meal as the meat ( whatever it was) was inedible It wasn't a supply issue either as the local shops had most things in abundance The local TUI reps were apathetic and so nothing changed Our dream location for sure but our much anticipated return was a great disappointment. For the money it was very poor indeed…
My husband and I recently returned from 7 wonderful nights at Sensimar- Kkao Lak. We fell in love with this place from the moment we arrived and were greeted with warm, friendly smiles. Sensimar is truly luxury ! There are 5 swimming pools, 2 restaurants and it's set right on a gorgeous beach. All the staff are terrific and we want to thank them all for their wonderful hospitality. The food here is truly delicious.. very fresh and mouth watering ( not good for my waist line ) If you want to walk to town ( or get a taxi for 100THB ) then be sure to visit a great bar called Walkers. The owner is a lovely British guy and his beautiful Thai wife. They serve ice cold beers and the best spring rolls you'll ever eat ..they also have all the sports channels in case you want to watch your favourite sport while you're enjoying the beer. Great shopping in town and you won't be leaving Khao Lak with an empty suitcase. Thank you Sensimar, we really loved our short stay at your wonderful resort. Hope to visit again one day.…
We have just returned from a 2 week stay. We booked a swim up room which was lovely BUT we were surrounded by smokers which severely restricted us enjoying this luxury. The hotel states that it is non smoking but it allows smoking outside the rooms. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping team do a brilliant job. Breakfast is the worst we have ever experienced in the Far East, we have visited many countries, Thailand 3 times and have never had such a poor choice of food. Unless you get down by the beach by 7.30am you have no chance on a sunbed. This could be a lovely hotel but it needs to address a lot of issues. The staff were all pleasant and friendly and everywhere was scrupulously clean. We enjoyed Khao Lak and hope to return but it will definitely not be to this hotel. In our opinion it should not be rated as 4*.…
We returned to Sensimar & can't praise all the staff enough, they were absolutely amazing. Fabulous breakfasts with lots of choice. We requested the same room as the first time & were so pleased that we accommodated, thank you. We hope to return some time in the future
We stayed here for 7 nights . The hotel is well kept , friendly staff and rooms are well appointed. The rooms and grounds are well maintained and there are an abundance of sun beds so you can truly relax. There is a lot of shade but it is much needed with the strong rays and there are always opportunities by the pool. Breakfast was plentiful and i loved the freedom of being bed and breakfast allowing us to walk to restaurants and cocktail bars a short distance away I would stay again
Having just returned from a two week holiday at the sensimar beachfront hotel in khao lak I can only praise the hotel and staff, everything was pristine and the setting was beautiful with a minute walk to the beach. We stayed in room 4122 in mountain wing accessible via the lift and direct access onto the main road at the rear of the block overlooking the pool with a sea view with large balcony to watch the amazing sunsets. ( We did not have to upgrade to stay in these rooms as the previous reviewer stated). We stayed bed & breakfast which was lovely with everything needed to start the day the breakfast staff were very polite & courteous. The grounds and pools were very tropical and there was no issues finding a bed but if you wanted one on the beachfront you would need to be up at 7 a.m ( we even noticed certain couples of a certain nationality on a daily basis having 2 beds on the upper floor pool & on beachfront beds ( couldn't work out how they had managed to get hold of 4 hotel towels ???? ) and as for the previous reviewer having a go at Paul the Tui rep he was nothing but courteous & very helpful during our stay and did not push any trips at the welcome meeting ( I don't understand people what go to the welcome meetings and then have a go on TripAdvisor at the rep regarding overpriced trips as we booked via Tui & Tour operators on the main road and you are asked to sign disclaimers via both operators). The Sensimar resort , Khao lak areas are beautiful and would highly recommend as we will be booking again as we are missing it already. …
We started badly at this hotel: having asked (via hte Hotels.com website) for a ground floor room, we and our friends ended up with one on level 5 at the top, though thankfully reached by a lift. However, the hotel redeemed itself, big time. They offered us the next day a free upgrade to a beach chalet (which we did not accept, but for other reasons), and the manager and management generally were extremely helpful and concerned to make us as customers happy. Full marks! And in fact it is a lovely resort hotel, in a good location which is both secluded and reasonably accessible to the attractions of nearby Khao Lak town. So recommended!
